  1. I really do not understand how Regions 6 can say all these things about Jo Byrns schedule being weak. Yes region 6 might be tougher from top to bottom, but that has no bearing on how Jo Byrns would fare in your region. Case in point, Over the past 5 years Jo Byrns is 10-3 against region 6. Including a 4-1 mark against Wayne Co. Until someone proves they can consistently step up and beat Jo Byrns in the playoffs no one should be talking Jo Byrns being overrated. Now on the other end I find it tough to conclude that this jo byrns team is clearly better then jo byrns teams of the past. I guess we will wait and see, I hope so!

  3. I am trying to find out what Dickson Co.'s base defense is, could somebody help me out?
  4. Not so fast. Kenwood caught FC on a night where a key defensive guy was out and the defense wasnt the same without him. They are very young but very talented. Remember they are a 2a team also. They almost came back on CPA and lost by 2. The kenwood game was back and fort until they returned a kickoff late. and not to mention they went toe to toe with a LOADED Pearl Cohn team. PC was much better then Kenwood. FC has gotten better every week and might be the best 0-3 team you can find. I wouldnt be surprised if they finish 6-4 and are still around late in the playoffs this season. Especially since they get their D1 WR back late in the season.
  5. Thought this was a great game! I just wanted to say, though, to all the sp posters that claimed the nfl type speed all over their team....... YEAH RIGHT!!!!! I mean the jones kid was fast for 1a, but he DOES NOT run a 4.4 or 4.5, and neither does anyone else on that team. I saw kids from Union City run down each one of your impossibly fast skill players.
  6. Wow i lost like every other game in the first round!!!! I guess I dont know much about football outside of Middle TN haha.
  7. Although our Malcom Jones is a speedster but i assure you he does NOT!! run a 4.3 40.. I actually doubt anyone in Tn actually does.. do you people realize the world record for the 40 was just broken last year it was held by Deon sanders for years it was a 4.29.. Trust me malcom does not run a 4.3.. we had a cpl players 2 years ago all i saw was he runs a 4.4 and a 4.3 i wont mention there names but Chris Jones and I timed them and they ran a 4.5 and a 4.5.5... we at Spitt always has quickness and a few with pure speed. malcom is fast id like to see the actually clock speed.. Terrell is quick thru the line not breakway speed altho with adrenelin going its hard to catch him if he has 2 steps on you. My prediction is Spitt by 1.... if we can stop UC 3 times it could get ugly.. if not its goining to be a good game... Malcolm actually runs a 4.4...the fastest player on the team is a freshman....Demetric Johnson So you are trying to say that you have two guys with 4.4 or better? This is the most untrue thing I have ever heard. If that is true I would just put them on both sides of the Qb and run GO routes all day. Everbody use to say this about Marco daily too, but he MIGHT have ran a 4.55 at best. There are only a handful of players in the nfl who run sub 4.4 forties. I cannot wait to watch this game, bc I want to see the two fastest players in the state of Tn playing on the same team.
  8. I know Rhodes College would love to have him! I know the school is expensive, but they do a pretty good job of helping you out with that, especially if they want you! I am going to tell the coach about the youtube video. So if u get a call from them, you can thank me later.
  9. no one remembers you if you go 10-0 in the regular season and gets beat in the first round. and if you go 2-8 get in the playoffs then wins the championship no one remembers that 2-8 record. I beg to differ. . . If a 2-8 team won state people would probably remember that Livingston Academy was 5-5 when they won state a few years back!
  10. That's an interesting and very in-depth analysis slimshady, and I've got one similar to that. You know the Heath Kentucky team that we give a beat down to 43-0??? They beat Caldwell County(7-6),who beat Mayfield Kentucky(14-10),who beat Trousdale County(48-40). So going by your "system" it looks like it's a safe bet the we probably take state in class 2A. I like the way you think slimshady! I second that!
  11. My picks: First Round Cloudland over Sunbright Coalfield over Copper Basin Eagleville over Monterey Lookout Valley over Gordonsville Collinwood over Mcewen Perry Co. over Cornersville Gleason over South Fulton West Carroll over Lake Co. Plus Bye Teams Second Round Knox Grace over Cloudland Harriman over Coalfield South Pitt over Eagleville Lookout Valley over MTCS Wayne Co. over Collinwood Jo Byrns over Perry Co. Union City over Gleason Huntington over West Carroll Third Round Knox Grace over Harriman South Pitt over Lookout Valley Jo Byrns over Wayne Co. Huntington over Union City Fourth Round South Pitt over Knox Grace Jo Byrns over Huntington State Championship South Pitt: 35 Jo Byrns: 27 I really hope I'm wrong about that last pick, but at least if it comes true I have this as a consolation prize!
