  1. The guy from Oneida is the real deal man!! If Bearden can get him they will be getting one of the best up and coming coaches in the state! This guy will have them contending for state titles in no time!
  2. Red Dog I really hope you were kidding when you said pay umpires MORE. Think about this. If an umpire does just 30 games a season he makes over $1900. That is more than most coaches make for coaching baseball, working on the field, planning workouts, fundraising, dealing with discipline and parents etc. Alot of time to put in to have some of the really bad umpires with a chip on their shoulders make bad calls and not have ANY reprimand what so ever. And lets not forget if a coach is ejected it's a $250 fine, probably a 4th of most of their supplement for coaching. Point being coaches do it cause they love it, so they expect the same out of the people who can help determine the games outcome. Just be professional and APPROACHABLE, Thats all coaches ask.
  3. This may have already been discussed, but I wonder this. If a team has only two coaches and both are confined, then who coaches the bases? KIDS? I thought we were stressing keeping the kids in the dugout? What a lame --- rule this is. This is just another way of letting BAD umpires who can't handle THEMSELVES professional enough to speak with a coach about a call that they may have blown.
  4. Anyone know the score for the Halls, Central game last night?
  5. I think 161 would have been to many. 160 is o.k. though. What kind of idiot does that to a kid. Middle school or any age?
  6. I think they have had a few scrimmages and they have done fairly well. Not heard a whole lot though.
  7. I got it different: 1. P.F. 2. Grainger 2. G.P 4. Gap 5. Union County 6. Claiborne
  8. This is Awesome! AE? They are the worst baseball team ever and will be again. They lost EVERY game last year and will lose EVERY game again this year. PATHETIC!!!!! That is what that program is!
  9. Lawson seems to be having a monumental performance. Where is the run support?
  10. 1-0 Collierville. Go to the Halls/Overton Post. That one has continued into this game. Some one is continously updating there
  11. I hope Zach comes up big but his defense along with the offense will have to hold up there end of it. He will not cotinue on that pace for strikouts. He is not that kind of pitcher. I hope no one thinks I was trying to bad mouth him it's just going to be a very tough match up for him.
  12. Anything can happen but I agrre for them to have a chance they have to get on the board early so Zach does not feel pressured to throw perfect. Thier offensive output of the last two games will not get it done.
  13. I hate to say this since I am pulling for Halls but I don't think Lawson is the answer. If Lockwood can't go then it has to be Willie. Just for the record, Lockwoods arm hurt last year during the tournament. A sore arm and a hurt arm are two different things. Maybe if some of these guy's would quit playing 60 games in the summer and take some time to get their arms in better shape this would not happen. Everyone wants to blame the High school coaches for these arm problems but look back at the innings pitched. He has not thrown that many this year. Most young pitchers are abused by summer league teams that play 8 games in 3 days on the weekends. Think about it. Lots of kids pitch in two of those and then play another position after that. If more time was spent long tossing and conditioning then these arm problems would not happen.
  14. Let's clear this up for the last time. I understand putting Cooper in against Overton. Iwas talking about Collierville. Read the post I was responding to. We were talking about who should pitch the Collierville game. It did not matter who he put in against Overton it was out of hand at that point.
