red devils HHS, How did we do yesterday vs. Catholic and Rockwood. Can't make many scrimmages right now, but my work will allow me to make Friday nights. I was told we kicked some major butt at D-B. Then yesterday should have been a cake walk vs those two teams. Don't know much about Rockwood but do know that Catholic has been very good the last two years. Maybe someone can give us the low down on the debils latest scrimmage. bbs

phs5, Lets see, the debils and panthers play late in the season right? By the time they do meet in the crossroads, Smith, Watts, etc. could be injured. I hope not, but it is a possibility. Believe me, the debils coaching staff will come up with something on defense to at least slow down the Panthers. You sound like the Panthers ought to be handed the 4a trophy now. week 7 - Halls Red Debils, mark it down that me and my momma said it first. bbs

powervolume, I played on the first team to go to D-B and scrimmage. Pretty sure it was '98. We shut Cocke Co. out, beat D-B 3-4 td's to 1, and beat some team from Va. by 2-3 Td's. I also remember local sproting goods dealer printed up t-shirts that said, D-B IRATE, with a circle and line thru D-B. We wnet 7-3, I think, and Muryville beat us in the last few seconds at Muryville. Our qb threw for like 400 yards and 1 reciever, Mike Hleton caught 250 yards of passes. Lost in the playoffs to a Chattanoga team but can't remember who. I do remember it was a mile from the dressing room to the field (seemed like it at least). Go debils. go. bbs

Maybe a dumb statement, but doesn't the JV teams from both schools run the same offense as there varisty? Why not scrimmage a little more - seems dumb to only go one series, unless each series were 20-30 plays on each side of the ball. bbs

My debils have two quality fullbacks - Cox started last year and Reese started in 2003. Both will split time at fb, lots of traps, dives, blocking for these two. bbs

How about the debils. Glad to hear Coach Julian and the debils had a GREAT scrimmage at D-B. Also good to know that some of the players are playing after not showing up much durng the summer. I told you they would be aforce to recon with, now you know ifts fact. bbs

pt10, Boy do I hope you are right on the debils returning once again to the playoffs. I also agree with you that Central probably has the best chance of replacing Muryville. Don't think Powell can do it unless they play the rebs late in the season (hogs don't like hot, humid weather). Totally agree with you on the post season honors. I believe Justin Cox is the best dl in our region, probably the best dl since Joe Wilson back in the 96-97 seasons. Hope his ankel stays healthy this year. bbs

gibbsqb11, Ya'll made a big mistake when your coach decided to play us again. Last two years we played we scored like 200 points and ya'll had 12 or 14. Still wish we open up the season like the old days on Thursday. You need to look for another game on your schedule, cause my debils will shoot down the eagles like a turkey shoot. bbs

medman, I agree with your most recent post, strange things do happen in any rivalry game. You never know what will happen with this game being played so late in the year. It will be in the middle of the region schedule for both teams, so injuries could play a big part in who wins and who losses. htv, Your best post since I have been a member, which is not that long. bbs

extremeflurry, Don't count out my debils just yet my friend. If you look at the history of the halls-powell games, you will find that over the past few years the home team has won the game. Don't know the reason except just when it looks like my debils have the better team they go to powell and lose. And just the opposite is true when the panthers travel to halls. This year should be no different. Pre-season all-world te Lee Smith and company will face a tough battle in debil land this year. Me and my momma will be there dressed in red from head to toe ringing our cowbells for the debils. bbs

Rooster, If you are a north knoxville fan you rarely mention Karns and you never mention Gibbs. Therefor, using my rocket science technology, you must be a Halls, Powell, or Central fan. However, when you question so much about Central or Powell and there transfer situations, I think deep down you love the debils, just like me. Come on now, let me know the truth. I have a feint idea, but need a little push to get a real feel for your team. If you are a debil faithfull like I think, I'll be down by the entrance to the field dressed head to toe in debil red for the first home game. By the way I heard we are playing Gibbs this year instead of scrimmaging like we have the past 2-3 years. Is that true? Do we open up with them like the old days or Thursday. Rooster, I must say after reading some of your post's I had an idea you were a debil faithful. But in your last post when you said you heard the debils were running the spread offense, I have serious doubts about your knowledge of my debils. And now after going back and looking at al of your posts, I not quit sure what team is your team. You have constantly asked questions abut Central players transferring to Powell, about 15 yard penaltieis against Powell since Coach Duncan left, and numerous other questions about Halls, Central, or Powell. I just want to know if you are a hater of a particular school or all schools in/around Emory Road of BlackOak Ridge? If you read the shopper at all or watch spring practice/games, you would know by know Halls runs the wing t, or a variation of the wing t. They went to this last year when the QB culd not handle the spread that Shepard was trying to run. I will ask this question once again, who is YOUR team, or do you simply try to start confusion about teams/schools that suround Halls. bbs

Htv, Now I must admit I ain't the smartest apple that ever fell off the tree, but how can Coach Wilks be OVER the defense and Coach Dagley be co-defensive coordinator. Isn't that what they call an oxymoron? Another question, who did the panthers get to replace Mr. Duff as athletic director?
