This is starting to get redundant...The coach has the right to promote or move coaches around as he pleases, but maybe doing it in a more professional manner would have been the better course of action...the man didn't kill anybody!

A new coach has the prerogative to get things the way he wants them, but running off assistants so early in the process is probably not a wise move. It is my experience that good assistants are very hard to come by, especially high quality ones. On the other hand, if they are not going to buy in you might be better off coaching short handed.

I think they have enough talent and resources to be a tough out for a lot of teams.

Good luck Grundy...went through there a few years back. Some lovely mountain roads and scenery. Looked like a tough place to recruit a high quality coach though.

I didn't realize we had Belichick and Saban on here...I guess Ill just have to get by on my poor knowledge, after all my team is only 44-6 the last four years

Virtually any scheme can be successful with the right personnel and if it is coached right.

That can be true in any scheme...with a 4-3 you would have four linemen getting worn out...

Wow...gotta disagree here...I have seen quite a few highly successful high schools use the 3-4 defense. Now you might not have the right personnel to run it sometimes but as a scheme it is tried and true at every level.

Why not alternate between East, Middle, and West Tennessee?

If people want it to improve why haven't they forced the board's hand into making changes? The board works for them and is spending their money. From what I understand, the issue is coaching supplements. It would not be that big an expense to pay three or four assistants $2000 or $3000 each. If you want better for your kids then go demand it.

You do what you can with the circumstances you are given. The kids deserve the best the school can get with the hire. Hopefully the board will come to their senses at some point in the future.
