It's too early to start thanking about Dyersburg with OC and another game coming up before then. Should be interesting though.

I was proud of the Choctaws last night. They showed heart in the fourth quarter. Everyone else thought the game was over except them. Gibson County probably got a little relaxed in the fourth, but to still play with that intensity in what appeared to be a decided matter shows heart and character. Congrats to the Pioneers and the Choctaws on a well played game and good luck the rest of the season.

I have never seen Dudley play, but it sounds like she is living up to the post. I am looking foward to seeing her play tuesday, but I hope the Choctaws catch her on an off night. It sounds like she is due for a bad game, but her bad game might be only 15 points instead of 25-30.

Sara Jo Mason is 10, but still a very good 3 point shooter. Magid was probably talking about Akin.

The cops did what they felt was right. They didn't KICK the students out, they got up and left. The students probably did not do anything to deserve to be removed from the game, but if an officer tells you to sit down, sit down!!! The kid that was arrested was said to have been verbally abusing the officer, not walking away from the officer. He is lucky he didn't get pistol whipped. There are two seperate stories. The kids that felt like their rights were being taken away or something, and the cops that were doing their job. I am sure we will hear about it in the Supreme Court in a couple of months.

DC played good in the first quarter because it was such a fast paced game and most points were scored on fast breaks(that is the way the radio perceived it). Westview did not have time to get into their defense. The pace in the second, third, and fourth was slow and allowed Westview to setup their defense. Traps and confusion helped Westview play a good game. Plus, Fisk was in foul trouble and Akin was wrapped up tighter than a Christman present. Westview was faster and bigger than DC and used it to their advantage with traps and full-court press. The DC coaches would have a hard time finding an offense to counter that. DC is a very skilled team and Westview did a great job of just playing ball.

The Antonio Mitchell deal has nothing to do with personal trouble or team violations. It is all about egos. Also, Antonio will probably be wearing black and gold at the end of the season or at the start of next season.

Yea. DHS student section was the reason that DC was off. I guess the fact that the Trojans played great defense had nothing to do with it. Anybody can make a shot with a hand in their face, lets give the win to the student section and not to the Trojans.

What bothered me was the fact that a coach would say a player "wasn't that good" and "the refs protect him." In the paper he criticized the officials on ethics. Any coach that blast the refs and a player on the other team should not be preaching about ethics.

I am a DC fan, but I just don't think they want to win. Maybe with it being their biggest rival they will show a little heart. I just don't understand why you bother playing if you don't want to win.

They've just lost their swagger. They just look like that don't want it that bad.

Westview won. They pulled away and then DC came roaring back. Great teams finish and Westview ended up winning by double-digits.

Jellyrolls, don't forget that D-burg has the best player in West Tennessee. I think the Delk boys can handle him though.

Number 21 is a really good player too. If they keep their heads together, they could be on the road to a state championship.

They in the shadow of the best team in the STATE!!!!! People love a winner and that is what the boys team is. The girls will earn respect probably come tournament time.

I think Giles Co. is a good team but i think Haywood will eat them up in the semi-finals.

Elizabethon will win if they score the first points..stop Ridgeway on thier first try and then hold then ball like McNairy County girls did.

I think that Fisk should win Mr. Basketball, Smith has the honor wrapped up for the next two years if he keeps playing the way he is.

Giles Co. has only played 4 teams with a winning record and they are ranked 85th in SOS rankings. The state goes through Memphis and that is how it has been for the past 5 years. Middle Tennessee is weak compared to West Tennessee and the Memphis area. Giles Co. will advance to the state unless they have to play Bolivar and I think Bolivar is just too good. The problem with DC's run to the state every year is because of Memphis schools(except for Sycamore) and that will probably be the reason they get put out this year. Ridgeway and BTW are two tough teams and will be the teams to beat for the state this year. [Edited by lovethegame on 2-14-03 11:51A]

Do you know who will be playing who in the first two games?

How do they set up the brackets? The Championship that last couple of years hasn't been decided in the finals but the semis or the quarter finals and they need a better match-up in the finals this year.

See, everyone is making money off of him except him and his mom. If they were getting money they probably should, I don't think they would have to take out a loan to buy a mansion on the beach in Florida, much less a hummer. Let him enjoy it, he deserves it.

There is nothing wrong with taking out a loan to buy a hummer. I think they will be able to pay it back in full in about 6 months with that signing bonus.
