Freshman are off again this week... I think in this game that we are going to do like we did against Brighton we are going to line it up run our bread and butter plays and go to the house if we get a 3rd and long then you might see a pass play but we will run run and run some more and do everything we can to not get anyone hurt.... kuddos to maplewood for playing this game as they have nothing to gain from it see you all FRIDAY NIGHT GO WARRIORS

Its that 'talent pool' that has run dry I keep hearing about evidently. I guess you can see potential from freshman results. But dont start reading the tea leaves. In my opinion freshman results dont neccessarly translate to varsity results. Three years is a long time. Many things can happen. For instance the 2009 Blackman team dominated their middle school and Freshman years. Although they had some success, that team really didnt do much their varsity years. Also thses two teams, Smyrna and Riverdale, played in the Feshman Championship game. The Bulldogs routed the Warriors. Now look at how things have shaped up. All it takes is a couple of really good players to make a dominate freshamn team. Much different at the varsity level. For me it is hard to see the future based on Freshman results. The one thing that you can say about riverdale is that you have a powerhouse PROGRAM again. I agree with you...however my excitement isnt as a fan like it always has been it is as a parent and that changes however i can still see talent and i can see the potential so my excitment does mean if they work hard and improve like they should over the course of their high school years I also believe that you can have 1 bad freshman class and still be ok on varsity but if you start having 2 or 3 bad classes then you will see it at the varsity level so it is good to have a good freshman class and hopefully we can keep the boys in school and on the field over the course of their high school days

what a great game that was...I was right that our experience was gonna play huge for us to get the win but i was WAY WRONG on the margin... I OBVIOUSLY didnt give smyrna the PROPS they deserved...smyrna defense looked REALLY good...they were very disiplined and you could tell they was prepared for what we was going to run so I dont think Smyrna made any mistakes maybe the blocked punt but they protected the ball well they blocked well they did all the fundamentals well...our big mistake was the fumble at mid field and we had 3 pass interference calls which 2 of them i totally disagreed with and the other i understood but didnt like the call... NOW FOR MY WARRIORS I am very proud of this team on how they overcame some of their mistakes and when they got the ball with 6 minutes to go they took it down and scored the TD that was the maturity and experience that i was talking about another thing that i liked was yes they was happy to win but when the game was over they acted like they had done it before they didnt act like they just won state or a huge playoff game they acted like they won a tough district game now we step out of district play next week and play Maplewood GREAT JOB WARRIORS

well the RIVERDALE freshman played smyrna today and the opening kickoff smyrna takes it to the house and that was all they did as RIVERDALE wins 35-6 we had 4 turn overs inside the 20 we need to protect the ball better and that was the only problem with todays game defense was outstanding i believe that smyrna probalby had negative yards on offense and the offense moved the ball VERY well...B did not start today but when he got in he did well we dont have a game for the next 2 weeks so he has 2 weeks to pull his sleeves up and get to work and get his spot back...it is a good problem for us to be so deep and that only means good things come varsity time great game today freshman and now lets do it on varsity

I think we have to mature of a team and I am sure the players will be reminded that last weeks win did not win the district nor count as adistrict win we are playing Smyrna and if they have a hang over with smyrna coming up then we are in more trouble than what we think...I SAY THERE WILL BE NO HANGOVER AND WE WILL BE MORE THAN READY my RIVERDALE WARRIORS WIN THIS ONE BIG...35-7

who from 7AAA was playing in that game other than RIVERDALE?...we only showed our skill and talent having said that I hope that translates into a victory against our 7AAA opponents

Please dont take this the wrong way...was it a nice win YES but we have had a lot of wins that were bigger and more important in our history than that one and thats not including the state championships wins... as far as our QB when he was in 8th grade i thought he was gonna be another good ball player for us and all last year as far as a QB he is better at that time than Dave Thomas was he is a special athlete and QB with great speed and a great arm but to me he has that IT factor and he is just a JR love that young man and I am so proud of him and his work ethic and i pray he helps lead us to a state championship as far as Kreager goes he is a great guy that is in a no win situation he really doesnt care which team does what but he enjoys sports and gets paid a little bit of money to write about it and unfortunatly they have lost several writers and they never replace them Rutherford county has grown and gotten more high schools but has a lot smaller staff and if he was gonna pick the home team all the time well then he would just be a homer so cut him a little slack

I watched the second half on that web site i first want to give credit to the web site i had no issues with the film quality and also thanks to my att DSL internet lol I told yall last week that i had a feeling that we wasnt showing anything by not showing the ball and i said that we was probably saving it well not bad this week huh I am PROUD OF MY WARRIORS we made mistakes but we also created misstakes and we did a great job as a team executing and performing WAY TO GO WARRIORS I must go to bed as I am 3 hours past my bedtime lol

i think the kids you saw that wasnt on the roster were freshman players...I know of at least 1 freshman that got to dress with varsity and I am sure there were a couple more that also dressed I thought our game was on ESPN 2 on saturday is that not the case?

