I'll give the Pirates credit for playing hard against the Wildcats but in the end South Pitt just did'nt have enough. Speed kept the game close for a while but when South Pitt has to drive the field without a big play they seem to self distruct like you said. If Grundy Co. keeps the big play down it could be interesting tonight.

Actually my math is good. Wayne County beat South Pitt 27-14. I know you Pirate supporters are in denial. That is Wayne County scoring 1.9285714 points for South Pitt's 1.0000000 points. In other words almost 2-1. Doubled your score. Everyone knows South Pitt has a good program but other schools have good programs too. The big difference is that South Pitt puts more speed on the field vs. most 1A - 2A teams.

Final score was? Wayne County a bunch and South Pitt not much.

I would say (more speed) not more talent. Wayne County slowed that speed down to a snell's pace last year. Take good angles and be disciplined and you can counter the speed.

This is very true about fumbling away the game. One thing to consider it was the first real game where it really meant something. You get hit a little harder and get less breaks vs practice games. Players get tired in the heat and are more likely to make mistakes. The game is 4 quarters. You aint won till you have more points when the clock runs out.

Heck it was very simple. Tullahoma was out coached plus the Cougars wanted the game more. The Cougars were very determined. Wildcat coaches pushed the panic button when CHS went up 17-0 3rd qtr. Looked to me like THS staff was in the twilight zone.

I don't know a thing about it but I hear Jasper people talking about South Pitt getting their players all the time. Keep in mind that it only takes one case to get you in trouble. But if you are not stealing Jasper players then don't worry about it. I do have a question. Did all your players on this years roster for South Pitt attend elementary school at South Pitt? (K-8)

Make sure you don't throw any chicken bones on the ground. Those private schoolers don't have any wild animals to eat'em. They got all those domestic animals that eat domestic food.
