Man, I hated to miss such a great game. Sounds like to me that CPA really got screwed here. Yea, if they would have made their free throws, then they would have won, but its a shame that TSSAA puts ref's like these on the floor in a state championship. Id much rather see the kids decide the game on the court rather than the ref's decide it for them. Also, this is the STATE Tournament, how can we not get a half-way decent clock keeper? Its time for TSSAA to step their game up and let the kids decide these games. Good job and good luck the rest of the way to DC. And good effort from CPA. I am one of those that thought they didnt have much of a chance in this ball game.

He came to Florida because of coach Donovan. Then, after his freshman year, Brandon Powell and Brandon James (KR for football team) were caught in a police sting buying marijuana. Billy basically told him to hit the road. Its a shame to see these great athletes getting in trouble while in college. I guess you dont realize what you have got until it is gone.

Your talking about Brett Jackson. Yea he walked on at UT and he is being redshirted this year. And Roooooot was defiantly a crowd favorite at Memphis.

Middleton is a very tough place to play. And combine that with the teams that Larry Smalley puts on the floor, and they are nearly unbeatable at home. But, I do remember in some recent years that the Cardinals went into Bailey Howell and beat Middleton in the 02-03 season, and the 03-04 season. So Greg Martin knows what it takes to win there. I expect a good game, but then again it could be a total blowout, who knows. Good luck to coach Smalley and his Tiger squad tomorrow night.

Both of these games are very interesting. Having seen all four teams play, I think both games could be coin flips. TCA is on a roll, and one of the hottest teams in West TN. Fayette Academy almost, and probably, should have beat Middle College. Fayette will keep it close, but I like TCA at home. JCS has been playing some pretty good ball as well here recently. They have some pretty good guard play and that will help them against Middle College. Middle College is very athletic, but they make you scratch your head sometimes. If # 15 for Middle College comes out and takes some shots and makes them, then JCS could be in for trouble. Im gonna take Middle College in a close one, because of their superior athleticism. Both games should be very entertaining to watch for sure. As for the Adamsville - Middleton game, it should also be a good game. Adamsville is scuffling a little bit, but they know what they got to do. Middleton is playing good, and playing Middleton at Middleton is a bad combination. The Cardinals must rebound the ball and try to slow down cheers and murden as much as possible. Should be some very entertaining ball games across the region this weekend.

So here we go again. Adamsville slips up in the district tournament again, and are rewarded with a trip to the friendly confines of Bailey Howell gymnasium. After winning 14 ballgames in a row to end the regular season, Adamsville didnt play very good ball in either one of their district tournament games. Meanwhile, Middleton had a good showing at home against Manassas and already has two wins over the Cardinals this year. I believe you will see a much better showing from the Cardinals than you did last year at Middleton in this same game. Who wins this one?

Middleton put up a good fight, but in the end Manassas was just to much for them. And im afraid Manassas may be to much for every team in the state. A Manassas - Union City match-up would be very intriguing.

As for as all the teams in Memphis right now NONE is playing better than MANASSAS. I believe this team is the best in Memphis and possibly all the TSSAA in any division.

Humbolt and the rest of the state is just playing for second...humbolt may have gotten better but i watched Manassas tonight the way the play i wouldn't be surprised to see them give U of M a run

13-A is defiantly the weakest district in the state. The 15-A regular season champ (Adamsville) beat the 13-A regular season champ (McKenzie) by 60! Both districts are pretty weak and defiantly could use some realignment.

Noticed that a few had mentioned a all alumni county team here's a pretty good one. Ken Bingham PG MCHS Mike Walker SG MCHS Neal Walker SF MCHS Matt Hoover PF AHS Anthony Brooks C AHS Reserves: Shannon Wyke MCHS, West Tn Athlete of the Year, Kenny Walker MCHS, lost him in a car wreak before his senior season, may have been the best all time in county, Shawn Davis, MCHS great player, Rashawn Pollard, MCHS. Alonzo Sutton AHS, Blake McAfee PG, AHS great defender and vision, Kevin McClain AHS, PG great competitior. Brett Jackson, SF, AHS best basketball still ahead of him. And take any shooting guard that AHS has had in the past 15 yrs to many to name but they have always had someone who could light it UPPP.

I think both teams in this rivalry wouldnt care how many points they gave up, as long as they got the win that night.

Adamsville completes the season sweep of their in county rival. Adamsville came out a little on the sluggish end and never really got it going at all in the first half. Mcnairy led at one point by 16 in the first half and had a 14 point lead at the break. But, the Cardinals battled back and played some ball in the second half, erasing the 14 point deficit and taking a lead of their own. Some clutch shots down the stretch from some young players sealed the deal for the Cardinals. Adamsville - 90 Mcnairy - 85

Life has a way of sometimes making us ask why? But for my money Kenny Walker at McNairy Central might have been one kid from this west TN area that could have been one of the all time greats. He was killed in a car accident shortly before his senior season, but man could he do things on the court. Neal Walker was another west tn great. Harvey Marshall from Jackson SS, went to play at Nebraska. No one could score as quickly as Corrie Johnson, just a few names of interest.

Whats the best Round 2 match up this week in West Tn? Goodpasture at Camden Bruceton at TCA Huntingdon at Milan ???

Riverside beat TCA today and JCS beat Adamsville 11-7. Adamsville vs Riverside tomorrow...loser goes home...winner will play JCS at 6:30 tomorrow night.
