  1. I don't know about him but I have seen Bolivar a couple of times. They pose match-up problems for just about anyone they will play in the district or Region. It was a great coaching move when O. Kemp was inserted in the starting line-up and Lake was moved to the 4 spot. The one who really makes them go in my opinion is Walker. Everybody knows about W. Kemp and Lake but if Walker gets going, they are really tough. JMO
  2. Lexington won 94-74. Jimmy Gilbert led the Tigers with 25 on 7 three-pointers.
  3. I have heard about the Middle School team in Milan. I heard they were very, very good. It may be Lexington and Milan battling it out for the district crown for the next few years. I do know that there are some good players in Decatur County as well that will improve their HS program over the next few years. Does anyone know about middle school programs in Camden or McKenzie?
  4. District 11AA is at Lexington. February 16-21.
  5. The staff at Lexington High School wants to thank all the fans for their support and enthusiasm concerning the Tiger basketball team this season. We are seeing an atmosphere that has not been present in a long time each night our players take the floor. We understand that along with good things comes the bad. We would like to encourage our fans to take advantage of the medium this site provides. However, we would also like to encourage our fans NOT to make negative posts concerning other schools. Promote our players as much as you can and will BUT, please allow our play on the floor speak for the quality of our team. I was told once by a friend and excellent coach "when your team is good, you don't have to tell anybody, they know". No truer words could be spoken. Once again, thanks for the support as we, as a program, truly appreciate it. Thank you and we hope to see you at the games. Terry Clement LHS Basketball
  6. Mack is the best point guard on the team!!
  7. Sophomore Jon Keck dunked against Milan. He is really coming on as a player.
  8. I'll vote for the Shivers backboard shattering dunk. I started not to go to the game but, man I'm glad I did.
  9. Lexington hosts McKenzie next Tuesday. Chester County beat Lexington 68-66 back on December 9 at Chester. It was a great game between the two teams.
  10. When I coached in Middle Tennessee, I always liked seeing Sammy Northcutt, David Laws or Cole Womack walk into the gym for our games.
  11. When I coached in Middle Tennessee, I always liked having Sammy Northcutt, David Laws or Cole Womack.
  12. Can someone post the bracket for this tournament please? I am especially interested in seeing the Springfield girls play. Thanks in advance.
  13. westtn2004state, I wouldn't call winning 2 of 5 games and being outscored 51-37 in the five games "spanking" someone would you?
  14. Just looking for a game to go to Friday and Saturday. Anyone have the schedule/ Thanks.
  15. Just wandering who won the game.
  16. Lexington defeated Hardin County 73-57 tonight on the road. Q. T. Buckley led the way for Lexington (5-2) with 27 points. The lead got as high as 25 for Lexington, who is idle until December 29 when they will take on Perry County in the 3rd Annual First Bank Classic at USJ.
  17. Lexington has played neither Crockett County nor Bolivar. The Crockett Co. game was cancelled due to the CC football players not having a chance to practice with the team. This was a stipulation put on the first game by both coaches. Lexington does not have Bolivar on the schedule. Bolivar played in the Sprots Plus Classic at Lexington losing to North Side 65-57 (I think). Lexington beat Trenton Peabody by 15 and lost to Union City by 5. I try to post the scores on the scoreboard the night of the game or the next morning.
  18. Day 2 of the Sports Plus Rehab Classic at Lexington will feature many rising players. At 3:30 Liberty with the Wynn brothers (Quentin and Quincy) take on Trenton Peabody with Nicholas Doaks. At 5:00, Jason Black and Martin Westview take on Joe Shivers and Humboldt. At 6:30, Marquis Weddle leads Union City versus Q.T. Buckley, Mack Gardner and the host Lexington Tigers in a rematch of last Thursday night's Hall of Fame game at Trenton which was won by Union City 90-86. In the nightcap, Brian Lake, Willie Kemp and the Bolivar Tigers take on the Delks and Jackson Northside. There will be many college recruiters in attendance including coaches from Memphis, Kentucky, and Tennessee's Buzz Peterson just to name a few. Admission is $5 for the day.
  19. Will this game be Friday or Thursday?
  20. I was wondering if any of the week 10 (halloween weekend) have been or might be moved to Thursday?
  21. Timbob, Once again, thanks. As for b-ball, I'll just have to see how their schedule and mine mixes together but I am going to try. I always enjoy coming over for games. I hope Coaches Haskins, Lee, and Rhodes have a good year. I don't believe we are playing you guys this year at christmas like we have in the past. If I come over there, I'll try to let you know so we can get together. I'll never forget "the finger".
