  1. I think the OC is a guy the he brought from Fulton with him. I am not sure though. I have heard a lot of conflicting information. It seems like a couple of coaches that he hired have since been let go.
  2. I assume with the hiring situation they are in, and pretty much everyone is in for that matter, he will call the defense. I think he brought someone in to do the offense. I have heard that it is a Skelton crew over there at the moment. It's just so difficult to hire coaches for anyone really. I hope he can get some guys in there.
  3. They still have a few young pieces, but they lose the DC's kid who basically did everything for them in their single wing attack. I think they lose a couple of linemen too. I wouldn't expect the record to improve. Give SC a couple of years to get some kids in and then they will have something to work with in that region.
  4. I don't think there is any way to stop that. I think the best Long can hope for is to limit the losses and then try to bring in some kids of his own. Also with the one time transfer rule looming it could get really bad. Not just for Fulton either. Pretty much everyone in Knox County not Bearden or West.
  5. Across the board in Knox County teams are struggling to hire coaches. SD is one of the worst schools in the county so I imagine LA is struggling to get coaches to come. I heard all of the previous staff left. I wonder what went on there. Did LA not reach out to them or something. Seems like he would try to retain as many coaches as he con considering the landscape of hiring coaches now.
  6. I would say most successful high school programs are practicing the 2-minute drill and covering all special teams on a weekly basis. HTV said it best, you have teenagers trying to execute it on Friday in a pressure situation. In a 2-minute drill, a lot of control is taken out of the coach's hands and put in the player's hands because of the situation. In the NFL, it is their job to be great in these situations. In high school, most kids are just trying to talk to girls after the game. Huge difference.
  7. Ah, that makes sense. I was purely wondering about the landscape over there. I know my comment may not have come across that way. Thanks for the insight. Given that, it seems he did a good job with what he had to work with. I can't imagine it is easy to attract talent to Carter. Keeping kids at Carter, or any school in Knox County, is pretty difficult in the current landscape as well.
  8. This is going to sound much meaner than intended, but is Coach P considered a good coach? They have had decent talent the past couple years, but, to my knowledge, have never beat Gibbs or AC. Is that on him or is it their talent?
  9. You said it best. Pretty much every city Knoxville school is a feeder program for the upper tier of Knoxville schools. The sad part is I don't see this dynamic changing until something is done by Knox County. Once the one time transfer rule is approved there will be little chance of a school being able to break through the glass ceiling and get to that top tier imo.
  10. There's no way they go all next week without announcing right? It doesn't seem like they have a plan for what they are doing, but letting this go another week without anything would be absolutely insane. Central is slipping closer and closer to the level of AE.
  11. I usually stay out of 6A talk but I am wondering if there is any hope for either of these programs. HVA is in the middle of a fiasco. Though, it has nothing to do with football. Mo East has been down for a while and being 6A is doing them no favors. Is there any hope for either school and which school has more to look forward to?
  12. What is going on at the other side of Black Oak Ridge. I have been hearing that this job was going to be announced since last Friday and nothing. Heard a couple of college guys have been rumored for it and turned it down. Heard some other guys were after money that Knox County cannot do. I don't know what to believe at this point. Is there an end in sight?
  13. The state of their respective programs are the same. Low numbers, difficult to hire HCs and staff. They appear to be far more similar than different.
  14. This hiring process has been a crap show. How can you wait this long and expect to keep the interest of the kids? They will be losing kids to schools across the county. Central and AE need to play. They are the same program at different locations. What a fall from grace for a school not far removed from back to back state championships.
  15. Are they going to announce this job soon or are they content with playing the season without a coach after all their kids transfer in the summer?
