  1. Which team featured the best player..I know the shox had some good guards and post, the memphis team feature some good wings and skill players..Who were a few of the best players in 12u State?
  2. Yea, I heard that same thing and maybe I didnt say it the right way. But obviously if a person is forging birth certificates they're also playing illegal players. But anyway, good luck to Jermaine and Celtics organization. I hope they get it right for the kids sake, those are the ones getting hurt in the long run.
  3. Well that is good to know. I was only reporting what a close and informative source repeated to me. Considering this guy is heavily involved in AAU, I figured he would know. But I'm glad the Memphis Celtics are playing well and representing TN.
  4. The Ballerz 16 Elite did not play, they were resting to prepare for the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions. But the Ballerz 16 Select team beat the Ballerz Elite 17. This is probably a case of the program being strong from top to bottom instead of most people thinking the 17s are weak.
  5. FINAL RESULTS: 1. YOMCA Team Memphis 2. TN Travelers 3. Memphis Tigers (TOP 3 Nationally) 4. TN Flames 5. CDF Thrashers 6. TN Tigers 7. Memphis Stallions 8. TN Tarheels This was one of the best state tournaments this state has seen.
  6. The reason I'm high on the Bearcats is because of the fact I saw them beat some really respectable 14u teams two weeks ago. They finished 4th in 14u Central South substate. The Stars lead the season series 2-1. The Bearcats have not played any of those teams. But I think its hard to argue with the fact that considering they've already qualified for Nationals losing to a Top 12 team Nationally in Super Regional in Championship game.
  7. I agree that the ThUNDER has a nice ball club. They do some really good things, however I dont think they have the inside presence to play with the Bearcats. The Clarkville Stars are capable of winning a few games in state because they have good guards. However they're post play is weak right now.
  8. A close source told me that the TN Flames won their game over the TN Tarheels. It was largest margin of victory of the night. Its good that each game was competitive. That should let everyone know that either Middle TN is catching up with Memphis or its balancing out all over.
  9. Personally, I really dont have a horse in this race but to say the Bearcats are overrated thats crazy. I think anytime you coach your son, people always say "favortism" or "politics"..But the coaches does a good job and it helps when his son is a good player. The Memphis Stallions 13u are playing in 14u this weekend and they're trying to qualify for 14u Nationals. If thats the case they wont even play 13u. The War Eagles are good as well as the Knoxville Elite but I think you still have to give the TN Bearcats an edge. Lets say they're at least Top 4. The won a super regional last year thats why they were able to attend DI Nationals
  10. Young Vols (East) Knoxville Elite (East) Clarksville Stars (Central-North) TN Thunder (Central-North) TN Bearcats (Central-South) Memphis War Eagles 12u (Central-South) Memphis Stallions (West) Memphis War Eagles (West) You probably have to go to Memphis Stallions-TN Bearcats in the championship game
  11. Because they were caught playing illegal players last year in 13u as well as other age groups, the Memphis Celtics did not participate in AAU this year. The Memphis Stallions 13u will compete with the TN Bearcats for 13u state championship. On paper this is how I think it will stack up for 14u.. 1. Memphis Tigers 2. TN Thrashers 3. TN Travelers 4. TN Flames 5. Memphis YOMCA 6. TN Tigers 7. Memphis Stallions 13u 8. TN Tarheels The Tarheels do play extremely hard and have some big physical post players so with them finishing last, thats not a bad thing because of how competitive this tournament is but I just dont think they'll have the guard play to compete at such a high level. Should be a exciting weekend of basketball.
  12. East 1. TN Travelers 2. TN Thrashers Central-North 1. TN Flames 2. Memphis Stallions 13u Central-South 1. TN Tigers 2. TN Tarheels West 1. Memphis YOMCA 2. Memphis Tigers 14U State Tournament Pool A TN Flames TN Thrashers TN Tarheels Memphis YOMCA Pool B Memphis Tigers TN Travelers TN Tigers Memphis Stallions 13u *Someone correct me if I'm wrong.... With the Tigers being the best team in the state and Top 3 in the Nation, its hard for me to believe they lost a game in the substate. Does anyone have any predictions? You probably have to go with both Memphis teams but I like the Thrashers athletic ability. I love how physical the Flames are and the Travelers have combined size and quickness to compete at a high level.
