That's right, i forgot about that. Fall 2021 y'all were supposed to come here but had to cancel. I was hoping we would keep this series going.

Unfortunately we hardly ever hear anything about ours till late spring and are usually still trying to fill open dates up until the start of season.

I guess they took Murphy off the schedule. That sucks, I figured we would do a home/away series.

I know some of you guys were asking so thought I'd give an update. Our injured player had to have surgery Saturday but got to come home that evening. He's got a rod in his leg now but should make a full recovery. Unfortunately his football career is over. He was at practice today and seemed to be in good spirits considering. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. They are greatly appreciated.

Finally getting around to typing out my thoughts from last night. South Pitt, you guys are a first class outfit. I love the amount of community support for your team. Every light pole in downtown having a Pirates banner on it was really cool. Also really cool that y'all basically shut town down on game night! I had several pleasant interactions with SP fans. All very respectful and willing to talk football for as long as you'd talk lol. I saw on our high school Facebook page several SP fans checking in and offering support for our fallen player. That means a lot. Nothing but respect for y'all and your program. Good luck the rest of the season, go get you boys another title.

I'll be there if anybody wants to meet and greet and maybe talk a little football before the game or at halftime.

Where's a good place to eat in South Pitt before the game Friday night? The wife and I generally try to hit a local restaurant when we're on the road.

Nothing but respect for South Pitt and your program. You guys are the standard by which other TN 1A teams are judged. Your guys may very well run us off the field Friday night but they'll know they've been in a ball game when they wake up Saturday morning lol. I just hope for good weather and a good clean injury-free game.

Not good is kind of strong....Copper basin is not good. I wouldn't really say we're worried either. We've been preparing for this game for two weeks but worried is not how I'd describe it. We've heard several times how we can't handle the speed of this team or that team. Some times we win, some times we don't. We'll come down off the mountain and strap em on either way.

We won the 20/21championship in the spring of '21 because NC didn't have a fall season that year. Coach Gentry retired after that season and Watson took over in Fall of 21. We did get put out in the 4th round last fall Like with any new coach we've had our growing pains. You don't just replace the winningest coach in NC and a majority of his staff and not miss a beat. Especially with only 2 months before fall ball started. As for this seasons team, we lost a lot of skill kids to graduation and are still trying to find our identity. Couple that with a long bus ride and I think SP wins this one comfortably.

Huck actually lives in Cherokee Co. LIke 3 minutes up the road from my house. We've hunted together for years.

Not recently. We did just have a 4-star OT graduate this spring. He's on the roster at Florida.

We were really looking forward to that game, hate it got cancelled. We did replace it with a powerhouse 2A GA team in Rabun County. They have the #5 ranked QB in the nation so may be a long night.

Hope we can line something up with you South Pitt guys in the future. Was really looking forward to that game.
