Ill give the playoff nod to Webb over BGA again this year. Webb's Schedule is more favorable than BGA's. Webb has a ton of young talent. They lose there 2 1000+ yard runningbacks that were very good...but thats about it. Defense should be better. Webb has some young talent and a freahman running back that will turn heads in a few years...he will probably even start this year.

While i know some weight classes are more difficult than others, what are some of your opinions behind this: I was thinking, and fully understand it has no chance of happening, that D2 should only place 4 wreslters...have it be 1-4. I feel the top 4 in each weight class can usually compeat with the top 4 from division 1. I was thinking this would make the tournement more competitive and give more credit to thoes who do place 4th. I fully understand that some weights are different but in D2 it does slide of a bit when you get to 5th and 6th place compared with Div. 1. I know this isnt always the case and understand that the Div. 2 state champ is probably more often better than the d1 champ, in my humble opionion that is, but not the 5th and 6th placers.

Im sorry, my bad i should of looked on the brighter side....im sure they are trying to improve it and i understand that can be difficult esp. with a sport that is so demanding.

Ok im giving up...its like your trying to kill an ant with a nuke....Look...your making this a bigger deal than what it really is...For some reason you, nodoginrace, your looking way to far into this...webb wrestling is not any good and you can bash it all you want...i am not a student, teacher, coach, or even have a kid that goes there... i understand you are jumping on me because i said a kid was asked to leave a school.... i guess i should have left that fact out when trying to detail a point...as he was only in the 3rd or 4th grade. This topic is about where Pinkstaff will end up. All i was saying, if you look at my origional comment, was that while some people are saying that he may go to baylor i was saying that he may very well stay because of his relationship to his Coach...i was detailing their relationship! Pinkstaff is a great athlete.....i hope CAK does not loose him to Baylor. CAK is an up and comming program...esp. if they have Pinkstaff on their team.

I do know that Pinkstaff was asked to leave the school, which is not a lie...its flat out the truth...I really dont care what you say...theres no motive behind facts....If what you are insinuating is true about these athletes leaving, then it would not be a very high quality of sports program or school at all, im not sure to many people would agree with you on that point....shoot you even said pinkstaff himself had noting but good things to say about Webb. All this is really beside the point. I was detailing the extent of the relationship between CAK's coach and pinkstaff...yet apparently i would lie to somehow benefit webb???? they asked a kid who was an incredible athlete to leave????In what way does this benefit them??? I guess you could say their jealous...so what if they are, that doesnt change facts...yet your basing your entire posistion of Webb, on me, someone you dont know.

Ok whatever, 4th grade...and i guess a school that "asked a student to leave", they try not to expell a kid in hopes of keeping it off their record, would be jealous that the kid did not attend the school. But since i am not "Webb" i will say that i would of loved to have him on any wrestling team...if baylor wants him then every team in the state should be jealous. Bottom line the kid has been coached by the Webb coach since he started wrestling..and intented on being with them the whole way...the Webb coach is now at CAK. Dont get me wrong i think Pinkstaffs a great wreslter and probably a very good kid. Alot changes from 4th grade to the 8th grade, but According to CAK coaches he was removed from the wrestling team.

From what i understand Pinkstaff is no longer wrestling high school because he was kicked off the team for disciplinary reasons. He is a very good wreslter who wrestles around the country and has won many national tournaments. He may go to baylor but he also has strong connections with CAK's head coach who also use to be the head coach at Webb. Pinkstaff was kicked out of Webb in 5th grade and since then attends CAK. Webb's coach left Webb in 2006 and joined CAK the next year.

Webb's played mba in the past, once in 2001 and 2002, when MBA was ranked nationaly...so i wouldnt say that this is webb's first welcome to big time high school football even though they got beat handily both times. Webb knows what they are up against and hopefully one day will be there themselves. not now, there young, and have no depth. they have 2 good players, #20 and 1. Being 7-3 this year they have really overacheived as a team with the players they have, esp. in a league like this. I will say that they do have some really really talented players entering highschool next year that will, if they stay the course and keep all of the players, will compete with any team in the state in a few years. Infact they have an eigth grader that is probably one of the best runningbacks in the south. Ive never seen a running back his age run like he does in my life, if he grows a little he will be a very special player. Ive seen Webb multiple times this year and they will score on MBA but they will not be able to stop them at all. It will be close at first then MBA should pull away for a big win.

