  1. NG getting a lot of point blank looks and not cashing it in. Foul trouble is playing a factor as well. Strong is an unbelievable player.
  2. Very true and it will be interesting to see the chess match here, because Shultz can play the role of Stockton just as well as he can play the role of Malone. I expect Schultz and Strong to both get 20-30 or more. It’s the role players that are going to be important to watch.
  3. Not a coach, but thanks for thinking I have anything to do with it.
  4. Grainger, Elizabethton, Providence Academy, South Greene, Hampton, etc. are not bad teams, but we could go on all day here. The fact is that North Greene is back in the Final Four. I guess the competition was good enough to prep them for Richland.
  5. They score an awful lot of points to “suck when pressured.”
  6. NG was in this same position in 2018. This isn’t just some fluke situation. I’d like to know how much NG film you have watched. Out of the 37 games they have played, they have scored 75 or more 18 times. If the press is so effective against them, I wonder how they scored so often when the tempo is high?
  7. She’s played like this the past two seasons and she has one more left. I do believe she saved her best two games of the season for Murfreesboro. I think she’s also figured out how good she can really be.
  8. Most folks on the girls side thought Gibson County would blow out North Greene as well.
  9. The North Greene kids were separated by the two feeder schools at the time, so Cloudland is facing some stiffer competition at the HS level.
  10. To be fair, NG has gone 6-2 in the last two years against Cloudland and 4-0 in the games that really matter. NG returns three starters, including Anderson, next year. With 4 classifications, we could see both teams in Murfreesboro again.
  11. Absolutely no taunting with that celebration. As you said, he immediately congratulated GC as he went back towards his players. If you ask anybody that knows East Tennessee basketball, they will be quick to tell you that James Buchanan is the epitome of class. One of the most respected coaches in the state.
