  1. Milan defeated a strong DCA team tonight. 11-7 at DCA. Freshman Caleb Powell had another strong pitching performance and got the win. Milan will play GC in a district match up Monday and Tuesday. They move to 16-4-1 on the year.
  2. Milan simply outmatched Obion Co. They tend to start off slow hitting wise in the first couple of innings in every game and 2nd time around they seem to always turn it on. Milan is 15-4-1 and take on DCA in Nashville at 6:30 tonight. Next district games for Milan will be Gibson Co this coming Monday and Tuesday.
  3. Sure will! Alcoa WILL run for 250+ yards against Milan. JaRon Toney will finish with between 100-150 yards. Alcoa will only throw the ball 4-5 time max. PLUS, Alcoa WILL hold Milan to 14 points or less! I'm not scared to put it in black and white. I stated Alcoa would win 28-14 last year. Everyone said Milan would score way more than 14 points.............yawn......samething this year. Alcoa will produce sub- stained drives taking 6-8 minutes off the clock. This by simply pounding the rock right at Milan's line. Nothing fancy. BUT, something Milan WILL not stop. Alcoa will control the LOS and make Milan take it. See if I am not right! Alcoa will NOT run for 250+ you. You will get nowhere running up the middle. Alcoa will have no choice but throw the ball more than 5 times. You shall see sir.
  4. About depth? Milan's undefeated.... 28-1 in 2 seasons.. I don't think depth is going to be a factor in this game. It's the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, This is every high school sports player dream. You play through injury and you never give up until the last second. I hope Alcoa thinks Milan doesn't have a chance because if that's the case then "REMEMBER THE DAWGS" will be the headlines in all the papers. Milan fans and players should be very proud of their accomplishments. Runner up and another this year or a state championship is nothing to be ashamed about HOWEVER, if you dont think depth will be a factor in the ball game then Milan is in trouble. By my official roster counts Milan has 66 players to Alcoas 95. Alcoa is a very physical team and Milan fans have liked to say that they are physical as well. In physical games teams will get beat up and wore down but Id gladly take a team with a 30 man advantage in any ball game like that. Lol I don't think anybody will want to be taken out of this game. This is what high school football is all about. Injured or not, you never wanna be out of that game. Making memories and playing to be remembered is what its all about.
  5. Something Milan can not do...............stop Alcoa's run game! LOL you've got to be kidding me. Alcoa will not run over Milan. Not a CHANCE. #19=Superman
  6. Im not worried about Milan. There was a discussion about depth and I put in my 2 cents About depth? Milan's undefeated.... 28-1 in 2 seasons.. I don't think depth is going to be a factor in this game. It's the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, This is every high school sports player dream. You play through injury and you never give up until the last second. 7. There's this little bitty game over here we play called Alcoa vs Maryville. See, everyone praises Alcoas talent but for some reason we've only beat Maryville 3 times since 1993. Now are you saying that Alcoa doesnt have the athletes to play with Maryville? Maryville wasnt always a 4a/6a powerhouse. There have been a lot of great athletes that have come though Alcoa that never beat Maryville. See the key was 10 years ago, Alcoa would dress out 40 players (we had around 300-400 enrollment) and Maryville would dress out 40 SENIORS. Larger schools (on average) have a much bigger advantage because the percentage of people playing football is higher. If you can sub 1 guy in for 2 plays and give another guy 3 minutes to rest that can mean the world in football. Depth is a HUGE factor in most football games. Elizabethton has some great athletes on their team but you could clearly see when their team was on the field during pre game and they were out numbered by alcoa on the other side (and the linemen were still in the locker room) that it was going to be a beat down (physically). Go back and check the scores of Alcoa-Maryville games from '93 to 2000. Look at how bad Alcoa would get beat down in most of the games. Then go look at the past 5-6 years when Alcoa has had depth. Sure we might lose the game still but its no longer 49-14 is 21-17 I mean really? Who cares about Alcoa-Maryville. Thought this was a Milan/Alcoa thread. Your best bet is to worry about the DOGS
  8. Lol I love knowing who all the posters are from Milan because I shake there hand personally everytime I see them. But they just don't know who I am. I think ill put Avery Williamson up against ANYBODY from Alcoa and put my money on him EVERYTIME.
  9. Lol yal people crack me up. I mean to think that adults can act the way they do over an online thread lolololololol But anyways here I go. Milan's D is one of the best they've had over the years and i know you ALL know about Avery Williamson=DON=UK Signee k? K enough said. Milan's D will stay true again Friday and show everyone how to hit and STOP the run. Milan's offense. I believe this is all up on Milan's O Line. If they can get some push up front then I believe Jobronski and Avery can put up some points. I think this will be a low scoring game though. I think we can all agree that Alcoa has the slight edge but Milan just never gives up. I hope to see Milan pull this one out in a close one::::::::: MILAN 24 ALCOA 21 BRING IT HOME DAWGS
  10. Come on man its Dog Rules= To be the big dog you gotta have the swagger of the big dog. We've always talked that talk and walked that walk. Alcoa is a great team everyone knows that but so is Milan. Milan is the West Tenn Dynasty and always will be. Alcoa and Milan will always meet at some point in the BIG game. That's how its going to be and always will be. To get respect you gotta earn respect and the only team that deserves it so far is Alcoa.
