I would rate McMinn County's performance in the state tournament the last few years as dissappointing. They are underachievers. For the last three years they have had arguably the best talent in the state. Unfortunatly they cannot put it together when it counts. They rely too much on athleticism and have no sense of organization. Maybe instead of beating people 17-0 in the regular season they should use those games to get better. Maybe possess the ball a bit, work on something that will help you when the time comes to face a Hendersonville. In all honesty they were outplayed by Soddy Daisy and didn't look great against Cookeville. I would certainly rate the season's end as dissappointing but predictable. Who is to blame? Thoughts?

Wow, this could really be a great tournament. If I was picking a final I would certainly have to go with Grace vs. Boyd, but I think anyone is capable of being there. Central vs. Boyd-Boyd should come in as the favorite but this could be a closer game than most think. They played a very even match the first time with Boyd scoring in the last 15 minutes and Central having one cleared off the line just before the final whistle. The second leg should be just as exciting. Boyd is certainly playing well right now and will be tough to handle. Central's midfield, which is pretty good, will have to play well to make up for their anemic forwards. Prediction- Boyd 2-1. Grace vs. Sweetwater- This seems to be the matchup everyone is anticipating. Unfortunatly I do not see it being very close. While Sweetwater has the better athletes, Grace is certainly the better side. Sweetwater is very unorganized and Grace will take advantage of that. The score will be close but the game will not. Prediction- Grace 4-2. By the way, Grace's goalie, while apt to making strange errors, is one of the better ones in the area. Again these predictions basically spell out why the favorites should win but anyone who really knows the game will tell you that this could be a great tournament. It shouldn't surprise anyone to see Sweetwater or McMinn Central in the finals. We will see how it turns out. Good luck boys.

Just out of curiosity. Who is the coach at Station Camp?

McMinn Central was beaten by LC but not destroyed. They lost 2-1 and had the lead for a while. LC was the better team, but it was a well fought game. I believe you are thinking of Bradley Central who was beaten by LC 8 or 9 to nil. I was a bit surprised by the Sweetwater/LC result. I thought LC would take that one. I believe, in the end, they will be a top team.

I was looking forward to some more of bigdon's hating. I was hoping he would try to come up with some other reason for hatin' WV. I don't think he wants any. I have got this board on lockdown. Bigpoppa20.......coming straight from frame 138.

Don't hate, Bigdon....I see another one gets a front seat on the green bus with one way ticket to WV envy. See I take all this negativity in and use it. I stack it up in a big pile, maybe ten feet high, and when you least expect it I jump off that negative energy, which is now in the form of a pile, onto your jealous head. Once again a Central fan finds out how to use a computer and makes their way, by accident, to the message board and proceeds to hate on Walker Valley. But WV can take it. Vagrent, official, disgruntled former employee, hater, nay sayer.....all these names seem to hit the nail on the head when it comes to atn301. I am not sure which of these names fit, maybe none, maybe all. I do know this, atn301 has about as much basketball IQ as a freshly cleaned shoe. Anyone who would question the expertise of some of the great minds of our day....David Tucker, any Bradley County coach, Jamie Depity, or anyone else who chooses the basketball bench as their own personal Levi's catwalk...doesn't follow Mr. Naismith's sport too well. Riddle me this Mr. atn301, why so bitter? Why such a hater? Why not appreciate the dynasty that is WV? Year in and year out they seem to compete at the highest level. Just look at their record. What other team can boast such a stronghold on District 5-AA's second place spot? What other team makes it an annual occurence to be in the District and Region championship? What other team I say? While we're at it...show love to Bradley County in general. Tell us that behind closed doors you want to be a part of it. Maybe one day we will know the real story. But until then...keep your cup for change, or your official's jersey, or your pink slip from Bradley County Schools, or whatever it is that you use to define yourself. Keep those things close while Bradley County schools keep on winning, or almost winning....as is usually the case.
