Isn't there a new school opening up that will pull from Spring Hill? Also heard they may be moving to 4A after next year is this true? Is there anyone on staff worth keeping? I believe this could be a good job. I have also heard one other rumor. I heard that the players can't work out during basketball season and the B-ball coach pulls against football. Anybody know any facts. Hey Bulldog what about Bennett is he ready to come out of retirement? I think he lives out that way does he?

So who are some possible replacements. I know of several young coaches at other schools that would do a great job.

Is it true that Creekwoods QB is hurt and did not play? Will he play this week against Spring Hill. Giles shouldn't be talking about anyone being classless. They are by far the most classless team in the region. Their head coach is full of himself and tries to run the score up on teams. Sooner or later it will come back to bite him

tnsparty, Listen, coach, and we all know you and Sacdawgs are coaches but that being said I was not bashing Eubanks. I was just saying that these group of Seniors are Smith's. Under his leadership is were they were developed. The sophomores class will be developed under Eubanks. I was not in any way saying anything bad. In my opinion which means very little when an athlete spends 3 years under one coach and 8 months under another then he was developed by the 3 year coach. That is why it usually takes 2-3 years to turn programs around. Obviously I was exagerating about the 40 carries. I was just making the point of what a great player petigrew is. Great scouting report. Those "great" 6 5A coaches can't seem to figure that out. I am sure Rector will pick up on it. He is the best coach in the region by far but just doesn't have the players this year. And as for the making of Eubanks a great coach lets hold off a year or 2 on the annointment. I am a big fan of his and he is a great guy. Heck I speak to him probablu once a week but turning around and handing the ball to Pettigrew 40 time a game I can do that. Let see how he develops over the next couple years. Lets make no mistake about it as much as I dislike Smith this years staff is still reaping the rewards of what he built over last couple years. This is very much still his team. Can the coaching staff keep building a program now that he as gone. That will take a year or 2 to determine.

Rector and Ravenwoods run is over. Independence will run over them. Ravenwood has looked weak up front and the talent they have had last couple years is not there this year. If Indy doesn't beat them this year then they will never beat them. Indy's talent goes way down next year and in 2010 a new school opens that will deplete Independence. Eagles torch the Raptors 31-6

I wished I ran a 4.5 forty. But you proved my point. You get mad when anybody stereotypes band but you turn right around in all your posts and do it to athletes. As far as the breaks. I guess in between songs is not a break? In a band performance it is not full speed!!! It cannot be full speed. Like I have been taught on here band members have to be in a line and certain place. Therefore if someone else's full speed was faster than the others the whole routine would be messed up. If you look a little deeper then you would probably find that the more in shape and better band membeers actually have to slow themselves down and wait on the others in order to maintain the routine. So to say band is all out exercise and conditioning is "retarded"

Last night the Tuba players tripped over the guy blowing the flute? The band director lead the group of nerds on to the field? What could they have written? So in todays feel good society we tell everyone that what they are doing is a good thing and they are athletic so they feel good about themselves. Well here is the truth. If everyone played band then our society would be made up of a bunch of tree hugging, hippie want-a-be's with very little dscipline. MOST band kids are the ones that used to be referred to as exentric -a term that has been turned to be a good thing now even though it is not. I bet Jeffrey Dalmer and Helter Skelter were in the band. The biggest difference between band and football is football teaches you about life. So play your flute and be happy buit some day reality will hit.

I would consider cheerleading an athletic activity not a sport. The reason it is considered that to TSSAA is because there is no other category to put it. It cannot be considered a fine art. If it has a coach then it must be governed. So it falls under TSSAA.

Alright folks here is a fair checklists comparing the 2. Heat Band in shorts/shirts football in Helmets/Pads check to football. Movement Band=walking and jogging Football=Full speed sprints and cuts. Check football. Physical Activity Band is beating/blowing Football is collision/collision/collision check to football. Injury Band is sprained ankle/chapped lips/sore jaws Football is ACL/concussion/broken bones/etc. Check to football Time Both deserve checks on this topic.

I personnally haven't seen Page play. I just know some of the players from when they played Independence last year. If the line is not blocking, the Qb making proper reads, Wr getting open, or the Rbs hitting the right hole then 9 of the 11 should have been benched. Have you ever heard you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. Page needs to learn how to play hard every play. Here is what I know. Coach Daniels is the best head coach in the county and has proved that with the way he turned Brentwood and Ravenwood around. Herzog was D-coordinator for a hillsboro team that went to state championship game 3-4 times under him. Coach Bone is a heck of a line coach maybe the best in middle tennessee. A couple of young coaches that I don't know much about and Coach Lee who I think used to be a head coach. That is a really good high school staff

Every team has tendencies. If you watch film you can pick out what a team is going to do when in a certain formation. It comes back to execution. If you have the athletes to execute then you will be successful. Playing with below average athletes like #32 and #11 makes it hard to compete with teams with above average athletes. If I were the Qb I would throw to Lankford and Neel as well. Throw to the others and it will be dropped.

Band was put into the schools to represent Football. Know your history there chief. Getting pumped up coming out of locker room is rediculous. You are an idiot. And as for what your daughter said she is probably convinced it is a sport. B/c of respect for you daughter I will not tell you the best thing about band. What a freakin joke.

