Talked to a buddy that has ties to Harpeth and watched there games online. They look pretty decent. Lost by 2 to WHH bc the coach got a tech with 6 seconds left. Then, they Beat a good community team by three with a 3 pointer coming from a sophmore in the last 10 seconds. They play Creekwood this week. Maybe that will tell us more by comparing that game to Cheatham and Creekwoods game. Creekwood beat cheatham by 20. Cheatham is having trouble scoring!

Did anyone make it to some games? How’s everyone looking?

What about east? They never competed in middle school and usually got blown out. I remember seeing them play sycamore several times and it wasn't close. Cheatham just graduated a bunch and wont be relevant for several years. Harpeth is going to be iffy. They are always decent but not sure if they will reach potential.

They returned a lot of guys, correct? Also, are they Sr, Jr heavy?

I know a little about Harpeth and an “ok amount” about Cheatham. Cheatham lost their entire varsity last year to graduation. They only played seniors. They will be “ok”. I saw a couple east Hickman games but don’t know all the players graduation years but I think Cheatham could beat east Doubt Cheatham can beat Harpeth but Harpeth is a new team from last year too. thwy lost a decent pg and one of their main shooters. and a bunch of roll players But they return several guys who played a lot of varsity time. They have potential to be very good. Hickman and Harpeth actually played this summer in a summer camp. Hickman won by like 15. Harpeth was missing 3 starters and one big time varsity player got hurt in the first half of that game. So it wasn’t a good showing for Harpeth but Hickman looked really solid. You can tell they returned a lot of their guys. I believe they only graduated 1 player that contributed alot last year. I lean towards Hickman as 1 and Harpeth as 2. But that could change after a couple games. I think Cheatham might get a couple upsets on some decent teams but they are gonna fall to 3 and east at 4. im excited for these teams. Should be more each other caliber. Last year Cheatham and Harpeth had 2 schools in their district that should’ve been 3a several years ago. They finally got moved up. I live close to Nashville and follow the areas sports. I have a subscription to the NFHS broadcasting site so I can watch a lot of these games online.

White House heritage will be solid. They graduated all starters I believe but I watched some of there boys play this summer and their jv games last year. I could see them top 3 or maybe 1-2 in district.

I honestly don’t know much about anyone. White House handled Harpeth pretty well in one game but it was close in the other. I know sycamore and Fairview have really good JR/Sr class’.

Was the player that got ejected the same one that got a tech the previous game? Or am I mixing the two stories?

Power center doesn’t take advantage of their bigs like they should. I think they could have played that game out different.

Honestly, don’t know enough about all the teams. But I’m gonna take some shots. give me Pearl, Brainerd, Douglas and Giles.

Guess this is a preview of AAA with these two teams. Haha

GC is DEEEP. 1-9 try to score the ball. They don’t just look for passes. They drive hard and create.

Cheatham is loosing 9 SRs on varsity. I don’t think they are returning anyone that got significant mins in varsity. Their JV was decent last year but they should be down. Harpeth is losing their best player and a couple shooters. But they return several guys that got a lot of mini yes. They should be competitive. My guess is Harpeth and Hickman will be the better games to watch.

FHS did slow Giles down from scoring 80. But you know what I mean

Giles didn’t let up and Fairview couldn’t slow them down. They hung for a while but Giles is really solid 1-8

Can I get a report on Hickman and East Hickman? What do y’all think they will be like next year in the new district with Cheatham and Harpeth? any players that stand out above the rest?

I can see that. I saw the coach handle a situation with one of his players and it showed a lot of his character. But I will say the student section was out of hand. Which isn’t the coaches job. That’s the principal and AD
