I can only speak for the teams that I have seen in person. These include Henry County , Covington , Dyer County , Chester County and Covington. Henry county is in a class by themselves. Dyer County , Liberty and Chester County are all better, in my opinion, than Covington. I was impressed with Chester County and think they will give Liberty a fit. The only other thing that I have is I would put Milan #2 until someone proves them otherwise. Milan is Milan.

That would mean that these two administrations would have to do something that made since. They had to take the easy way out. Instead of dealing with the problem lets just make it go away. What a joke. Once again lets just consolidate and kick butt.

The paper says suspended for the year in all sports and it will be evaluated in a few months for the future. I know how to fix this. Consolidate the two schools and kick everybody's butt.

Stowe did not have a chance when he got here and it does not have anything to do with the fans. ( see his Haywood record with probably the best talent pool in West TN ) and it does not have anything to do with losing to Dyer County. It all boils down to a winning tradition that is going down the drain because Ramer will not hire the right person for the job. Dyersburg does not have the talent to over come mistakes and no discipline. They are out manned 95% of the time. Counce teams won games because of discipline and execution. That is the type of coach Dyersburg must have in order to compete om a weekly basis.

Trust me Counce Jr left because of Ramer. If MBA was the reason he would still be there.

Who we talking about. We are finally getting rid of most of Dyersburg's problem in my opinion. Ramer is retiring. He is the reason that the Counces are not still here. Maybe Ramer's replacement will take pride in what Dyersburg use to have and fix things because lets be honest my wife could have a .500 team at Haywood. I do not have anything against Bart Stowe but he was not ,is not and never will be the right guy for Dyersburg.

Don't have a dog in this race but if you think that Counce plays someone because of who they are , you are dead wrong. He will have the right kids on the field. This is a young team with a new system. Calm down because I can guarantee that Henry County will kick some butt under Counce.

It is not a rumor. It is a fact. Unless something happens Coach Counce is coming to Henry County. Summers is not coming with him. Also I would like to say that I do not think it took any persuading to get him to come. He missed football in a bad way and should not have retired to begin with. I would also mention that I do not think Sam Miles did this in a underhanded way. He is a good man and only wants to have one of the best coaches around. Congradulations HC

I think this game might be a lot closer than everyone is predicting. Dyersburg has just as much over all talent as Milan. The difference in this game will be the coaches. With all the problems being talked about in the Dyersburg program, can Coach Stowe right the ship ? We will see. Good luck Trojans

All I know is when Bowling came to Dyersburg the kids and the parents acted like idiots..Stowe is in town and "SAME SONG, DIFFERENT VERSE"..and what gets me is "HOW MANY OF THESE PARENTS WHO ARE CONFRONTING THE COACHES ACTUALLY PLAYED ANY TYPE OF SPORTS IN HIGH SCHOOL"?.. I don't Coach Counce will ever return..but they need somebody "WHO WILL RUN THE PROGRAM WITH NO INTERFERENCE FROM THE PARENTS AND TAKES NO LIP OFF THE PLAYERS".. LOL..Tim Thompson isn't doing anything these days..since he got booted from the Ridgeway job for having ILLEGAL players in spring practice...Get him up here..He'll put some DISCIPLINE in the program. and we would be entertaining to watch..He won state titles at Melrose and had Fayette-Ware in the playoffs...Only thing they might call us the Dyer County of Football...Because he would have kids from Ripley to South Fulton playing for us... ( THIS IS A JOKE ABOUT THOMPSON FOR THOSE WHO DON'T GET IT".. First of all you are probably the worst high school football fan I have ever seen. You my friend are the great "In the Stands" Coach that everyone dreads hearing from. Secondly, I think you may have somewhat of a freaky obsession with the great "Coach Counce". You rag on Coach Stowe and his record, Im quite certain that Stowe Beat your beloved Counce on numerous occasions. Coach Counce is GONE and Coach Stowe is running the ship. Your exactly right when you say Coach Stowe is a fine man , in fact he is one the the greatest guys I know as a coach and as a person. He cares about his program, winning, the community, and most of all His Kids That He Coaches. It sounds like to me its the assistant coaches that are causing problems within the program, and I will have to say I saw that coming back in the spring when I myself visited during Spring Practice. The biggest thing people in Dyersburg need to do is rally behind Coach Stowe and their team, especially in a big game like this week . Yea so what you lost a couple of games, NO ONE goes undefeated EVERY YEAR!!! Its all about making the playoffs and running the table in High School Football. Quite talking smack and rally behind your team!! You are correct, I think Stowe did beat Counce a few times,Dyersburg is 9 and 5 against Haywood since 1996, but like someone said earlier in this thread Stowe should have beat everybody with the talent he had in Haywood. Nobody said that Stowe was not a good person. He is a fine man , but a good coach, I don't know. I do know Dyersburg has a lot of talent this year and they are 4 and 3 for the first time in a long time.