  12. Can you post a link to that predictor. They usually pretty close. I wanted to plug a few teams in and see how it comes out. Thanks, Croz Here's the link: http://www.highschoolsports.net/defaultcal300x250.cfm?ct=matchup&spt=4&division=1 The reason this website is so accurate is because it uses an advanced program that crunches and compares the scores of all games. This is much more accurate then a normal person comparing schools. Since 1A is gonna get settled on the field lets see what it says about Jo Byrns vs. some bigger schools.... Greenbrier: JB by 11 Springfield: JB by 8 Creek Wood: JB by 2 Alcoa: Alcoa by 29 Riverdale: Riverdale by 21 White House: JB by 3 Goodpasture: GHS by 3 Oakland: Oakland by 24 Trousdale Co.: TC by 1 Rossview: JB by 1 DCA: JB by 2 Very interesting stuff!!!! Its all hear say though.
  13. Your crazy!!! Theres only one freshman on the Jo Byrns team who gets any kind of playing time, check your facts. I dont even think JBS has a #3.
  14. I know its hard to compare scores, but here ya go. Pre-season scrimmage Jo Byrns: 6 TD's Watertown: 0 TD's Regular Season game: Jo Byrns: 44 East Rob: 28 with that said, last time East had a good team they got cocky and lost to a bad team in the first round.
  15. Would be smart for some Jo Byrns Reps to come to this game. The way its shaking down, it will be Collinwood in the second round and Wayne Co. in the third round for JBS.
  16. 41-0 Jo Byrns Onslaught started with the opening kickoff.
  17. First of all Logger its Todd County Central! Just thought i would give ya a hard time Looking at Jo Byrns remaining 6 games, I strongly feel like this team has a choice. First they can take the road that JBS took my senior year and just stroll by the competition. Not getting better and winning off of pure talent. Or this team can take another road, a road that sees them getting better every week and working on their weaknesses each week. If this team decides to look at the opportunity in these games rather then seeing an easy opponent then this team might be ok. But I can assure them that if they do take the casual approach to the rest of this season, then they WILL NOT BE READY when playoffs come around. If any of you players still read these posts, I hope that you will express how important it is to get better every single day in practice. My senior year we thought no on could beat us, we thought that we didnt have to work hard to win games, we were too good. As a result yes we won alot of games, but if you look closely we also played alot of sloppy games that were over looked because of the score at the end of the game. This showed when we finally started playing teams that had alot of talent like us. We werent ready to play in tough games, well when your time comes boys....... BE READY!!!!!!
  18. People may say I'm crazy, but Heath was not as bad as we made them look friday night. I honestly think that skills wise they had about as much as a Cascade team we faced a few weeks ago. I think the difference between them and Cascade is coaching. The offense that Heath ran is very hard to run especially when the center cant snap the ball right. They continually had bad snaps and fumbles cause them to lose 10-15 yds at a time. I also think their defensive scheme was alittle shakey. But purely skills wise they were not horrible and some of the Jo Byrns kids would agree. This is another sign of a Jo Byrns team who is continually getting better just like last year. Good job, -40 has to be close to some kind of state record!!! Next week will not be as easy, keep getting better!
  19. I agree if East is lame enough to still somebody elses tradition then have at it. Our guys were already talking about wanting to shut them up last night!! Motivation wont be a problem this week, but this just solidifies that.
  20. Hey Tuck, Since you've seen the game film on him, what does the competition look like Heaths going against? I know they beat Webster County, and Ballard.Basically what I'm asking is could you tell if either of those two teams have any team speed/quickness. I'm glad you're back helping out the team,or atleast that is what I was told. Yes I have seen film. I dont want to really give any details, but I will say that we are better then both teams they have played this year. How much better is the question. Heath was never threatened to lose either game. The player in which everyone is discussing is actually a WR for Heath, but they will try to get him the ball in the backfield some too. The QB is not quite as big as the WR, but he is at least as fast. They are prolly a 60/40 run team. So they do mix it up pretty good. If Jo Byrns contains #8 and #6 they should be ok. And yes I'm helping the team out. I want to be a coach in the future so I figured why not volunteer my time and help out my old team and get some needed experience in the process. Obviously I mostly focus on the LB's. Hope everyone can make it to the game, I know its a long trip, but we need to show the team that we are behind them no matter where they play. Good Day!
  21. 6,3 210 with a 4.6 speed is hard to beleave well believe it, hes good!
  22. Hey New Blue, Just so ya know Frankie never got closer then 7yds from the out of bounds line in his TD run. I would be slow to point fingers to the refs when you couldnt even see the play. I would pass the blame to the three or four guys who had their hands on him and didnt tackle him. Anyways it was a great game, but now its over and I wish Heritage the best of luck for the rest of the season. I was impressed with how well coached they have become since I played them. That staff is doing a good job. As for this week. I have seen film and Heath High School is going to be a very big test. I will not throw out any details, but they have a very talented QB and WR with a lot of speed.
