Farragut varsity vs G'ville varsity. OR and G'ville do play during season so we'll see which coach was "holding back". Are some of OR's captains not starters ?

Greeneville did beat Farragut 1-0 but match was very even. G'ville also beat Oak Ridge 3-2 in another good match, and they beat Tenn High 2-0 and Sevier Co. 2-0. Also, Farragut and Dobyns Bennett tied 1-1. I believe Oak Ridge beat DB but I'm not sure about the score.
  3. Greeneville has Collierville, Farragut, G'town Houston, Bearden, CAK, Oak Ridge, among a couple of others.
  4. No problem. No, I'm not from Volunteer. I'm not from these parts as they say.
  5. Jerry "Higgy" Higgins was my college roommate - he graduated from Volunteer in 87 I believe. Does Stokomo = Higgy ? Just kidding with you.
  6. Umm. . . 59 - 28 Greeneville with 4 minutes to go in 3rd quarter.
  7. But didn't he go JUCO first ? I didn't think UT recruited him until he blossomed into a great player. Of course, I might be wrong.
  8. Two words my friend - Augusta National. Didn't Frankie and GQ play together at Furman ?
  9. And if you take away Gash, Anderson, Woods, and about 8 or 9 other players Greeneville doesn't have a team. Maybe then Cherokee will have a chance.
  10. I won't mention any names . . . . .
  11. Rumor has it that a wealthy Greenevillian flew GQ to Greeneville in a 30 million dollar jet (yes, all the way from McGhee-Tyson), that facility upgrades have been promised as well as a healthy financial package. Perhaps just a nasty rumor though.
  12. Greeneville High School and Nicole Dickson from Greeneville High School. Oh yeah, I forgot GHS is no longer in Greene County. My bad.
  13. I was impressed with Elizabethton tonight against Greeneville. While they had no answer for Wiggins, they did a fine job against the other players defensively. I think Elizabethton's coaching staff did a good job preparing for Greeneville unlike Bradley Central's staff. It appears as though the best way to handle Greeneville is to let Wiggins get his 25 - 30 pts a game but try to limit the other 4 as much as possible. Once again, I don't know much about Elizabethton but they certainly gave Greeneville a fight.
  14. I've not had the opportunity to see Wattad play although it is my understanding he greatly improved over the summer. Wiggins appears to be a much better player than he was last year. He is quicker, stronger and perhaps even a little taller. He has a lot of heart also as he generally plays without any rest. I look forward to January (or even earlier ?) when these two meet.
  15. Barb asked a good question - were you at the game ?
  16. Your post is an embarassment to coachT. Once again, Oglesby is as good as advertised but I would say he was 3 for 15 or so from 3 point range. Stop crying about the officiating and have some class.
  17. Don't embarass yourself anymore than you were embarassed last night. Greeneville was up by 20 going into 4th. If Greeneville runs its offense in 4th , they would have won by 30 pts - in my opinion. Overall Bradley doesn't have a lot of team speed. So even though Bradley was much taller, Greeneville was so much quicker to the ball. Bradley simply could not stop Wiggins but Gash and Woods had solid efforts as well. Our little 6' and 5'10" post players outleaped your 6'8" big men many times throughout the game. Oglesby, although a fantastic player, took too many shots. In the end, it's ok to say Greeneville dominated your bears without crying about the officiating. Each team had a few calls go against them as is the norm.
  18. I don't know if he would move or not. Coach C's son will be a sr at G'ville next year so I'm sure that will be a consideration. Another rumor (and I know we are way off topic here) is that the pres and AD at Tusculum may be packing their bags within the next few months.
  19. One rumor I have heard is that Allen Vitale from Carson-Newman will move on to ETSU and Tony Castainca will go to Carson-Newman. Just rumors though.
  20. Mjuhb give us your predictions for next year
  21. My reply was inartfully drafted. I was trying to say that 90s will generally equal juniors. Thus, no letters until after junior year. Of course, you could have a 90 that is a senior if she started school at a young age or was home schooled for a time.
  22. If they are 90s they probably can't get "letters" from NCAA schools yet - only NAIA schools. Assuming the 90s are only juniors that's my understanding of the "rules."
  23. From a Greeneville fan - good job Bearden. Good luck tomorrow.
