Please keep the prayers coming. The entire community of Summertown is devasted by this loss. Mal was an inspiration to everyone who ever met her. She took many of the younger girls under her wing to help them improve in everything they did. I dont think her or her family realized how many of the younger kids looked up to her. She was a hero to so many. My son is in the middle school and i know that he knew Mallory but was unaware of how much he was affected by her death until last night. I went into his room to tuck him in bed and he had the year book open looking at one of Mal's pictures (the one toward the front of the book at a pep rally, she was wearing a blonde wig and was smiling and laughing). He had tears streaming down his face. We stayed up until late last night talking about Mallory. He told me about a dance that the school had last year and how Mallory came up to him and asked him to dance. He bragged for weeks about getting to dance with her. We all will miss you Mal. George, Kim, Will & Luke, I know there are no words that can ease your pain but we want you to know that she will be remembered forever.

TSSAA page 29. RULE 5: All students participating on a team registered in the Middle School Athletic Association must be enrolled in the same school and be under the same supervision of the same administarative head. I didnt see anything about being under the same roof. There is a school in my county where the middle school is in a seperate bulidling (roof). But they have the same principal. Therefore the 8th graders can play HS. There is another school in Giles county where it is K-12 under one roof. THey have seperate principals. Although they share a roof the 8th graders can not play with the HS because of the different admin heads.

The rule actually does not state anything about being under one roof. The rule states that they must have the same administration, principal.It can be several buildings on the same campus as long as they all answer to the same principal. And you can even have a 7-12 grade school where the high school students are part of TSSAA and the lower grades are NOT TMSAA. Also you may only play 5 yrs for TSSAA. So if a student is pulled up as an 8th grader and they fail their junior year they are not eligible to play as a senior.

As a lawrence county supporter but a HUGE Kari may fan, i am greatly saddened to hear of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with anyone who ever met this extraodinary young lady. She touched every life she came into contact with. Thank you Kari for touching my life!!

Luke Porter age 13 was at a family cook out Saturday afternoon. While horse back riding Luke falls from horse and breaks his neck. Luke played baseball for Coffman Middle School in Lawrence County and was on the Heritage A's babe ruth team. Luke would have been a freshman at Lawrence County High this fall. I remember Luke as being very quiet. When he did open his mouth to talk he was hilarious. Please pray from his mother and step-dad and sisters. He will be missed by all. Their LHP is Cameron Bradburn not Blackburn. And also the team is known for digging out of holes. They score more runs in the late innings than the early ones. I will agree that their coach is among the best.

The games last Friday were not cancelled due to Waynesboro's prom. If you recall it poured down rain last Friday.

Have they given a date for the rainout games to be played?

It was a tough game. Summertown pulled it off 6-3. Each team hit a home run. It was tied 3-3 until the 6th.
