  1. 14-14 with 8 left in the second. Stratford is in the Marshall County backfield a lot.
  2. I think a previous post in this thread refers to OC calling Wallace a traitor on radio and ripping the Marshall County stadium. I think everyone can agree on the stadium. Not sure if it's true that he said that about Wallace and also not sure which Wallace he was referring to, but if it was about Bryce Wallace, that's pretty uncalled for to call out the kid on radio.
  3. Really impressed with where O'Connor already has this Giles County team. I expected a blowout, but that feels like the closest 45-10 game that I've ever watched. Marshall County's playmakers simply took over in the second half. The big Marshall County receivers really took over in the passing game when the game was still on the line. The Marshall County defense was stingy that second half, and they bent a good bit, but they never broke. I was very impressed with the pressure that the Giles line consistently got. Wallace really had to scramble around a good bit of the night. A quick thing I was curious about, but does high school not have the substitution rule that college has? O'Connor was pretty sneaky running subs in super late, and Marshall County never had a chance to sub in to match personnel like you see at the next level. Marshall County has a huge test this coming week against Stratford who has become possibly the best Nashville area team in 3A. Stratford will also be able to go athlete for athlete with Marshall County and has a great coach.
  4. 35-10 now. Marshall County depth has taken over in the 4th quarter. Both teams have looked really good and really bad at times tonight. Still been a fun game to watch.
  5. 14-10 at the half. Marshall County line and kicking game not doing any favors for the Tigers. Refs have had some phantom calls that have kept a few Marshall County scores off the board.
  6. This is probably the best team Marshall County has had in quite some time. But it's Giles County, and you have to throw everything else out and expect a closer, tough game. I have heard that Giles County has a QB that can really sling it, so the QB play in this game should be something else. The additional storylines in this rivalry just get better every year it seems. O'Connor being on the sideline coaching against his former offensive and defensive coordinator is good enough, but to throw the QB who O'Connor won a state title with on the Marshall County sidelines makes this week that much more interesting. Here's hoping we get to see the O'Connor-Osteen matchup in the region for at least a few more years.
  7. Probably should add Vandy to the discussion. And after Saturday night, I'm fairly certain the Catholic line could get a push against Tennessee. In all seriousness, I feel Oakland, Maryville, and BA would be the ones to look at for a team that can beat them. Those are the teams I would guess can hang with them in the trenches. BA and Oakland probably could roll out the high level athletes to match up as well.
  8. Extremely athletic. I thought they should have run the QB more early in the game. Marshall County's front 4 just caved the offensive line all night. Marshall County got sloppy in the second half. Marshall County plays at Stratford in 2 weeks which looks like it could be a phenomenal game.
  9. You think Marshall County wins 45-6? East has so many athletes that I think it'll be a slugfest.
  10. Brown (#5) has missed the last two seasons due to injuries but is back now. He plays running back and safety. Liggett (#6) is the other running back, and he is very good too. Both are very quick and love to lower their shoulder. McWilliams just runs through players. The speed he has at his size isn't quite fair sometimes. The sad part is the starting point guard for the basketball team could be an all state running back/slot receiver if he played football. Played his freshman year, but he quit playing after that.
  11. Scoreboard says Giles is down 20-14 in the 4th.
  12. 55-7 final. The back for Tullahoma is going to be very good.
  13. Still 13-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.
  14. Quick stop and another easy drive for Marshall County. 13-0 with 5 left in the first. This might be out of hand before the first quarter ends.
  15. Marshall County gets the ball first and takes a little less than 2 minutes to score. Wallace looked very impressive on drive 1. Tigers up 6-0. Tullahoma ball.
  16. I think he is a sophomore and part of the 2019 instate QB class that looks to have serious potential. Lighthouse plays 8 on 8 from my understanding so maybe that allows the transfer.
  17. Marshall County vs. Giles County is always a fun game. This one should be as fun as any have been recently.
  18. Marshall County won 41-0 last year. I think the score will be similar to that. I don't think Osteen will try to make it 60-0. This will be a good chance to get some players some rest on a short week before what will likely be a very physical game against East Nashville.
  19. Marshall County struggled up front some. Just simply wore Overton down, and by the 4th quarter, Overton was out of gas. McWilliams had 3 touchdowns including one on a fake punt that swung things. Theo Jackson went down with the score 26-19, which ended any chance Overton had. Hoping his injury is nothing serious in the end. He took a lot of hits tonight, but he has some serious heart playing essentially every snap until the injury. I would love to hear a high school official on this one, but I've never seen more offsides called before the ball was snapped and there wasn't any movement. I thought the ball had to be snapped or there be contact for there to be an offside?
  20. I think we've got at least 3 more years of Osteen in Lewisburg. He's got a QB that has potential to be elite. With Osteen's track record of QB development, I think Wallace will reach that potential. But I wouldn't blame the 6A schools and privates for calling--the results so far would justify it.
  21. Marshall County will be able to name the score of this one. 56-14 is my guess.