  13. Who is expected to play in YBOA Substate for 14u? I'm sure with it being in Mt.Juliet the TN Trojans will be there as the host but what are the other teams expected to attend?
  14. Mt. Juliet M.S., I agree he is the most developed big man I've seen at this age. He could make a impact on a really good team. The Trojans dont have the guards to really feed him and get him involved..Good teams will just take him away and let the Trojan guards beat them.
  15. University Heights Academy in Hopkinsville,KY..This school features the top talent year in and year out. At one point they were known for thier international connection but now they're getting the talent right inside their own town. Whats crazy is Hopkinsville is very very small but arguably has as much or more talent than cities like Clarksville, Murfreesboro, and Metro. Those kids know how to play bball. A hot bed for talent. Greg Buckner-Clemson (Now plays for Denver Nuggets) Harold Swannigan-Notre Dame Isiah Victor-Tennessee Andre Buckner-Duke Lamont Barnes-Temple Sergio ??-St. Johns GET THE IDEA?
  16. At this point who has the top 12u team in the state of TN?
  17. Yea, some of those kids play with the Memphis Celtics and others play with Memphis YOMCA.
  18. TN Flames(Murfreesboro)-Won Central-North Substate last year. They have a solid group with good athletes in the right positions. TN Tigers Black (Nashville)-This is the "B" Team but in the past they've played hard and discipline. Can upset a team when they're on and the other team is off. Mottep Panthers (Nashville)-After a one year absence they're back featuring some really athletic players on the wing and in the post. Nashville Nets (Nashville)-From my understanding most of these kids play together at MBA and coming from a successful middle school season should help them. Very discipline but plays extremely hard. Can shoot and go inside, very tough team to play. Clarksville Soliders (Clarksville)-Most of the kids play together at Clarksville-Northeast which also had a successful middle school season. Probably dont have the talent to really compete the whole weekend. But expect a athletic and hard working group. TN Flames (Murfreesboro) WHITE- This is the "B" team and not as good as thier main squad but do have some good athletic players. Memphis Celtics(Memphis)-Finished third last year and could compete for a spot.Featured one of the top PGs and WFs in the state Memphis Ballerz-N/A Midstate Ballerz-N/A Those are just a few teams expected to come. Most of Middle TN is in Lynchburg
  19. If I'm not mistaken the pools go as following: Pool A TN Thunder Clarksville Stars Team Memphis Pool B Middle TN Gym Rats Middle TN Magic Clarksville Soliders TN Trojans This has to be the weakest region for 13u substate from the looks of it. Not sure who I would give the nod to. The TN Thunder is a favorite along with Magic and Gym Rats. Memphis teams are always talented. The surprise teams may be the Stars from Clarksville and the Jags. I look for a rematch of last years Central North Championship game..Magic-Thunder
  20. I tried emailing you because I think I can help you. The Nashville Celtics 14/15 are looking for players that can contribute. Please get back in contact with me if interested.
  21. Is the TN Thrashers, Charles Davis Foundation? This looks to be a really competitive substate. Usually anytime you see the Travelers in a tournament you automatically give them the nod and probably since they're playing on thier turf its rightfully so but look for the two middle TN teams to make some noise along with two chattanooga teams.
  22. Ron Mercer went to Goodpasture before heading off to Oak Hill Academy
  23. Crittendon is playing for Auburn University at Montgomery. He was a NAIA All American this year at the 3/4 spot. He was one of the top players in JUCO the last two years at Volunteer State.
  24. WCWildcat: Did that 14u you know from Springfield ever find a AAU team to play for? Let me know if he didnt, Thanks
