Funny hearing all these USJ people whine and cry on hear cause they got their butts kicked. USJ did this to Middleton, Bruceton, TCA (during their first few years to have a team) and many others for years and years. They never had a problem beating smaller schools like a drum for years and years. Now, they get a taste of it and its all tears and panties all up in a wad. Cry me a river.

Sounds to me that the state should close the school and bus the kids to South Gibson County.

There will be a small crowd in the visitor's section because most of them will not leave the Jack Daniels Distillery site in time to find the stadium.

On Monday morning USJ will announce that they are doing away with football until or unless they drop back to 1A. It will be that bad.

Discipline was non existent this year. Players missing practices Monday - Wednesday and sometimes not showing up till game day. A good coach would forfeit games instead of letting them even dress out on game day. If a good coach tries to tackle this then he may have to know going in he may have to forfeit some games in year one due to not 11 guys to dress out due to this. Very possible the ones use to being able to do this will simply quit leaving only 11 or less on the team. It could be turned around. Year 2 could be better. Year 3 could be better than year 2. The question is, what coach would be willing to take the job. There will be zero problems getting someone to take it and keep running things the same way.

BA is just as likely to win the state championship this year than any other team that is in the bracket.

Can't run a typical defense against Huntingdon and win unless you have a d line and three LBs that are far, far better than the Huntingdon o line. Gotta do things he ain't expecting. d line can't sit there like sitting ducks. Gotta move around a bit pre-snap and attack spots along the line at the snap.

TCA was a very good team in game one. They have gotten better each week. They are now a better team than they were in the USJ game. I'm already looking forward to seeing them play next year.

I've heard through the grapevine that tickets to this game have hit the $500 a ticket price out on the street. ESPN is also going to be rolling into Dresden Friday afternoon to nationally televise this game.

I've never seen a team lose as many games by less than 10 points in one season than BA.

They have a very good chance of making it to Chattanooga come December. If you have not seen Dyersburg this year then you should. They are a very scrappy hard hitting high spirited bunch. Their D Line overwhelms every O Line they play against.

Wasn't any rebuilding needed. The coach just decided he didn't want it anymore. There is such things as a program in need of rebuilding. That was not one of those cases.

Thank you. Sadly, the results have been even worse than I expected. This guy did not inherit a sh*t show. He inherited a team that got wins last year, against quality programs, and had a lot coming back. Still yet they are much worse this year. In fact, it is a total unmitigated disaster. Whoever hired this guy is an idiot. Make hires like that out here in the real world and you go broke quick or get fired quick. He/she needs to stay in education and never even entertain the idea of doing anything else.

Amen. This late in the season and it is obvious that linemen as well as receivers are unsure of who to block. The tackling technique is embarrassing. It has all the red flags of a coaching staff with the philosophy of "getting a lot of reps" in practices instead of doing things perfectly before moving on to something else. The combined coaching IQ of all the coaches added together is a far lower number than the UC head coach alone. But hey, it was an easy hire for the superintendent. The guy was already with the Lauderdale County school system, already on the payroll. That saved him about 45 minutes of paperwork, right. So, for him, it was a no brainer.

Ripley has NEVER defeated Covington on the football field. Never.

A word of hard earned advice here for parents of potential players presently in middle school and for coaches: 1. If there is a kid that plays the same position as your kid and that other kid has special connections of ANY kind with the head coach (board members, BFF, etc.) do not Hope things are handled right. Transfer. 2. If you are offered a position at a school as a coordinator or HC and you know nobody at the school while all the other coaches are long time buddies, do NOT take the job. If, however, you can go in with a relative or a best friend as a coordinator then go for it. DO NOT go in there alone. Never, ever, never.

I watched the "Teddy Talks" show on YouTube. Teddy is the Humboldt head coach. The host asked "is the players not showing up for practice until Thursday each week still a problem coach?" Teddy said, "this week most did not show up until Friday". He was talking about the week of the Halls game which Halls won 10 - 8. Obviously, there's potential to win a lot of games at Humboldt with a head coach who wants to be their coach and not their friend.
