  1. Should be an excellent match-up tonight in Williamson Co. Both teams have tremendous talent and coaching. This is the 3rd round of the playoffs, everyone will be hyped. This game comes down to turnovers and avoiding big plays on both sides of the ball for each team. The Patriots were not in sync first go 'round. Not saying that to take away from CHS, they executed flawlessly with the exception of the early missed snap. HC was unable to capitalize on that opportunity for 7 and again on the 4th down play which were big swings in momentum. Personally, I like the role of underdog. Sometimes, you need to be backed into a corner to find out what you are made of. Henry Co. will have to create and take advantage of opportunities tonight. Fundamentals football, wrap up/protect the ball/pressure the QB. Both teams are banged up which could also be a factor either way. Control the controlables, and when you arrive...arrive violently! GO BIG RED!
  2. HC took a tough loss last week from a very talented Liberty team. Difference in the game was a breakdown on special teams, with the Patriots running out of time at the 5 yd line. It wasn't a blow out. For as much trouble as our offensive front line had with what I think was one of the best defensive lines I have seen, they will progressively get better each week. No need to hit the panic button just yet, this HC team will be a lot better at the end of the season, going to have to grind it out a little this year.
  3. Disagree....1) a tradition has been reborn, and the players will come into their own, no one saw this 4 years ago either but with the participation that Coach Gaddis and his staff have brought about, the talent will surface for HC to stay a healthy program 2) the community will continue to support/feed off of the Patriots success, as will the athletic program (the boys basketball team has a great shot this year as well, and the girls are coming around) Comments like this bother me, and, it is a mentality we as a community/athletes/parents/coaches cannot succumb to, and if you feel this way but are a fan of HC, why would you post it for everyone else to read????? BELIEVE! Great job this season guys, shake it off, and hit the weights. Put your best foot forward, and prepare/enable yourselves to take the next step. Lastly, good luck to Maplewood/Maryville this weekend.
  4. HC by 14, Teague and Allen will combine for 150+ rushing, depth will be too much for the Chargers.
  5. Westview will come in with size, decent speed, and confidence. Henry Co. will come in with more size, more speed and more confidence. This game will be a good one, but HC to win, but it will be a hard faught battle. HC has momentum, just need to focus on execution because Coady will have a well disciplined team. I expect Westview to try and manage the clock and keep the HC offense off of the field, our defense will need to have another good week or growth/maturity for some of the younger guys. Don't overlook this team HC, let's get the victory and head into the off week on a good note. Go Pats!
  6. I agree Drew, those first few posts look to be the work of the Yanker, or some Yanker wannabees, trying to put some bulletin board material out there. Great win for the Pats last night, but Westview will be in my opinion on the same level as Dickson. This will be a good football game, don't get caught up in classifications. The Big Red need another good, focused week of practice, and buckle up for a hard hitting game this coming Friday night. Coach Gaddis will have the players focused, I just hate that we will be reading trash all week leading up to it! Go Big Red.
  7. Impressive showing by the Patriots last night, the offensive line continues to gel and we are on the right track thus far in the season, I am eager to hear the thoughts of our visitors last night, and to see if they can get past their bias for some really good comments....Gentleman (and I use the term loosely Yanker...), you have the floor...
  8. The O-line did well against a very good Dickson defensive front. There is still room for improvement, but they are showing signs of progression dating back to the Father Ryan scrimmage. The team as a whole fought back against the advercity of the first quarter, and settled into the game and got it done. Both of these squads are good, and will have a pretty good season ahead. As I have said in earlier posts, this is a great measuring stick of where you are and what needs to improve, both sides learned some things last night. It was a great game, good luck to Dickson rest of the year, and here is to the big Red keeping it rolling!
  9. As bad as I hate to admit it, Yanker makes a good point here, and both Dickson and HC could take heed. This is a huge rivalry, but the implications from this game are not near as important as it is predominantly a great early season test for both squads to measure up where they are at and what needs to be improved upon. HC capitalized on a loss to DC last year, and continued to build a team that was able to make a run deep into the playoffs. After last week, it is hard to tell where we are at, but this game will let us know for sure. Dickson comes in with some returning starters, they will have better than average size, and word has it more speed. Ironically, these same attributes apply to the Patriots this season as well. It was a close ball game last year, and I expect the same this year, the advantage is the huge crowd that will be on hand tonight at Patriot stadium, get out and get loud. Patriots by 6!
  10. Great job by the Patriots of not playing down to the level of competition. NW is obviously still in the midst of a major rebuilding period, and we wish the new coach best of luck and the members of that staff/faculty well with all they have dealt with during the off-season. On to the Patriots, we did a lot of things good this past Saturday night. The line looked much better, and the defense was stifling (only gave up 4 first downs I believe I heard). I am sure Coach Gaddis will use this film to really look at assignments and critique it very well. The running game looked good, and we ran the ball hard, and we have some good hands on the receiving end. Teague did a good job both trowing and passing the ball, and has great vision on the field and feel in the pocket thus far. One game down, 9 to go, just hope we keep getting better each week. Go Pats!
  11. The game scheduled for tonight with Henry Co. visiting Clarksville NW has been postponed until tomorrow evening, and early word has it that the game will be played at Clarksville NE. They are having a power outage and the game will not be tomorrow night, it will be at 7:30 tomorrow night.
  12. Everyone calm down, THE SEASON HAS YET TO START, all of this is done in preparation of the season. It is a scrimmage, score is not near as important as identifying areas you will need to work on for the impending season. Anyone who has played in the sport can tell you, it is hard to get organized when you only have 10 plays, and have no real idea what the other team is going to be doing (no film to study for formations, trends). I am looking forward to the scrimmage tomorrow evening with Father Ryan, which will be in a game format and will allow us to really see what we have and what we have to work on in the coming week. As for the Patriots, we are young, and they are not ready for the championship game just yet, and we weren't ready for the semi's at the start of last year either, but got their by getting better throughout the year. I made the mistake of being negative early on last year and put some posts out here that I wish I could have taken back, I hope no one else makes that mistake. Yanker, give us some more insight as to the situation down in Jackson (it hurts to actually ask you to post...just kidding). Good luck everyone, 8 more days...
  13. Relax fellas/ladies, all of this bickering will shift from anticipation to fact in just 9 more days. However, I agree that this beast known as the internet can ruin the fun, just look at what has happened to YouTube...but that is a whole other topic. Glad to hear that Dr. Norman is OK, and looking forward to the scrimmage with Father Ryan on Friday night, again, these young men are working hard for each team and I wish them best of luck this season, it will all play out soon enough, and the shift will occur from jabbing words to eating them...