I was reading the tssaa handbook and i thought it said that if a D2AA team has a .500 0r better record then they too make the playoffs

Catholic by 2 or 3 touchdowns. I dont think fulton will match up very well with catholic this year...but who knows fultons always a hard team to judge.

To be honest im not sure any webb students have even posted on this thread...in fact i read most threads about webb and i do not think i have seen 1 post that would be from a webb student or player. Shoot there was not even a webb-catholic thread a couple of weeks ago. I also dont think any webb parents has ever posted on here from what i can tell and ive been looking on coacht here since 2002 or 2003. But who knows these are all screen names we do not know whos behind them.

Ya i think the split has slowed baylor down more than anything...the wins have dropped off since then.

Father ryan only beat bga by 14...and was down at half.... i would be very surprised if they beat webb by 35...let alone hold them scoreless...if bga scored on them i promise webb will.

Webb's defense has to step up if they want to win. Their offense can score, but when they played ensworth they could not tackle their running backs. Webb has to pull off a win against either baylor, mccallie, or father ryan if they want to make the playoffs. If webb's d has gotten any better since that ensworth game then they have a chance if not expect ryan to roll on.

CAK reminds me of catholic before 2002 and before catholic built a new school and got a new coach. Back then Catholic would be undefeated but playing awful competion...they would also throw the ball a ton. Then they would come into the webb game talking like they were going to win b/c they were undefeated and could throw the ball against weak competition. Then webb would destroy them by 40 points for 17 years in a row. Finally catholic got smart, got a new coach, school, and a new offense...and better players always helps and the rest is well history. I saw CAK's middle school team and they are really good...they run the ball a ton too and have a lot good players. Help is on the way...

Chad Pennington was 3rd or 4th in the heisman. But in terms of High School no one would of predicted him to turn out like he has...he was sort of a late bloomer...none the less he still was a good high School player.

Nick Mcfadden went to a feeder school too right? atleast when he was there it was d2 so he could get finacial aid and play football...oh and austin vann went to a feeder school too...just like his little brother zack.

David Meske of webb has coached against top talent...exp. Troy Flemming, Patrick Turner, Brandon Warren, Jermaine Copeland just to name a few. He has even coached talent like NY Jets QB Chad Pennington. He said with out doubt that the best High School football player he has ever coached against was Golden Tate. I now he is not John Hannah or reggie white in the pros. But in terms of High School football only.... thats a pretty strong statement from someone who has been coaching football for 23 years in tennessee against some of the best the state has offered.

How will the TSSAA ever know if someone just gives somone money. Shoot, i could come up with a million ways around it. One way...Hey Mr. dad of a really good football player...ill pay you 7000 dollars to mow my yard once a month. Bam now you have the money for your son to attend the school. Now you just have to find the people willing and able to give money away...but there always are esp. if you want to win a state championship in football...people give money for facilities all the time...why not for players.

Take a loan out from a catholic booster that can give it and that wants you to play football and make a deal where you only have to pay a certain amount back...say 8 dollars...then you can afford the 7000 dollars a year to go there and play football while still being in division 1. Thats what i would do if i had money and wanted to make the best team in the state...i could create a heck of a team in d1. Now all i need is some money to spare and a few others with money to give to get some studs. Correction to earlier....Catholic's last year in D2 was a first round playoff loss to Notre Dame in 2004. Catholic started becoming good in football in 2002....they went like 7-5..the next year in 03 they were real good but loss to BGA in the state championship. Before 2002 they were not very good at all. They built their new school off cedar bluff in 2001, moving off magnola, and got a new coach in 2002 and that my friends is the rise of Catholic football.

Notice since 1997....aka the public/private split. Still, congrates you have to play with the cards your delt and Maryville's played them well.

Webb is not the same team it has been for the past 2 years. They have 3 players that are good...their 2 backs and one lineman and they are severly lacking everywhere else. Not to mention one of their best players got kicked out of school and is now starting at McCallie, Joseph Ayres. Webb lost 25 players that contributed to their teams sucess over the past 2 years and now only have 7 seniors. That should not take anything away from ensworth. Their running backs are some of the most talented runners in the state. In a few years they will be the best team in the entire state. McCallie should win but ensworth has some extremely talented running backs.
