whoever says he is quiting and working on baseball is completely wrong. He is always at workouts in the morning. I've never even heard him mention the possibility of quitting football and playing baseball. It doesnt look like there will be any freshman that will get significant playtime this year at least not on varsity. I'm sure they will have alot that will start on JV.

CAK's Joseph Bennett has had well over 100 tackles the last two years including 145 as a Soph. He also took in 9 sacks last year. In a recent combine at the D1 Facility he ran a 4.42 and had a 38 inch vert and ranked as the best propsect.

we have been lifting and running since a week after the year. We are actually in spring practice right now so that all players can participate and not conflict with other sports.

a smart coach chooses his plays based on what the defense is doing. SG was sending linebackers all night which lead to openings in the secondary so we threw it more. If you guys were playing more pass coverage we probably would have run the ball more. It all depends on the pass-run ratio on what the defense is doing.

Who do you think will win the rematch of last years first round match up? Last year the Warriors, won 36-26.

I think the Warriors will win in a close one by 7. The Warriors strong rushing attack and defense should help them win a close one over Sweetwater.

i think it'll be about like last year

New offensive cordinator is Coach Maynard former Head Coach at Bearden replacing the retired Coach Carlen. The defense did great against Union County, and respecivly with Johnson County they only gave up two first downs and one big play. Johnson county got the ball inside the 50 on just about every score they had due to the 6 or 7 turnovers and CAK didnt give up many yards. The only real "bad" performence was against Alcoa

CAKs defense did pretty good giving up only 2 first downs and one long play but it was the field position that killed them. Johnson county time and time again would get the ball already across the 50 due to special teams screw ups and CAKs 6 or 7 turnovers.

Alcoa 28-7

i think he is way too conservative and doesnt utilize the talent Alcoa has. Riverdale never had a fourth of the talent Alcoa did and he won there by being conservative and grinding the ball down the midlde. I dont think he is utilizing the talent at Alcoa.

Anyone know what teams will be participating this year? I've heard a rumor that CAK will not be, but its only a rumor.

the main reason the 3-3 stack doesnt work is, it is to stop a passing attack that 99% of highschools dont have. You need great pass rushers to make it work. That is good if you are like Alcoa and have two D1 DE's but at most normal high schools that wont work. Most schools will try it for a year and then pull it out of their system. The best defenses for the high school level are run stopping ones because thats what the majority of teams do. If i were a coach i'd run a 4-4 or a 5-2 set for my team.

CAK-Loudon should be a pretty close game last year. One thing that did happen in that game that you didnt mention is their star RB getting hurt earlier on in the 4th. As for the rain, that hurts them too for a runningback that relys on quick cuts. CAK should have a similar year as they did last year. Cates seems to be the leader in QB race this far. Derron Logan will be a suprise at the runningback position. CAK will run more of a true west coast offense with more screens and draws instead of its normal pass-heavy deep throwing ball. They should be more run oriented then last year.
