  1. The Lexington Tigers opened defense of their 11AA title with a 17-2 victory over the Camden Lions tonight at Lexington. Brandon Maness went three innings for the Big Red who improved their record to 9-2 and 1-0 in the district. Lexington will play host to Huntingdon on Thursday, district foe Mc Kenzie on Friday, and Bolivar on Saturday.
  2. Lexington defeated Humbolt in nine innings 5-4, so all yall Humbolt boys just keep on thinkin bout that 15-5 that you predicted.(Lexington and Humbolt will meet again tomorrow at 5:00 in Lexington.
  3. One night after the pitchers dominated, the hitters took their turn. Lexington's Brandon Maness and Dustin Page each homered twice including back-to-back shots in the first inning as Lexington held off Hardin County 17-12 to sweep the two-game set. Lexington scored six in the first and appeared to be cruising. Hardin County never quit and cut the lead to 15-12 in the sixth. Lexington posted two in the bottom of the frame and Page pitched a scoreless seventh for 2-0 Lexington. Lexington and Humboldt will play a two game series opening in Humboldt on Thursday and returning to Lexington for a Friday game.
  4. Brandon Maness and Dustin Page combined to no-hit Hardin County 3-0 tonight in the season opener for both teams. Maness (1-0) struck out 15 over 6 innings and Page struck out the side in the 7th to record his first save of the year. The two teams will conclude the two game series tomorrow night in Lexington. Game time is 6:00.
  5. about Roger Wilson, you folks are getting a dandy coach as well as a fine individual. I have known Coach Wilson for many years and you need to give him a fair shake. I don't think you will be disappointed.
  6. The defending AA State Champion Lexington Tigers will open up with a two-game series vs AAA Hardin County. These teams don't like each other very much and it should be two dandy games. Both will be at Lexington due to construction going on at Hardin County. Sr. LH Brandon Maness will go in the opener for Lexington.
  7. Chester County couldn't capitalize on the turnovers they created. It was fun to watch. Hats off to Coach Lott's players for having the discipline to execute the game plan. It almost worked!!!!!!!

Of course, schedule subject to change due to incliment weather.

  14. In the District 11AA Championship game Milan began the game on a 9-0 run and led 11-2 however, the Tigers hung tough and pulled even at 25 by halftime. Lexington opened the third quarter on a 17-1 run and then held off a furious Milan rally in the fourth quarter. Milan had cut the Tiger lead to six at 51-45 when senior Casey Wise buried a three pointer and two free throws to put Lexington back up by 11. This was the first District championship for Lexington under the direction of Coach Tim Gardner in his second year at the school. Congratulations!!!!

  20. Holly Turnbow scored 17 points as Perry County rolled past Lexington 71-25 on Saturday night in the final night of the 2nd Annual First Bank Christmas Classic at Lexington. Perry County dominated the contest from the outset jumping to a 15-0 first quarter lead and never looking back. With the win, Perry County improves to 9-1 and Lexington falls to 3-7. Amelia Campbell lead Lexington with 13. Here are the other results. Friday: Perry County 61 USJ 48 McNairy 63 Lexington 36 Saturday: McNairy 38 USJ 35
  21. Q.T. Buckley scored 19 points on Saturday night to lead Lexington past Perry County 71-66 in what was by far the best game of the two-day event. Lexington improved its record to 10-3 while Perry County suffered its first loss of the season and fell to 9-1. Here are the other results from the Classic: Friday: Perry County 69 Univ.   22. There are three sophomores at Lexington that will be a force to reckon with for the next two years. They are Quadras Buckley, Brent Williamson, and Blake Tyler. Also, please continue to pray for Chad Williams.
