  1. LaVergne won 17-0. Defense looked promising. Didn't play their best but getting super close to where we need to be before friday.
  2. Riverdale Smyrna LaVergne Wilson Central Coffee County MBA Hillsboro......this will be a good one. Cumberland County Lincoln County
  3. 2p, when will the Pick Em' be started? I need myself a Plus membership.
  4. I just couldn't do it. Plus, when it all comes down to it, I'd rather be Batman than Robin. We are looking really good though. Honestly, better than I expected and WAY better than everyone thinks we'll be.
  5. I know everyone's philosophy on passing tournaments, but like I was telling a lot of Smyrna players. If Siegel looks like they did in LaVergne's passing tournament, then Smyrna will very well pass 40 times. Or it might not be that much because Riguez, Jonah, Hager, Torres, etc. might just take them to the house on long bombs. 1st game of the year. Only game on Saturday in the area. I'm almost positive Smyrna wants to come out letting everyone know that they are looking to try to repeat. I'll definately be there, like everyone else in rutherford county. Plus, its on TV. Smyrna 35+ I'm not sure how much Siegel will score, but whatever it is. Smyrna will score 35 more than that. Or more.
  6. So basically LaVergne is the pillow of the region this offseason. Cus everyone is SLEEPING on us. Been to the playoffs two years in a row. Nine 3-year starters, but everyone is guaranteed that a team full of middle school ballers are gonna beat us. Friday can't get here any slower. In the DNJ, they had LaVergne at a 2.2% of winning the region. By all means, I'm not saying we will, but I think siegel was at like 6.8 or something. Thats blown up and posted in the weightroom. Blackman will definately not be taking lightly, but the seniors on the team are hungry and we will do everything it takes to not lose to Maurecio and company so the expectations for them better be fulfilled.
  7. Speaking of Thomas, where is he going to college? Is it Austin Peay? and is he playing football or basketball?
  8. Still no updates? Someone please fill me in....
  9. Yes. As of right now, there is nobody on the roster that shouldn't be healthy come week 0.
  10. They actually proved that they didn't need to be balanced. They only lost 2 games against the state champs and McCallie, another excellent team. When they beat Smyrna 49-0, i believe they had 495 rushing yards and attempted 0 passes. Thats as perfect as it can get. Hopefully its different this year.
  11. I think Riverdale's offense will be too strong. Considering Riverdale PERFECTED the Wing-T last year, they will be more than ready for it. Riverdale 21+
  12. Hope not! lol.. Blackman is very young. Hopefully us having nine 3-year starters and a lot of senior leadership this year will play a big part.
  13. Ryan Williams. Coach William's (Defensive back/defensive coordinator) son. Will be a 3rd year starter and 1 of the 3 that dressed varsity freshman year. Hardest hitter on the team. Also the other big candidate for QB. Keep in mind that A-rod BARELY beat him out of the spot his sophomore year. Made all-district for baseball so he definately has an arm.
  14. Blackman... who is Shawn Smith? I just saw his highlight tape. WOW!
  15. Yes it's still on. The players I know of is Blackman: Wallace Siegel: Harper Oakland: Valentine Elrod Webster Wilson Central: Atkins Majors McChurch Lebanon: Sallis a couple of more, just dont know names..
  16. He's been injured since May. He came back at camp and picked up right where he left off, but then got reinjured. This time nothing major and will be back for week 0.
  17. Yeah thats true because I just remembered it was a 2nd stringer that ran that back. Who knows, it was close. Can't really tell from scrimmages. But I hope Indy does well this year. They've come a long way in last couple of years in 5A, like LaVergne.
  18. Good post. Well its hard to determine who won this one because if you want to count every score, I believe Indy took it by like 2 TD's. But if you count the 1st teams scores then I think LaVergne won it by 3 because of the INT for a TD late in the scrimmage before 1st team was benched. Then again, they didn't count the blocked punt because they wasn't moving the ball on special teams so we lucked out. Its hard to tell. First on Independence. I think they will have a solid season this year. Cordell is a pretty good QB. Offensive line looked like their weakest spot to me on the field. Secondary did a good job on our WR's for the most part. Baugh will be Indy's playmaker if they use him more often. #12 is a beast. Offense and defense. I think thats Ryan Constigilio(sp??). LaVergne's defense looked great. Gave up a couple of big plays, however, all of them were on 2nd stringers. But thats what scrimmages are for. LaVergne's secondary looks very, very, VERY promising. DB's did a great job against a good passing team, especially without all-state CB, Justin Bather, he's still sidelined. Defense also looked good on goal line run. Indy had some big tailbacks and defense stopped them a couple of times on goal line. There is still just a tiny hole to fill on the D-line. All big runs by Indy were right up the middle. They rarely ran to Ukwu's side and when they did, they didn't get much. LaVergne's offense looked "ok" for the most part. Randall Tillery will be one of the best backs in the mid-state. Offensive line did a pretty good job, however the pass block wasn't too good. WR's made plays and didn't have any flat out drops. I think Gray might of had around 100yds and a TD. The #3 WR, Darnell Horton wasn't at the scrimmage either. Crocker and Williams both made good strides and bad. Crocker did good for the most part, but he tries to do more than he has to sometimes. On 3rd and short he will attempt a Vick scramble and its not necessary, he also has to learn to tuck the ball or start throwing it away. Williams and Crocker both ran the ball excellent on traps and speeds. Williams is a great runner with legit 4.6 speed. Williams arm looked good. The only bad decision I saw Williams make was on a option pitch. That can be corrected. Crocker had an off night so I would say Williams looked better last night. Whoever the QB is, they will get it done if they realize how many weapons they have around them. Also, be on the lookout for backup RB, Trey Oliver. He averaged about 6 yards a carry last night and will definately see some carries this year. All in all, good test for both teams.
  19. Will they be able to defend the pass efficiently this year?
