  1. now if I'm not mistaken I think last year GP said that they will grind the ball and control the clock to win, but I also think that they didn't run the ball very well and when they tried to throw the ball they just found lanxter and sommers more than fiegler had to. IMO Alcoa wins, how bad is up to them. If you think Alcoa is coming in over confident, there not, they are playing as good now as they have all year not looking ahead and not over looking anyone. without a doubt GP is a good team or they wouldn't be 14-0 and in the state game, but Alcoa is also for real and when you lose to the potential 3-a, and the 4-a state champs by a combined 6 points when both games could have been W's then you have a reason to be a little confident. Alcoa will slow the run and air it out or run it doesn't matter. Alcoa by at least 21+
  2. alcoa and maryville's second half will be a good one alcoa and b.t. washington should be an interesting 2 a match up in week 10
  3. alright duck played line backer all year and a lot last year, and the fact that he may not have taken as many snaps as boo but he didnt have to when your team puts up the numbers that they have, and no the points are not from being classless they are just that good. how do you say that duck didnt help his team as much as boo last year he had 43 tds and 2000+ yards inc. playoffs and 43 tackles and 1 or 2 ints def. reg season only, this year he has 31 tackles and 2 ints that i know of, not to mention about 1200 rushing yards with 19 tds in just the regular season no playoffs that is what i call helping his team and most of thoes numbers are without playing much of the second half.
  4. I am curious to know how many of these people on here that judge warren actually saw him play any this season, or just go by what they read. In both games he was thrown out he was not necessarily guilty as charged. In the Kentucky game they said he threw a punch at the guy chocking him on the ground, he was tossed and the other guy was not. The Loudon game he did spin the ball and it was the first time he was flagged for it all year, but it just so happened to be after he was flagged for getting drug around by his facemask after a play. I'm not saying what he did was right but he did certainly deserve the award. If you want to talk about a travesty then talk about the backs in 2 A, duck got screwed last year, 43 td's and 2000 yards, and this year the guy winning it didn't even have the best stats on his team, that's a travesty. hope this works now
  5. 2 i think and they may not be very good as of lately but at least my noles get to play for the acc championship whats your gators playing for ohh thats right nothing untill bowl season.
  6. My bad I wasn't trying to bash wrestling I was just throwing out a less popular sport I should have said soccer or something but wrestling came to mind. Tornado and meadows needs to change his playbook in 5 A then don't he. like they say if you cant hang with the big dogs (oak ridge, Riverdale, DB, and others), then you have got to stay on the porch, I liked meadows but it just goes to show you what works for someone doesn't always work for others, Reid 5-5 in 5 A to a state title and possibly another, meadows a 2 A state title to well if he stays at WB, or Jeff co for that matter, more beatings. I Know my Noles are gonna take a thumping but I just hope that them beating tech the last 2 meetings will play with their minds.
  7. I don't know about coach Reid's favoring his players, when I was in his class my senior year, 04', he was harder on the football players and easier on the basketball players like Bigger and Pasqua and some others but that is beside the point. If Alcoa fans are not happy with him that's fine but how are you going complain about his success he came in to a young team that went 3-7 the year before and went 10-4 then next and the state semifinals and last year went 14-1 and a state crown and so far is 13-1 and in the state game again. Sure he has a lot of talent but they had the talent in 02 as well and went 3-7 so coach Reid can't be doing to bad so far, but if your worried wait until next year and see how his team does. tornado74 how are you gonna say a 5-5 record is bad he came from WB, 5-5 there is great, even your hero Meadows best season is 6-5. Alcoa06 what are you a wrestler I mean cmon no other sport at alcoa is even close to football, basketball is second but a distant second.
  8. First of all, great call on the score just about right on. Second, I'm glad to see all you Ram Train riders will be in the boro to support Alcoa in a battle, that is since the tracks were already headed there. I'm sure all the Alcoa fans appreciate the offer for a ride on the ram train but I think ther will be to much crying, j/k. Anyway great game from both teams but Tyner's had to many big mistakes that Alcoa took advantage of, good luck next year Tyner, hope to see you all again.
  9. Ok to let everyone know, who didn't already, the first ejection was for trying to get the Kentucky player off of him while he was being choked, they said there was a punch but none of my friends or myself at the game saw it, and if any of the ones bashing Warren for spinning the ball, then you all apparently haven't seen an Alcoa game this year. He has done this before after some big plays and its not a real celebration since he didn't do anything after spinning the ball except go to the huddle, and when he spun the ball he didn't dance over it or near it, he jumped up spinning the ball and was headed to the huddle. all I know is why throw the flag then and not any other time during the season? For all you worried about Alcoa I think they will be ok since after the ejection they posted up 19 and still blanked the skins.
  10. I was at the Alcoa game and the 4-6 GP team gave up like 4 ints for td's and had I think 2 fumbles returned for touchdowns and yes the starters were being pulled in the first quarter. good defense and bad decisions by GP's offense is a big reason for the score being so high. By the way if you were a player who rarely played wouldn't you want to score if you got the chance in the playoffs, I know I would but I would have to think how the score looked first I guess come on people if you saw the game you wouldn't be complaining.
  11. I was at the game until the 3rd quarter and when you give up I think 5 or 6 touchdowns to the defense then its hard to say Alcoa was running the score up. Everyone knows when you get in the game and you have a chance to score you will take it especially on defense. Alcoa looked great and GP didn't Alcoa's d did its job and GP just couldn't get anything going. GP was 4-6 and was a backdoor entry into the playoffs out of a bad region 1 their best team was Cumberland Gap at a stout 9-1 and they got beat by a down year Oliver Springs team at 6-4 all the region 1 teams in 2 A got beat so congratulate the teams and be done with it, good job Alcoa.
