Just cuz the East blew out a west team this year doesnt mean you guys will next year. Over the past 5 years the West and East have went back n forth in the state game. S Pitt was better then everyone, but I still think the west was more talented overall as far as their top 5 teams. After Spitt and Gville their were no other contenders. West had 4 or 5 contenders.

I standby my stance that JB will never win a State Championship until they start scheduling some tougher regular season games. SP played teams like signal mountain and Polk to get them ready for the playoffs. Im at FC now and we play a MONSTER schedule, but its what led them to three state championships in a row. JB will have alot of talent returning, but i hope they challenge themselves this year in the regular season. Going 8-2 and winning state is better then 10-0 and losing in playoffs in my mind.

you are nuts if you think your side was full. One whole side ofyalls was filled with another football team. You guys had the two middle sections packed down, but other then that your crowd was very spread out. Im watching right now and JB had over 4 secionts completely packed down. By the way each side held 8,000 people so you are crazy if you think JB didnt have that place over halfway filled. THis is something completely retarded to argue about, but dont get your feelings hurt bc you didnt bring the crowd that we did.

As I walked to my seat I stopped in the endzone and took a look at the crowds just before kickoff. I came to the conclusion that JB had a pretty noticable advantage in crowd size. I told my buddy that we won the crowd battle now we just got to beat their team...... I guess that was the only battle we won the whole day cuz we were totally out matched. Just want to say to all those that were yelling for Coach Adkins to try something else, I just warn you to remember that he is the coach that has brought this program from nothing to what it is today. As a person who played for him I know that he is second to none when it comes to putting an offensive game plan together. The fact of the matter is X's and O's dont win the game, Jimmy's and Joe's win games!!!! Great game SP, you guys were faster, bigger, and much more physical! I am keeping Brandon Holt in my prayers. I honestly think he makes about a 1 to 2 td difference. So we would have still lost by 4 touchdowns or so. Not necessarily because he is that good, but just simply because i saw a team that was lifeless once they saw their leader go down. That along with driving the ball 3 times in a row into Sp territory and getting nothing didnt help either.

The team I coach for uses a turf field just like Tenn Tech's. Trust me the field will be dry and in great shape. IT takes ten inches to get water to stand on turf fields. Only a few hours to dry! Field will be in great shape!!! The challenge is practicing in it without any distractions.

Thats the first time I have ever heard JB's offense described as vanilla. Just because they dont run stupid trick plays on every possession doesnt mean they don't have ALOT of wrinkles in their offense that are to subtle for an average fan to notice. Against Wayne. Co we made a very subtle adjustment and started running at will!!! My guess is you will not call if vanilla after the game Friday.

I missed 2 games in the first round and 1 game in the second round and have gotten every game right since then!!! I have JB winning it all, if so I believe that would make me a winner!!!!

Obviously this video is tilted in NCS's favor, but what you can take from that video is this. Watch everytime #1 and #34 touch the ball. In every single shot it takes MULTIPLE people to take them down. Not once do you see the first guy take him down without help. That is something that you can't prepare for boys!!!!!!

Jo Byrns did not have a very tough schedule during the regular season. Hardest two games were Clarksville Academy (6-5) and Nashville Christian (9-3). With that said WC and PC used that argument to claim their victories ahead of time and that bit them in the butt. JB's playoff path was very tough playing three really tough games. The PC game was just an example of JB playing their best. If thats what SP gets this week then it will be a great ball game.

