  1. Not speak for LSMFT, but exactly what circumstances could you be speaking of?
  2. sneakypete, You sem to be very knowledgable about the situation at Halls. Could you be a coach for the Red Debils? You seem to know quite a bit of "inside" information. Do you have some info on wheather Coop is gone or not? What happened to cause this situation? Will Coach Julian let him back on the team?
  3. If the old coaches don't want to pony up and do things the way the new man wants them done, haul your butt to another school. This sounds like footballen/coachchris left; kinda like the kid that took his ball and went home when he got mad.
  4. Certainly this is a vicious rumor. Why would Coop quit the football team, he is in the middle of baseball season?
  5. compustatman, U can't have 7-7 evrey day of the ummer. You can go against another school for 10 days thats all. This new rule want hurt anybody, passing or running team. YYou say all kids wont show for qb-wr workouts when the new rules take shape next year, some dont even show up now, but the coaches still let the good ones play.
  6. Well from what I hear the coaches are the ones that got this passed. Basketball and baseball coachs do so much cheating and gettin around the rules, this was put in so they could not practice year round. And in my opinion that is good.
  7. What's going on in the river city? Has footballen left the nest for another local or is he finally trying to finish that vaughted master's degree and the Professor is correcting some errors. Maybe he has been learning some football that will help his team not be the worst in Clarksville.
  8. baseballman, How would this new facility be a welcomed facility by local merchants for years to come?
  9. PT, You are right in your assessment if I am reading the minutes correctly.
  10. cobracoach, The changes do not affect softball and baseball nearly as hard as they do basketball. The only thing that changes for softball is no fall ball (so not to conflict with volleyball or soccer) and no open facilities where every basketball, baseball, softball coach in the state cheats.
  11. wardawg, Why can't you do the same things in July that you planned on doing in June? What happens if your QB"S are playing travel baseball? From what I've read, football came out smelling like a rose. Now, for basketball & baseball they didn't fare so well.
  12. A question for all proponents of fall baseball. Does your fall baseball team have any football, basketball or golf players on your team. If a player from one of those sports wanted to play fall baseball, how in the world would they have the time to do so. These new rules as I read them don't seem that bad. Baseballers can still throw anytime during the fall. They can hit anywhere they want to, THEY JUST CAN'T HAVE A COACH PRESENT BECAUSE HE WOULD INSTRUCT THEM IN THEIR FLAWS AND THAT IS CHEATING. Simple solution, set up a video camera and tape the session. Get the tape to the coach and let him make comments to the player while sitting at the lunch table.
  13. Bet he don't move. Everbody talks aboput the athletic facilities, what is the town & community like?
  14. 3 weeks after a season ends is not so bad. We have just finshed 3+ months of football or 4+ months of basketball and the kids get 3 weeks away from those coaches so threy can't start weight or open gyms again, ain't a bad idea. If you read it spring sports don't suffer thru this 3 wek deal, cause they are out of school. Winter sports have June, Fall sports have July. No spring basketball. Big deal. You have 10 days during the summer, why would you need time during the spriong semester too?
  15. ned, Go back and read your primer. Nothing changes this summer, it starts in AUG> 2007.
  16. Someone said football coaches should be happy about the rules. If that is true answer these questions. 1) Why are there not any AAU football programs? 2) The summer dead period hurts what sport the most? 3) Why would no open facilities hurt basketball or baseball? Here are my answers: 1) Expense, insurance, time, practice facility. 2) Football's conditoning program. 3) It would eliminate coaches from CHEATING. They can still shoot, play, 3-3 or whatever. Football can't even have open facilities. No camps in July, BFD. Football can't have them in June and that is when most colleges have their camps. REMEMBER this starts AUG. !, 2007 - so this summer is not affected one bit.
  17. coachT, Hitting in a cage prior to Jan. 1 is not OK, if I'm reading the information correctly. It says NO OPEN FACILITIES until Jan. 1.
  18. I think W.H.- Heritage with their famous coach would be a good team for the tourney.
  19. Maryville always has a drinking problem whether they win a game or not. If they ain't drinking, then they are making money.
  20. RC does what the Legislative Council lets him do. If what I was told is correct there are 8 -9 principals sitting on the council and they are the ones that voted for/against everything about today. From reading the info nobody really lost anything except football has another dead period when there season ends, but everybody else has the same thing. I thought they were going to do away with spring practice / scrimmages, not let fb coaches do anything until the middle of July. Looks to me like the coaches got there stuff together and fought for some things and won. No other sport actually LOST anything. If they did show it to me, I can't find it.
  21. I think what it says is that you can't have a full team of players being coached by Ma/Pa Kettle, then immediately go into the season rip roaring ready to play. Now AFTER your season is finished you then have an unlimited # OF PLAYERS ON ANY GIVEN TEAM, i.e. AAU basketball, Summer baseball.
  22. How will he be eligible at S-D?
  23. Just a guess - Carter makes over $125,000 and his assistants make $75-80,000.
