the thing that bothered me about the Milan field is that there WAS room to make it bigger. There was plenty of room on the sides and in back to make that field more competitive. As it is the 18 yrd keeper box is like 3 yards from the sideline....pitiful. And any decent keeper just punts it to one another....I really hate minimum requirement fields.

D-burg is losing 4 starters and most importantly our keeper. We do have a talented group of Freshmen coming in so we will see.

I Think....You know, in the past it was just a given that D-burg or Westview would end up hosting and both have good fields and infrastructures (bathrooms, concession stands, decent lights). This year with Milan being first seed and being the host has brought to light the problem of acceptable playing surfaces. I hate it for Crockett and Obion but I do not think anything can be done this year. Unless someone acts quickly and Milan allows it to be played, say, at Dyersburg it will stay at Milan. Also, I do not the TSSAA position (if there is one) on poor fields for Regional games. The Milan field (as small and unkempt as it is) DOES meet minimum requirements and they do have lights.

on the other side I THINK it is Lexington VS TCA (who last time they played went 2-2) and then Kingsbury VS Sheffield. I think Lexington may take their game and who knows with Kingsbury v Sheffield.

Crockett has an outstanding back defender, #12, that is hard to beat. The game between Crockett and Obion will be a hard fought one for sure. Lots of fan support on both sides. That being said I do not think either will make it out of sub-state just because the other region has a much tougher schedule and are hard to beat. Hate D-burg lost but I am glad to see other schools in the West developing their programs. I think it is good for the West that Westview and Dyersburg aren't the only ones ever representing.

I am gonna go ahead and make a prediction. It will be Crockett and Obion Central going to Region 7 finals with the surprise winner being Obion Central. I do not even know who they would play in sectionals so can't make any calls there.

LOL! Lemme tell ya! Dyersburg will NOT be at State this year. We will be lucky to make it through Regional Semi's tonite. After losing so many seniors last year this year has definitely been a rebuilder and a disappointment to say the least. Injuries have also been a huge issue.

Dyersburg was proud to play CAK and to be in the State tournie...don't feel sorry for us...or say it was a sad way to end the season....what was sad was the CAK student fans who were behind the Dyersburg goalie in the 2nd half and who constantly harassed and screamed at the Dyersburg players during the game. Shame of all of you who saw this and did nothing....I guess going to a "Christian" school is mostly show....way to set an example. Jenny Stapleton DHS mom and wife of DHS head Coach.

final score 12-0 Dyersburg. Wasn't at the game tonight but I know the JV and Jr. JV went in early so don't start with any comments. North West Tn soccer has extremely different skill levels than Memphis or Middle or East TN. This was a district game not an easy win to pad our stats.....
