Never said Kelvin was slow.. I've seen all these kids play almost every game they've played, and I've played plenty of pickup games with all of them. They all can play i was just saying the quote saying he's the best hands down is going a little far. when you're winning by 30 you can have your 3 best players on the bench, anyone with a hot hand can get a few points against a team you have twice the tallent of, and its easy for anyone to look like they are shutting down someone when the guy he's guarding can't play. He's a good player who is going to improve and i hope he has many 30 point games this year...... but saying the best shooter hands down because of one hot game is saying too much. Thats just taking away from the other proven players who have worked hard also.

Hands down?? Thats going way too far. Yes Kelvin can shoot the ball well but we're not talking about playing H.O.R.S.E. . Kelvin can't get his own shot like Dexter and Todd can, Kelvin also often takes horrible shots. Plus shooting is about all he does well, not a great defensive player, not a great rebounder, doesn't dazzle with ball handling , not a great leaper or lightning quick either. He will knock down several open shots on kick outs and on double teams of Blakley , Jenkins and Manning , but saying the hands down best shooter is a bit much. P.S. Is your website gonna be updated anytime soon? I think its a great idea! I'm sure time is an issue for you , but it would be great.

When did Whites Creek beat them? Sorry but I'm from East Tn. and I only saw the state tournament. I saw siegel and they looked good plus they were young. I don't remember a Whites Creek they must not have made it to the 'Boro what happened there if they are so much better than siegel?

Yeah. A big difference between CHS and CCHS these days, at least CCHS took a step in the right direction giving Ray Evans the head coaching job. He'll have Wade Wester as the freshman coach and JV. , thats two coaches with a great background as players in highschool and college. Looking foward to a big year from the Cosby team, only weakness i can see might be team chemistry, or possibly the lack of a true point guard. But thats what coaches get paid for andi'm sure Cosby will be just fine this year its time to go back to the 'Boro. Good luck guys!

I had never seen Doaks play until the boro , and it looked like he flat out carried that team! he looked deserving!

Keith Ramsey deserves to be mentioned on the same breath as all of these other players! This was the first year i've seen him play and i watched both of his games in the boro, he is the real deal. He does so much for his team ,as much as any player in this years tourny. I'm not saying he's the best, but i would believe ACC. p.s. what about the great showing from some of my east tn. teams this year you'd never know we play ball at this end of the state

from what i've seen most of the kids from cchs and cosby get along pretty well, as with any in county schools there will be some rivalry between the schools. PTS has a great point, the highschool basketball in cocke county would improve if the feeder programs were coached better and more emphasis was put on making these kids better ball players instead of it being a personal quest for the coaches to prove something. these players from cosby have done exceptional considering they don't play any real comp until they get into highschool. as bad as i hate to admit thats why NGS ball players always had that little edge because they were exposed to some out of county competition. some of the coaches at the elementary level have never even played much basketball therefore they can't teach it. kudos to john bible for trying to help with his camps over the summer (were are ur camps wade wester?) but maybe we should start a different thread for this convo. just putting in my 2 cents worth sorry for babbling p.s. PTS has had nothing but positive things to say in all his post. he hasn't shown any bias at any time. this is appreciated on a site over runned by sarcasm, people who are cynical, and just plain smart ......allecs thx PTS thumb thumb