I find this funny. Last year all you heard was that it is the coaches fault. They are not using talent. So Page gets arguably the best coach in Williamson County and now again this year it is the coaches fault. Have you ever stopped to think that just maybe there isn't a lot of talent at Page. All their receivers other than Neel are slow and he is hurt. Then on top of being slow they can't catch. And when it is a run play the WR jog off the line. You sound like an upset parent who thinks his son is the greatest and in reality so blind to the obvious. I heard that last week a lot of the seniors were benched because of lack of effort. I think that is exactly what should happen. You all beat a good man(coach P) down talking behind his back and now you are doing the same thing to another good man in Daniels. We have our problems at Independence but hearing this same old song from Page is getting old. Take a look in the mirror before blaming the coaches.

As I said in the other post all you have to do is answer this question. What is the purpose of the band? They are there to support the football team. There whole existance is based on the football team. yes they work hard and practice lots of hours but they are in no way a sport. It is this simple if you can walk and chew gum at the same time then you can be in the band. But that doesn't make walking and chewing gum a sport. Are bands important. I would say yes it gives fans motivation to get out of there seats and go to the concession stand so they don't have to look at the crap. I think we have watered down the word "athleticism" walking does not make you an athlete. Walking and blowing a horn does not make you an athlete. Has anyone ever thought why band members want to be considered a sport? It is because they want to be an athlete and band is their only chance. They can't cut it in football or any other true sport. Life is harsh and not everyone is cut out to be an athlete. That is why schools allow bands so that they feel apart of the school. When you report to band camp there are no physical tests. If you know the schools fight song then you are in.

It is as simple as this. Why does band exist? They exist to support the football team. That is the sole purpose of their existance. Band parents may go watch their little band geek play but no one other than that. Without football there would be no band. In fact I would bet that virtually all of the student body would rather there be no band at halftime and they get to go on field and throw the ball around like at a JV game.

You are right school district not individual school. Publics can't control their numbers so they can stay in a certain division like the privates. Mustangfan you are different from the other Lipscomb fans, You are an arragant conceded ######. Anything that is different from you, causes you to pass judgement. If the parents where moving merely for athletics like you say then they wouldn't have to ask a realtor now would they. As for what I said about teams moving up I put IMPOSSIBLE in quotes b/c obvioulsy that is not achievable. I did find it interesting that you found it being punished to have to move up and play bigger schools. Again lipscomb fans, coaches, and players I have major respect for yoou and appreciate the way you play the game, but guys like this gives you all a bad name. Must be a lawyer or politician!!!!!

That is the most arrogant and rediculous thing that I have ever heard. First, Coach Mac is a great coach but would not have that same success at a public school because he would actually have to teach classes and not focus on football all day. Second to think there would be a mass movement to schools with parents pulling up stakes and moving into the zone is stupid. If that did happen you would be rezoning every year due to over population. Why doesn't Ravenwood and Franklin and Hillsboro have that problem of everyone wanting to play for them. Their programs are better than Lipscombs and they are 5A. Even better Fulton who mopped the field with you all last year. If a parent up and moves just to put their kid in a school for sports then they are ignorant. Lastly if everyone did that then at least everyone is on the same playing field with zones and have that opportunity to build that dynasty. I don't have a problem with Lipscomb their fans have always been extremely classy. their players play with class. So I am not in any way bashing Lipscomb. I just think that if TSSAA is going to charge everyone equal fees and take equal gate during playoffs then everything else should be equal as well. Lets face it Goodpature, Lipscomb, etc. would all be competetive at 5A level so I would suggest either every private play 5A or a total split. I also think that it would be cool (impossible) but cool that the when reclassification is done every 4 years the 4 champions move up a level. For example, Goddpasture has won 2A then they move to 3A, Lipscomb to 4A, Maryville to 5A.

Let me clarify some of the Page misconceptions. I am a Independence fan but will tell the truth. This is not about privates or publics it is about the cocky smart elic punks that get on here talking about Page students working at McDonalds etc. First off, Williamson County is the best school system in the state when it comes to scores on national ans state tests. Page High has the highest scores of any other school in Williamson County. Yes higher than Brentwood, Ravenwood, and my beloved Independence. And you are right Page's kids do work at McDonald's etc. because their Mommies and daddies can't afford to give them everything. It is called being pampered. Someone said the world is not fair get used to it. You are exactly right but the TSSAA is supposed to be fair for all schools. Page can't compete with Lipscomb on the field this year that is for sure. They have very little speed and even less leadership. Neel and Lankford are good players but terrible leaders. But I promise you this much Page can compete with Lipscomb in the classroom. It is no longer a little red neck school.

About the facilities. The county decided it was time to give Page a watering system equivalent to the other schools. So they waited ti mid summer to install. Then with the drought Page was not allowed to water their fields. The only water the field has gotten in 6 weeks is the rain and we know how much that has been. It will be like playing on concrete Friday night. As for Page or Centennial disrespecting each other I believe it is more of a bunch of parents getting on these boards or students that don't have the nads to play football doing all the talking. These guys will play hard because it is friends playing friends then there will be hugs after the game. Any team page or anyone else would be stupid to not respect the speed of Centennial. Page just doesn't have the athletes to play with Centennial. They are at my beloved Indy