Not sure if you was commenting on me on the tackling its wasnt the best EVER but it was the best we have seen in a while i thought there were several good open field tackles and they used their shoulder pads more was it great the whole game through?..NO but for the first game of the season i thought it was pretty good...and i am confident that it will get better as the season progresses... as for the passing we didnt do a whole lot of it and this is just my OPINION and its not based on any knowledge at all but i think our coaching staff felt that we should win this game as long as we protect the ball and play our game so it is MY OPINION that all we wanted to do was run our core plays and execute you will see more passing this coming week IN MY OPINION

wow we looked really good tonight just like we had been during the scrimmages...49-6 was the final and the clock didnt stop in the second half i like that rule and I dont like that rule...the reason why i dont is because it really taked away opportunities from the second and third stringers playing time but i understand it I thought our tackling was the best it has been in YEARS I thought all of our back looked good Brighton was determined not to let Adam break free every time there was a handoff to him or a fake seemed like he had 2 or 3 guys on him not a whole lot of day light for him to run in. I hope that is from what Brighton was doing and not from what we wasnt doing that is up to the coaches to decide...we did great on our criss cross play clean handoffs each time and broke them for long runs and Dillon did a nice job of managing the game...we did not throw a whole lot today I think that was by design I am real pleased with our defense so far (including scrimmages) and with so many returning offensive weapons i am not surprised on how we looked there Marcellous had a great run after the catch he made a nice cut back and even used the official to help block lol GREAT JOB TONIGHT WARRIORS NOT GO GET READY FOR SATURDAY NIGHT GO WARRIORS

i thought #35 for cookevillle was a HOSS as well we have a pretty good team dont know where they went in the second QTR lol but they responded greatly in the second half I was proud of my WARRIOR i thought he did a great job (keep in mind i am daddy so coaches may think otherwise during film study lol)he had 2 false starts and he has got to clean that up but i thought he did good (done with daddy moment lol) i thought our #6 looked good and of course Austin ran the ball good (5) we ran the ball really well and i thought our defense played great and had several nice open field tackles i dont know what our record will be but i do like the talent we have on the field and looking forward to them on varsity when their time come

Well as most of you know i have 4 boys and have been a LONG time RIVERDALE WARRIOR FAN and supporter and for the first time 1 of my boys will take the field as a RIVERDALE WARRIOR FOOTBALL freshman PLAYER he has also earned a starting spot I am proud of Bryan and the hard work he has put in to achieve this accomplishment...my older 2 boys did baseball and the other twin has decided to concentrate on basketball so I am extremely PUMPED for tonight GO WARRIORS

I think we handle this one 35-7 they get a long pass off late for the TD our pass defense in scrimmages have been very aggressive and has looked really good and I am hopeful that carries over to the game...Ive been to the scrimmages and almost all the passes have been challenged so i am confident that this has been fixed and we win handidly GO WARRIORS

I thought we looked really good again today i thought our defense has continued to look good and everyone knew we was gonna do well offensivly with so many returning. I see a lot more players flying to the ball and people being around the ball and not as much cushion as what we had last year on recievers...Gallatin hit a long pass with the second teamers that our DB misplayed but other than that we played VERY SOLID in every phase of the game having said all of that with 12 players suspended (which is a lot) you dont know who we was going against as far as depth.... and one little side note I have heard that smyrna has also suspended some of their players for the altercation and a couple of kids have been suspended for a QTR....hmmmm

i thought that is what you did in football espcially scrimmages and practices

another good scrimmage for us today...as always there are things to clean up and do better but i thought we looked really good we also look deep we are playing alot of players on both sides of the ball and our defense is much improved still a little arm tackling but i think that will get better as game day gets here Dillion and Andrew Dale looked good at QB Dale has got a great arm we all know Dillion does i thought our dbs looked good we had several break ups and a pick 6 but someone was always there in good position we had a PI called on us but i dont think that gets called in a real game our guy was in better postion to catch the ball than the WR was but its ok good scrimmage

I think they named their coach this past friday but i dont remeber the name of the guy

you should be able to get them wed at the scrimmage and they are $35 if you are unable to attend let me know and I will get them for you and meet you with them as long as Bryan (my son) gets credit for them lol

I am sorry it has taken me so long to get on here (like yall care huh lol) I had a great time friday at the scrimmage!!! The rain made the day even better than it was as the varisty moved its scrimmage to the practice field so not only was I watching my son who is a freshman play for the first time but i also got to see the varsity... first on Jason BOland I talked to him Friday and I am not sure what I am allowed to say so all i will say is that he has not been ruled out for the season as of now... he is a great kid and I love that kid! Freshman did well against Franklin I thought we had some real good size...I dont know if my son did what he was suppose to do but i thought he did a great job they ran a few TDs from blocks that he sealed needless to say i was a proud poppa lol varsity looked good as expected...Davenport looked good he didnt seem slow from the hamstring and I did not get a chance to talk to him about it afterwards but on a few of his runs several players had angles on him and by the time they got there he was GONE...I thought Woodruff looked good of course as well as Odom I was pleased with our defense as they seemed to be more aggrresive and our DBs looked ALOT better and Franlin is usally a pretty decent passing team to be honest im not sure if either team scored on us but keep in mind i was watching both so i could have missed it... I agree with the poster that we may find out more against Gallatin as far as looks Franklin has some good size and I do think they will be a contender in their district TDCman thanks for getting the season tickets I appreciate your support

Coach T do you know if this is a TSSAA violation...In 08 and 09 the laws changed by the state of TN changed to where you had to make sure you 1099 these payments as in the past they never were they was just paid. also in those years is wehn they started making the booster clubs do more paperwork to show where everything is going. on the DNJ someone posted that the baseball team should be audited also and I am happy to report that we was turned in by a parent that wasnt happy about a situation with his son so he turned us in resulting in a audit and they was very pleased with what we had done and passed with flying colors but we had several months to make changes and be compliant whereas football had weeks and to be honest there was no way to put all those changes in that quick...and to get all the paperwork straighten out that quick as well

they are doing some 7 on 7s right now pads get put on in about 10 days or so of course dont forget school starts on the 3rd so htere are no 2 a days that i saw on the schedule
