Either way, hate I missed it since I've moved away but sounds like no one dominated anyone by the score and and what I've heard. Good competitive game by two really good teams. It doesn't matter who wins the first game or the second game, but the last game. I've seen two good teams like these match up 5 times during a season with one team winning three the other two. The third one being for all the marbles. That's the one I really want to win if I'm on a team or coaching it. Way to go Tigers, keep playing hard. Glad you finally have a really good coach again that helps get the most out of you.

Joey, Waverly beat MC 96-39. It looks like to me without having seen either team that perhaps CC has the best defensive team and Waverly has the best offensive team. So should be a shoot out. Good to see the boys in the District improving. It is great to see Waverly returning to form. Knew it would happen with a good coach coming in.

Actually Gordonsville did hit it lucky with Eagleville upsetting Moore County. Don't think Gordonsville would have beaten Moore County. This bragging is so tacky and unsportsmanlike, I'm sure your mama is proud of you.

Waverly beat them, don't know how much. But Waverly will now get back to where they used to be in basketball now that they have Coach Trotter at the helm. Good luck Tigers this year.

It was fun to watch but sad that a referee who didn't drop the flag until the touchdown pass was caught determined the outcome. I have no doubt had Moore County won that they would have beaten Gordonsville. But we will not know now. Good luck Eagleville.

I agree there. These two teams were evenly matched. I think Cascade had the size advantage and Moore had the speed advantage. Now as far as senior leadership MOore has a few seniors but this is a young team too. And I agree, the Rose back is a tough hard nose back. Probably a full back in college. Either way a nice looking back.

Sorry bud, Cascade had one good player. Yes they fumbled in the redzone, but Moore County had a turnover too. Also the same refs that called the Green Bay were calling this game. The best team won tonight no doubt. And by the way, I'm not from Moore County. Good nip and tuck game but overall Moore County had better quality players. I thought the Cascade players were very unsportsman like. When the refs kept calling penalties against MC, the Cascade players waved their arms up in the air to the MC crowd. Very tacky and childish. Take it guys, you were beat by the better team.

Two points: First, no one has mentioned and we would have to guess at coach's intention, but I felt he went into the stall to pull McEwen out of zone. With game tied, McEwen had option not to come out. Had McEwen been behind, they would have had to come out, rules state that. Coach Ross decided not to come out and he attributed to it as well. I don't argue with his strategy either. He is an excellent coach and he has proven that year in, year out. Both coaches used strategy, and whether we agree or not, it happened. Second, I would also like to see a shot clock but I've heard the main reason it isn't implemented is because of the huge costs to schools to put it into place. Especially the smaller schools. I read years ago about a HS game in North Carolina I think, where they stalled the whole game. Final 2-0. Talk about boring. Either way congrats to both teams, you got further than most schools! But I have to say, seeing Perry County year after year produce, they are the team to beat and I don't think FCS has what it takes to do it.

You are exactly right. Garrett Mullinicks can't do it by himself. But I have to say, he is one heck of a player. He kept his composure all the way. It gets tougher and the others will need to step up. But enjoy this one tonight, forget about it tomorrow. It's a new day. Put it in past and go out and play hard tommorrow.

I looked at the box score and didn't realize McEwen had missed 10 FT. Cloudland missed 13. Either way, it was a good game of two tough teams. Good luck McEwen tomorrow.

McEwen lucky to get out of this one. If Cloudland shoots 50% from FT line they win. But congrats to the Warriors.

First let me say, I don't have a dog in this hunt. This is opinion only. I've watched all the games online to form my opinions. CPA is too fundamentally sound. I think Obion is a good team but I think the CPA is much better. I think all the teams in the tournament were fairly even with CPA just a tad above the pack. CPA 8-10 pts.

Waverly beat Macon Co. because they were better. Macon Co. beat Waverly at Macon Co. last on a shot at the buzzer in the Sectional.If you think that was the real Waverly team the other day, you were sadly fooled. Waverly could have won it all had they played like to their capabilities.

Waverly is just as good as any team in the state now other than CPA or Livingston. They had a bad game shooting yesterday coupled with SM good showing on defense.

Waverly was in the top 8 as they are in the state tournament this year. that was my point.

It was a defensive struggle with both team trying to find a way to generate points. IN the end, SM defense prevailed as they were able to hit their free throws and Waverly couldn't. Don't discount SM as a contender. I knew this wasn't a great draw as I had looked at their schedule before and saw they played a tough one. Good luck to all teams the rest of the way. CPA in my opinion is the best team there.

And how do you leave Waverly out? Sure they had a bad showing yesterday at state tournament, but they beat Creekwood twice and Macon Co. Waverly is a top ten team. IMO CPA is the number one team too.

I wouldn't discount Stone Memorial just yet. They shut down a really good shooting Waverly team yesterday. They have a really good defense. If Obion overlooks them, it could be a disheartening day for them.
