Think this one kicks off a similar run to a few years ago for Marshall County when they made the semis 3 straight years.

We were down, and he felt he needed points immediately. I see both sides there, but I think going early makes some sense when it looked like we couldn’t slow them down. Maybe I remember Central differently, but they started loading the box the second half and forced us to throw. Just my opinion of the matter. Easy to second guess a coach after the fact, but I think he’s done a phenomenal job with the program. We’ve had a few other coaches see similar waves of talent as he has had and do less with it.

Osteen never had Medley. And not sure on the coaching blunders in the semifinals? Catholic was an absolute juggernaut with some big time college players. Don’t think there was anything they could’ve done in that one. Central was just a great second half effort by that Central team. This staff has had more success than all but those teams from the 80s. Not sure why to start point fingers at them. Tonight is a tough loss, but it’s a team that is still growing and getting better.

A lot. Would love to see how many called back big plays - the punt return TD and a few other big runs just off the top of my head. Also the phantom facemask on the last drive and lack of late hit on the kick return.

Always throw out the records in this series. I think refs were iffy to say the least, but Giles had a game plan to give them a chance late then took advantage. Tigers needed to score a touchdown when they got in the red zone a few times early.

Not sure I’ve seen refs overturn a fumble after saying it was recovered by the defense. Could be right call but odd to overturn without replay. Officials have been shaky tonight.

Wouldn’t say either side really outcoached the other tonight. Two pretty even teams as evidenced by both games this season. Tullahoma did put Marshall County in a tough spot there then took advantage forcing the safety.

Has Stone last 3 or 4 years in a row as the 1 seed? Very impressive run by Region 4 here.

Reading the article, it sure seems like it has to be Wallace. They were going to have to do some creative work to get him eligible two weeks before the season being that he always lived in that school district.

Not sure if they’ll win tonight, but the Marshall County coaching staff is too good to not find a way to be competitive this year regardless of circumstances.

Nolensville was supposed to be really good this year. Not sure how Hester leaving affects that. 4-4A should be extremely competitive.

Looks like the district could be a wild ride through the end of the season now that Fields has left Marshall County.

Older Oden committed to Rutgers. Think that he had a committable offer from Louisville. I remember seeing Tennessee and some other bigger schools offer younger Oden, but I'm not sure if he had any actual "offers" from those schools.

Smith the running back is committed to Georgia Tech. Justin Oden was seen as a really good receiving prospect. Think his stock dropped a good bit when pads went on. They had another Oden that a recruiting site ranked as a 4 star right before the current coach got there. That's a good bit of talent for the area. Spring Hill had 3 Division 1/FBS level talents that were all on the same team. Marshall County and Giles have produced 5 total Division 1/FBS level players from my quick glance over the past 10 years. I might have left out a few that ended up at smaller schools, but I think I counted most of them.

Marshall County tried an onside kick with about 6 minutes left in the game when they made it 42-17. Greeneville scored on the pass that is being discussed with about 2:30 left in the game to make it 49-17. Marshall County scored again and tried another onside kick with about a minute left and the score 49-24. I think the issue that is being pointed out isn't Greeneville throwing the ball there although I think most teams will run the ball. I think it is the fact that Greeneville was using starters to take shots at the endzone with 2:30 left in the game. Maybe looks like running up the score because starters were still in the game, but I don't see a huge issue with it. I would like to think most coaches would have run the clock out there, but it's the Greeneville coach's decision based on what how he felt the game was going. I don't follow Greeneville enough to know, but I'm sure the decision was made because it was a semifinal game, and I doubt Greeneville does that all season.

Man, impossible to go wrong with a double big pal, frenchie fry, and shake. Great service and very reasonable prices.

Was an awful call. Refs lost control of the game something awful.

Wow, the refs just ejected Liggett after Maplewood took a late shot at him. Refs have lost total control of this one. Maplewood playing really dirty it looks like. Tigers up 1 with 4:00 minutes left.

Well, Marshall County fumbled after another 2 plays, so Maplewood will start at the Marshall County 25.

Disaster start for Marshall County. Couldn't field initial squib kick that made it all the way near the goal line then fumbled the second play following that. Maplewood hit a 30 yard desperation heave on a tip drill on 4th and long for a touchdown shortly after that. Maplewood hits Marshall County with a surprise onside kick, and Marshall County couldn't field it. Caught a break when Hodges overthrew a wide open receiver in the end zone on another 4th down.

Marshall County wins 42-21.

This game has had some interesting plays. Marshall County was punting it back to Spring Hill with 5 and a half left. Punt hits the Spring Hill guy going down to block. Tigers recover and go deep on next play. 35-14 with 5 and a half left.
