  1. Parents want to have a voice and an opinion of how things should go, but they only see gamedays. Its tough in todays climate to be a coach. A coach has to sell their program and explain themselves 24/7 to players, parents, and admin. Parents have gone from wanting their kids to learn valuable lessons for life to wanting them to be the star and what is talked about to the news papers. This hurts that TEAM culture that high school sports used to bring to players.
  2. From the outside looking in this seems to be a good job for someone if you can get by the Alcoa situation. Great resources with new facilities. Winnable region every year currently if they doesn't change in the next reclass. Hopefully they can get a guy that can build on the recent success of the program.
  3. Why would either one leave their current situation? Both seem to be at good spots?
  4. HC's need to be seen in the building everyday. Interact with players outside of football practice. It also helps create buy-in from the other people in the building if the HC is seen working in the building. Being in the building also helps solve issues that can happen during the day. If a teacher emails about a student or a player isn't going to class. Being in the building allows for you to deal with those issues first and not the admin or another coach. Not saying it is the only method, but I believe it only helps your program.
  5. I believe this stems from the admin making the decisions have no clue about sports and want it takes to build a successful program. The schools that have that admin work hard to keep their coaches.
  6. I am a fan of football don't necessarily care who they hired. Just stating some of the conversations that need to be had amongst the new coach, admin, and people of the community to potentially help the situation for the better.
  7. Building it and buying it are two different things.............
  8. Knox county schools should be studied as one of the 7 wonders of the world. Nothing ever seems to make sense or have a reason. Seems to make the rules as they go...........
  9. In high school you have to cater everything you do around your players. What do you have to sell them as a program? How are you going to develop them? What keeps them from moving to a successful school in town? You have to create Buy-In no matter the schemes. Some honest conversations need to be had in HV to get to the bottom of the issues. Until then likely no changes will be seen.
  10. You forgot to add the director of Knoxville Recruiting.......... This will be a big hit to Jones Staff
  11. Gold mind job for the right coach. Better make a choice soon before the Knox county recruiters show up....
  12. Kevin Lane Era Begins..................?
  13. Give it time this man will build a successful program at CC. Great hire!
  14. Yes. Hard to find a coach to compete with that.
  15. Must be a long list? Probably working on page 2 of names.