  11. Milan will dominate the first 4 rounds. Milan's running game is to powerful and Milan's D is to aggressive. You can not run the ball on Milan at all. If you try to pass you better get rid of it quick or else SACK. If you try to scramble you will be hit HARD. Oh and btw, those 10-15 out of district players that go to Alcoa. Those are ALWAYS the studs IMO.
  12. In the Milan vs GC game yesterday milan had so many opportunities to capitalize with bases loaded twice with 1 out. I thought at one instance milan shoulda squeezed in the situation and when the opportunity arose again i cant beleive that milan didnt squeeze in 6th. 2 missed opportunities equals a key loss and a fight from a tough losing bracket that seems impossible to make it out of.
  13. from what i hear Milan is supposed to play today at 430 (guessing that is finishing up the GC game) and from what i hear about the bracket its supposed to be finished up by thursday. The way i interpreted it is that if you lose a game then you got double headers for the rest of the way. And my guess is that GC is gonna come back with Tate, prolly their only chance to silent the Milan bats and get that big win for them. I hope to see the young dogs come out and pound it out big time against GC and get it rollin for the tourney. Dont care who milan pitches it shouldnt matter. Go Dawgs
  14. Christian Coleman of Milan has 10 homeruns on the year i do believe. the 6'2" 225 lb Sophomore 3rd baseman/Pitcher/Football star for Milan can absolutely mash and throw gas to only be a 15 yr old kid.
  15. I haven't watched many of the games this year but from what i ve seen there is no stand out team in 13AA. Yes DC has the respectable record but from what i saw of them there record doesnt reflect how good they are. I believe any of these teams can beat one another at any time. I like Milan and Westview as sleepers in the up and coming district tournament. I believe if Milan can put a game together piece by piece and play like they are capable then they will be extremely hard to beat. I look for one of the two: "Milan or Westview", to make it out of the tournament and after that with a little bit of luck and some breaks might possibly might make a deep playoff run. Go Dawgs.
  16. There is no way that you can put Milan at #4 that is ridiculous. USJ in front of Camden? I dont think so. You got this one all messed up
  17. Blah blah blah blah. USJ has no chance. Period. Gilbert will do his thing and milan will come away with a victory against USJ as always.......... /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  18. i dont think this match up was even worth a thread. Milan will dominate Period. Dawgs-48 Vikings-7. Gilbert 4 tds 150+ on the ground. Just another day at the office for him.
  19. well yall can sit here and talk bs all day but come friday night the bulldogs will walk away with the victory. Plain and simple. I think it ll be closer than expected but Milan wins this one 33-14. 2 extra points missed
  20. I dont think somebody is an idiot to think that milan will put up 56 because it is very possible that they might. Camden will not stop Moo Gilbert and if they try to then Coleman will go to the air and beat the Lions deep. I think Milan wins this one 35-14. Get out your popcorn footballfan2004 you'll need it after you get proven wrong. Get out of em
  21. i only reply to the manner at which the post i am replying too. The guy had no class in trying to talk down the dawgs so i just thought id throw it in his face. No harm to the stangs fan i thought it was a great game at first. Just giving the dawgs the applause they deserve after that game. Goodluck to the Stangs
  22. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA good god what did i tell you about bringin that weak offense to Johnnie Hale. Plz i ve never seen Milan put in the 3RD STRING versus the MIGHTY MIGHTY MUSTANGS. Keep talkin that smack and you ll get it dished right back at you from me. Jobronski Gilbert OWNED yall. Good god i thought it was gonna be a close game not a Stang ROUTING. Oh and by the way how did those purple fireworks look after we put up 53 on you buddyyyyy? hhahahahahaha get used to the color its gonna be talked about allllllllllllllllllllllllllll year long. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  23. Ha you just named 5 stang players that i have neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr heard of. Best offense huntingdon has ever seen? yeah i seriously doubt that one but you bring that weak offense into johnnie hale and go ahead and get ready to get OWNED by the purple pack. Gilbert no rushing yards? hahahahahaha it wouldnt surprise me if on the first drive he breaks a 70 yd td run and ends up with over a 100 yds in the 1st quarter alone. Milan wins this one close but enough for braggin rights Dawgs-28 Stangs-14
  24. Lets be serious. Milan IS the West TN "Dynasty". Cant think of the dawg without thinkin of that purple and white.
  25. well i tell you what alcoa is looked upon as a force and everybody wants to beat them and they always have that target on their back. Yes milan is very strong and very capable because milan's coaching staff is one of the best in the state. the only way milan win's that game and gets to the boro is if qb Justin Coleman stays healthy. if he goes down to injury then i say Milan is strictly doomed.
