Here's a big reveal. I teach a core subject and coach have won multiple district championships in my sport.

My point, which gets lost by people who are unwilling to read or remember, is that 60,000 a year is more than a suitable income for someone in Hartsville, TN with no other responsibilities other than coach football. Coaches aren't permitted to work out students in any way during dead weeks/ period. Some schools follow this. All are supposed to.

High school football can not operate for 12 months. Head coaches are not permitted to do so. Weight lifting or otherwise.

Dude, he's athletic director. Coaches set schedules and do all the specifics. All he does is disseminate information from DOS and TSSAA. Anyone who knows alot of football coaches in this area know they aren't exactly pros, BS included. You seem to glorify a position for way more than it is. He is handsomely paid for his level of work and effort. Also, Masters levels teachers with 5 years experience only make 60,000 in 4 districts. You have nearly 80% they don't even scratch low 50's. Their mens and womens head basketball coach makes 20,000 less per year than him. Don't feel sorry for BS. He's getting paid to do very little. He'd tell you so himself.

The point is, for the system he's is the highest paid non Principal non DOS employee. They cheap out everywhere but Head Coach.

In a county with little to no tax revenue, the head football coach, who is in his late 20's, makes more than every employee in their school system except Principals,and 2-3 people at central office. Explain to me what I don't understand. His salary is 60, and he received a pretty sizeable stipend on top of that. Show me how much Smith, Macon, Westmoreland, FCS coaches are making?

They pay peanuts, I don't blame good coaches leaving. Only people who stay are teachers and coaches who can't work elsewhere because they are accustomed to the favoritism and can get away with murder. Everyone else leaves.

You said they aren't a historically winning or powerful program and I just gave you evidence they were from 2013 to 2018 they were dominant. Problem was, the one coach hit a player and ran off, BS got tired of middle school and moved up under Waggs, and they replaced them with the Williams kid who was a joke and now P who is a joke. The program fell hard in the past 4 years, b4 that, they were winning at a 90% clip. No development below means they are behind in HS, dark days ahead for TC, thank god they are in such a garbage district.
