The local schools around Jackson and in West TN are now starting to reap the benefits provided by the JSC & JAWS programs. The gap in West TN soccer programs is and will continue to close relative to East & Middle TN. We are seeing the same thing beginning to happen in Volleyball too. Now if those Club programs will take off, we will be ready to take off too. Good luck to USJ and JCS this week.

VG, I read that article and I think it is all in how it is interpreted. I don't think Coach Duffy meant anything by it, but maybe could have been said differently. I don't think it was/is the JCS Coach's intention to diss Madison's christian faith. I think he was purely talking about his team, it's Christian Faith/values and how that helped them win. Nothing intended/intentional IMO.

Does the new digs have a pressbox that's call "VO's View" or something like that? Here that they are having an Open House tomorrow. Good luck in the new digs Rebels and Lady Rebels.

I haven't followed them as much the last few years, up until last year. But if they buy into Coach Kail's philosophy and stick with the program, your predictions should be fairly close. They may even surprise someone during the tournaments.

My bad Cam. Jason was a very good player, but I didn't realize that he went on to play at TT on a full scholarship. That was my intent of a Div I recruit. Otherwise, Most players get partial sports scholarships along with Financial Aid and Scholastic (sp) Scholarships. Either way, he thrived under the Whitby system and I hope got a great education from TT.

This is a great post....Jimmy Whitby never had a Div I recruit (we all know how Cannon got to Ark). Most of his kids played for the likes of Jax St, DSCC, etc. after high school, if at all. What Jimmy did do was teach good old fashioned defense and high octane offense. His players did have specific roles and they practiced those rolls over and over until perfection. The games referenced above prove that a "team first" philosophy that Bill Kail will bring will consistently thrive over a bunch of "me firsts" that think the game is won by just stepping on the floor. I will try to do better in the future, but you should realize that I am a one armed paper hanger (and typist)....

In Dist 16, Memphis Frayser over Memphis Treadwell. Frayser plays Crockett Co and Jax Southside plays Treadwell. Winners play for Region 8 Title.

Bulldog, I am going by what was being broadcast on 96.5 tonite. I know Coach Morris runs a straight up program and I bet this was self reported. I don't know all of the facts though, just what was being relayed via the radio as breaking news tonight.

Use of an illegal player during first 5 games. They had to forfeit all of their wins. 0-5 going into Humboldt game tonite, 1-5 now.

Due to the TSSAA penalties assessed against Milan today, it is imperitive that they win all of their remaining games to even have a shot at the playoffs now.

Guess they changed their minds. Sounds like the same person making the ambiguous decisions that nabbed the USJ baseball coach a couple of years ago after telling them there was no harm in driving a player home. Oh well....