Congrats to both teams for making it this far. It is a huge success win or lose next week! The argument that because South Pitt lost last year so they wont lose this year is absurd. Last year has no effect on this year and if you want to make that argument then so could Jo Byrns as they lost in state two years ago. Both teams will be equally hungry so any arguments or board material trying to get the teams pumped up is a waste. In fact i hope JB can calm down the nerves and focus on executing and not so much on screaming and etc. Two years ago many coaches felt like the kids got to hyped before the game and used to much energy doing it. As for the X's and O's, over the last few weeks i have seen our opposition on film so i had an idea of what to expect, but i have not seen any film yet. I did watch them last year and I think that they do a great job of spreading the field trying to get the defense in looks they like. However I do think the type of offense South Pitt runs benefits JB. JB is a smaller quick defense and I think thats what helped them prevail over the wayne co and PC type offenses. In the past JB has struggled with the power running games. I am sure South Pitt tries this some, but it is not what they do so to say. JB's quickness will help with containing all the weapons SP contains, however contain is the key word. There will be no shutting down for either team in this game. As for JO Byrns offense, i couldnt be more clueless. I do know that people have been under the misconception that Jo Byrns will simply line up and run it straight. This is not true and they will mix it up and keep south pitt guessing just enough to keep SP from stacking the line. My prediction is that both teams will move the ball around, but JB will do what they do and that is not turn the ball over and create turnovers and that will be the difference in the game. JB 28-20

Coaches and fans always talk about playing up to your potential, and last night was a classic example of a well prepared team playing up to their potential. Jo byrns offense absolutely dominated the game and effectively kept PC's offense off the field for large chunks at a time. Defensively JB gave up some big plays, but that is inevitable this deep in the playoffs. The key is limiting the big plays and making some of your own. We did that with 3 or 4 turnovers compared to 1 by JB that came on a deep 4th down pass. JO Byrns proved that they have a great TEAM not just two good RB's. Nothing against PC, but it seemed like they had two playermakers and then were closer to average everywhere else on the field. THey constantly tried to run with Tucker or throw screens to Mercer. Still I thought Perry Co had a fine team and those two kids were very good. Just wish some more of these PC posters would rightfully get on here and take their crow like a man. Only seen two or three posters. Great season PC hope you come to Cookeville next week!!!!

Lets clear something up.... This is not the NFL there is no 5 yard contact rule. A Defensive player can make contact with a Wr at any spot on the field as long as the ball is not in the air. Someone earlier stated that Rice was pushed out of bounds just before Tyler threw him the ball. If that is the case then that is a completely legal play as long as he did not pull him down. Stop complaining about the rules when you dont even know them.

I coach for Fort Campbell not NCS. I went to highschool at Jo Byrns. Dont call somebody out with the wrong information. I love how you guys claim to be SOOOO much better then WC yet you barely beat them in triple OT in a game that i am sure could have went either way.

wow i thought the wayne co fans were overly confident, but were not even an hour into this topic and perry co is already saying its gonna be a blowout. Quite amazing to me! Everyone knew that Lake Co. was weak so dont get over confident because you put a beatdown on a lesser caliber team. With that said this should be a great game. Will Jo Byrns find a way to limit Tucker or will Perry Co. find a way to limit the Jo Byrns run game? Good question and only one way to find out! p.s. I was 4-4 on my semifinal picks in the bracket contest!

I want to start by saying that I am very disappointed in the coaches and the fans for Wayne Co. at the end of the game. I understnad that your very emotional and you might have felt you got a bad call, but a bad call with 1 min to go in a 28-14 game is not what lost you the game. Absolutely embarassing to start throwing water bottles on to the field during a high school football game. I guess with all the things said this week online I should of expected it. Thats what happens when a team thats convinced that their unbeatable gets beat. Now for the game.... This was the first game I have been to this year because of coaching myself. I had a lot of fun and it makes me miss the high school days. Jo Byrns is notorious for starting fast, but this was not the case tonight and they showed alot of heart and guts to keep their composure and make the comeback. I thought that Jo Byrns did an excellent job "containing" Tyler Rice. We never blitzed him we used #1 to rush him and prevent him from sitting into the pocket. He did burn us a few times, but overall he did not kill us with his legs. He showed that he is not as accurate on the run throwing 3 pics to Brandon Holt. Offensively the running game really stepped it up after being shutdown early. We did enough throwing the ball to get them out of that man to man bs. Frank the Tank is the man! Good luck next week against another very good Offensive team. I think the same game plan would be effective again.

you are just scared to think that jo byrns might be better then wayne co. you know that your team got LUCKY to beat wayne co. earlier this year and you cant phathom a team being better then that. You will see buddy.
