  1. GQ and maryville will continue to run the offense like they always have by throwing the short and intermediate passes sprinkled in with the run. the last time they had an inexperienced qb, they won the state title and didnt do anything different from the year before. defensively, the rebs front 7 is as good as anybody's. alcoa will have to constantly put pressure on maryville's secondary and then that will open the run game more. they have some great backs so they may not have a hard time getting the run game going. i dont know much about alcoa's defense but they must have a good one from what ive heard from the preseason. this game should be decided by whoever can get there offense going and scoring when they're in the redzone. good luck to both teams on friday!
  2. west is back and they have a lot of talent this year. still like they said before and a rivalry game is always close no matter how unfavored a team is. jeff co will show some toughness in this game but west still comes out unbeaten. west - 28 jeff co - 17 good luck to both teams in region play thumb

    Webb at Powell

one thing powell wont have to worry about is sophomore tyler clendenen (returned the opening kickoff for a TD) as he is sitting out this year at maryville due to transfer regulations.

    Webb at Powell

no i was watching last year's game. you say webb had nearly 200 yards of offense, that outstanding for a team that runs the WING-T!!. all they want to do is grind it and secure the football. webb had more than a couple of long drives that night that they cashed in on.
  5. im not saying ur not entitled to ur opinion, im just pointing out that u always pick farragut to lose every week and call them overrated. nonetheless this should be a great game to watch.
  6. i'm goin with OR in this one. it may be closer than last year's game (60-7?) but the wildcats should handle clinton pretty easily. OR - 42 CHS - 14
  7. bhs, you always have somethin negative to say about farragut dont u. well thats not my problem, but i will say that this game should be close. completely different styles of football. i cant give a score bc one play may make or break a team. good luck to both teams friday night and for the rest of the season as well. thumb

    Webb at Powell

from what ive seen of this game the last two years, powell cant stop webb's wing-t. they have struggled with it and this year wont be any different. webb will keep it close but i say powell wins in the end. powell 28 webb 21
  9. i would agree bc they had 4 teams ranked in the top 10 last year and the region champ (oak ridge) is the only team to give riverdale a game in 2004
  10. 7:00 or 7:30 it doesnt matter, just be there early enough to see the teams warm up. we been waitin so long to see football, its the season opener. i cant wait!
  11. no he thinks a field goal is worth 7 points
  12. watts and helton can make plays but id have to give the notch to watts. zach is a great ball player, grew up with him, but they have to get him out of the pocket to throw. hes not tall enough to be a drop back qb. both have great mobility but cody can sit in the pocket or roll out. zach is surrounded by more athletes so id say that central should win against powell. my region looks like this.... MARYVILLE CENTRAL POWELL HALLS just playoff spots... not sure about the rest yet
  13. i would put morristown west atleast in the top 5 for 4A cause ive seen them play and they have great potential and athletes to make a run again thumb
  14. well seeing how the scrimmage isnt over yet, i dont know what to tell ya
  15. they ran a 1920s notre dame box that knute rockne invented. its been dead for 70 years
  16. DOBBYNS-BENNETT SEVIER CO. SCIENCE HILL CAMPBELL CO. BEARDEN JEFF CO. KARNS GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS thumb
  17. without a doubt its riverdale
  18. farragut went 2-8 one year. never have they gone three years and only won 8 ballgames.
  19. fulton looked impressive against karns and south-doyle but didnt do much against farragut and mo west. south-doyle looks like they got potential if they put it all together. karns is trying to find guys to step up and fill the void that left last year. mo west is back after a par season last year and will dominate their region. farragut looked good as well with a strong d, still some improvement on the offense. fulton should be ready this season if they get their guys back from injury.

    MoTown West

mo west looked good last night and they look like they got a lot of talent. i like their tailback #3. west and farragut played to a 0-0 tie and throughout the whole scrimmage they looked like the two best teams there. coach woods has his team back to make another run in the playoffs. thumb
  21. competition at furman doesnt mean anything. they didnt even choose any of central's athletic receivers to be in the competition. they had some of the best times in the combine there. the competition was just a coach's opinion.
  22. is this game at cookeville or ooltewah?