Actually T.O. did play for Dyersburg. He quit before the Obion game. T.O. was his nickname. He was the starting middle linebacker.

With the 9 team region the TSSAA gave the coaches and Admin the choice to play 8 region games which means only 2 nonregion games or to break into 3 pods. The coaches including Coach Counce picked to play in pods (Dyersburg, Crockett, Obion; Gibson, Milan, Westview; Ripley, Covington, Milan). U play two teams from every pod with the choice of playing other teams nonregion. Dyersburg did not draw Gibson and Ripley. With Wheeler leaving Ripley he chose to play Dyersburg instead of DC. I am sure that Counce was very happy to play Ripley. You are wrong. The vote was 5 to 4 in favor of pods. I believe Gibson , Obion , Westview , Milan and Crockett voted for pods. Dyersburg voted to play eveyone in the region. I was told that the vote was expected to go the other way and Crockett voted for pods. Also you confused me with the Ripley statement. Dyersburg played Dyer County in game 1.

If you would have asked me a month ago, I would have said this would be the best game in West Tenn this year. Not anymore. The wheels are coming off in Dburg and looking at the schedule they may not win another game. I am not a parent just a die hard fan and former player from way back who played when we sucked and football was run by politics. It is simple. Dyersburg fans and parents are spoiled to winning and when your new coach runs strech right , strech left and fullback dive every play, you had better execute and block. This is not happening and adjustments are not being made. THIS FALLS ON THE COACH. The real Dyersburg Trojans have showed up for 3 games and a lack luster unprepared bunch has been there the other 4. Once again this falls on the Coach. You can't go from having a controlled old school mad man who puts the fear of God in his players to this type of coach and expect things to be the same.

Good game Trojans. I thought this game would be closer. I'm not trying to be cute but what was the surprise supposed to be ? Also what was wrong with the Covington player who left in the ambulance and is he ok ? We will pray for him.

Dyersburg's base offense is the I formation. We have a very good offensive line and maybe the fastest running back around. He had 265 yards and 5 tds in the first game. We can throw the ball good enough to keep you honest. Our back up QB started game 1 and played very well. The starter has been released from the doctor but I do not know if he will play. Our run defense should be good with good lineman and LBs. Sort of hard to tell since DC only ran the ball 2 times but we have several returning from last year. I expect a low scoring game with the team who makes the fewest mistakes to win.

Someone call Adsmom and tell her there is a DC / Dyersburg thread , so we can keep it going.

Dang, everyone sure is quiet. There is alot of uncertainty this year. Dyersburg returns alot of players but has a new coach. DC lost alot to graduation but has a very good young QB. My prediction is that Dyersburg will run the ball and Dyer County will throw the ball. Who is going to stop who ? That will be your winner. I'll give a score closer to game time. On a side note , Dyersburg's starting QB broke his foot yesterday.

Dyersburg finished up spring practice last week. I went out a couple of days and watched. The offense is going to be hard to stop with Snook Taylor and Caldwell in the backfield at the same time. The QB looked very good also.

If Dyersburg can replace the QB who was lost to graduation, they should be tough.

I'll put it like this. There are going to be alot of mad Trojan fans and happy Rebel fans.

I far as I know, noone has been offered the job. There have been 5 people interviewed and the Lake County coach is not one of the 5. They are interviewing more coaches this week.

They have interviewed 5 coaches that I am aware of. It could be a couple of weeks before a decision is made.

They have interviewed 4 people so far.
