David I'm sure you are a fine and outstanding person, you got to be to put up with what you put up with
I was not bashing the tourney, the teams in the tourney, the fields, coaches, concessions, and whatever else I got accused of in the other posts.
First, of all I'm pretty easy to get along with. I'm not the redneck heckling the umps hoping the game to get over so I can go to the truck and get a beer out of the cooler.
I too, am a parent , that organized a booster club for my school, TSSAA basketball official for 5 years, and spent coutless hours at the gym or ball park doing what your doing.
The riverdale tourney is one of the best in the southeast!
What I was saying, before everybody took it to the next 2 or3 levels is;
I'm a dad going to see my kid playing, not a scout, college coach or such. There was two teams I wanted to see play, Forrest and whoever they was playing, Great that you have the best players in the state, but I just wanted to watch mine.
Even though it rained, I was disappointed that I had to set 41/2 hours to see the game I wanted to see. I don't think there was another team of the 39 left that had a 12 hour space between start times.
I wish all the teams good luck, but I do like to see Forrest win as much as you like to see Riverdale win, and with that much time between games?
I'm sure if Riverdale was in somebody elses tourney, and that happen to them, you might do a little eye rolling yourself.
As far as fussing with coaches , I don't no what you mean by that? What { I } said is I Did NOT here the coaches fussing about the time and I didn't do any fussing either. Also, this is MY opinion not Forrest High School, or anybody else.
I know you worked your butt off to make this success, but the only thing I meantby my comment is : The scheduling was bad for the team I wanted to see, Forrest!
