I have a hard time beleiving you can judge an entire schools fans.....by 3 or 4 peoples ignorant internet posts.....the fact is DB has close to 2000 kids, south has a 1000....it is a major hurdle to be competitive with a school twice anothers size....ask tenn high and elizabethton.......they got a taste of what south has been dealing with the past few years.......especially with the decline in population of its student body due to kingsport annexation...south's pop. has decreased and DBs has increased

I have not been to the project area of Colonial Heights. Could someone give me directions? Have you been to beech creek or fall branch....col. heights isn't the only place feeding south........the point i'm making is apparently the education must be somewhat equal at both of these schools.....yes city schools may have a little better education.....but maybe south students just bubble in better or are better guessers on standardized testing....or maybe their upper to middle class parents can afford a good tutor....I don't know.....I just highly doubt the quality of education in city schools would be hurt by an annexation of a county schools....

because souths kids are upper to middle class it makes them smarter?? I understand what you are saying, but also think the education they recieve plays a part on how they score on these standardized tests. Just because you aren't upper or middle class doesn't mean you don't score well on standardized tests. Correct me if i'm wrong, I realize the city schools recieve more funding because of their larger majority of low income students, but I also feel that the education recieved at these schools must be somewhat coinciding because of these test scores.

Thats funny because last year in the dreaded kingsport times news, an article was posted rating schools by their students ACT scores and South a county school was on top above DB a city school in avg. ACT scores of their students. Hmmmm......puzzling eh?

Kingsport has 2 teams with 9-1 records.......DB and Sullivan South. Both first in their conferences.......only 1 point seperated these teams........neither team gets much coverage.......although db receives more than south.....very pitiful if you ask me......high school football coverage died at the times news when ron bliss left....
