  1. Really? Do you owe him money or somethin'? Sorry, but not everybody feels the same...and we probably know WAY better than any 'outside observer.' Puttin' others on a pedestal is what's insane. Good luck with that.
  2. Mr. Brown's athleticism may help him avoid being hit. (Roger Herndon figured that out early and was an expert his senior year...that yardage really mounts if nobody touches you). He's a great athlete and his class is loa-ded with many more! James Pentecost will be the stud, though: TOUGH(!), has some speed and CAN take a varsity hit...or give one. It may take the class of '14 a while to get goin', but when/if they do, watch out! The class behind them also has some nice players and it will be fun to watch 'em grow and get better as they mature. The question marks will be coaching, injuries and getting the numbers to stick around thru their senior year. If they don't beat Heritage and go 9-1 it won't be a successful year!
  3. For all things Greenbrier Football (& etc.): http://leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=gbbobcats ...and a big 'Thanks!' to Ogor for keepin' it fresh!
  4. I wish high school softball had a song like 'One Shining Moment.' There are good, no, GREAT! stories behind all 3. Let's hear some...
  5. Go 'head on, brutha, that deserves it's on thread... GO Lady Bucs!
  6. I'd just like to say that although I'm just too proud of my girl Hailey Fagan at Cornersville gettin' to State (don't you nevermind that you and Lacye are good buds and all, you...and 'Kenzie and 'Lulu'...go GET IT! tomorrow; y'all can still be real good friends after y'all kick that bootay! )...and my District 9AA 'homegirls' Goodpasture are lookin' REAL good right now and sittin' pretty (shout out to 'Kenzie Leding, 'Peanut' and Brittany Toney who we got to know a little better last year), it's those Beech girls that should be RECONIZED! WHAT a team!!!!! Lose all them 'studs' from last year and kickin' butt and takin' names! TOO cool! Who woulda thunk it...get kicked by a horse and your eyes go crossed; fall in a well and...or somethin' like that. As I said before, them new/old coaches must be geniuses!...I know Coach Woods is...to wait till mid-season to get on 'at train... GO Bucs!
  7. Boy, those new/old coaches got on just in the nick of time, I tell ya... I'd like to give them a couple a million $ to invest...'cause apparently their 'crystal ball' is even better than Mr. KnowitAll's... Congrats! Coach Woods
  8. Who hit 'em? So, who won yesterday at Bobcat Field?
  9. The 'Coffee Co. Classic' = The good ole days! Good luck to all, but especially Greenbrier ( ), Cornersville (Haley & 'Kenzie) & Coffee Co (Casey). *Fix your signature, bro!
  10. ...Don't get sa'worked up. I heard all Doc Sawbones needs is your ss# and burtday to fill that 'happy pills' prescription... NOTE: La-la land is gettin' full, though, so don't take too long ta holler at 'im... (MrNoitAll, here's your sign...)
  11. Uhhh, I think he's made that abundantly clear...that he's talking, in the macro, about founding principles. Let's get real, though...it sounds like you don't care about the truth: You're kinda like, 'yeah, it's true, but let's don't bring up the negative. Let's just be positive ('cause that's how I(!) like it)'...when the whole world knows by now that the truth hurts a little and could even be embarrassing, if it were truly known. Maybe if we could just get MM to comment... By the way, are you a school coach or AAU?...or neither?
  12. While I appreciate your frankness, I'm gonna take exception with this statement, too. I saw his '03-'05 teams and they had as much, and maybe even MORE, talent than this CPA team, in my opinion. Look 'em up: Hobgood, Sikes, Ferrell, House...BAAAD boyz and balluz...all of 'em!! Couldn't beat Lighthouse and some other Christian 'recruiting' schools (imagine THAT!), but good athletes and great b'ball players...with a good coach. Heck, even the '07-'08 team is better than this one...with the same coach...
  13. No anger here as I don't really have a dog in the fight. I just call 'em as I see 'em. As far as White House and Macon Co. being fair and Goodpasture, Westmoreland and Greenbrier being awful: They are what they are...but nobody suspects them of cheating, that I know of. Of course, you never know. GB had an awful lot of transferring and quitting this year so there may be a secret agent we don't know about sabotagin' our program... I think CB is the real deal and the best that ever came out of our little town...by far! In recruiting...or whatever people choose to call it...I understand it takes two to tango. However, it's supposed to be illegal in TN high schools and the reason I'll always hold Kendren and John Jenkins, for example, in high regard. Neither won state championships, but they seem to have gotten their scholarship offers genuinely, led their hometown teams to lots of wins and represented their respective communities honorably. I agree...about our gym. It's the worst I've ever been in. Heard it was even designed by one of our current coaches. Too much crowd pressure, I guess, back in the day... CPA's is much nicer!
  14. Don't matter. Ain't a district game. Sounds like that 'mild back strain' got better...and with a quickness!
  15. In 2007 and 2008, Greenbrier's high school administration allowed students and teachers to attend/support the volleyball team in the state tournament finals. They were bussed in and I'll never forget, as a parent, the 'wave' of green lined up to buy tickets. It was really an emotional feeling to see all those exuberant young people entering the gym to support their fellow classmates and there's no doubt in my mind that it helped my daughter and her teammates win. Sometimes there's a time to celebrate and a time to work. Lord knows this didn't hurt anyone and no one was forced to attend. Life is tough at times for everyone...working parents of both students AND student-athletes, but I can assure you there were life-lessons learned and relationships built upon, too, those couple of days they missed classes. It was a great moment in time that my family will always be thankful for and cherish.
  16. Weren't you real passionate in your defense that no one in 10AA disrespected 9AA last year? So, with that said, I hope you're correct in your world-record early 'prediction'...'cause if you ain't, WHOA!!! Heck, others in 10AA may remind you, too... Also, if you're gonna address the 'problems' with private schools, why, as a matter of fairness, don't you address 'the possibility of new recruits kids coming in, succeeding in the classroom, etc..?' Here's a prediction for ya: If CB, the Rhoten's and JG were still on the team in GB, I(!) 'predict' that they'd have beat CPA silly this year AND next! ...with or without Jalen. By the way, you should consider comedy as an occupation when you graduate.
  17. As MrNoItAll says over on the softball threads, 'they'll be a payin' to get in at the State Tournament'...this year.
  18. Congrats, War Eagles! No doubt about it, you shocked Region 5AA. Now, go forth and shock some mo'... I don't wanna get on y'alls bandwagon. I do salute it, though.
  19. Hmmm, looks like a pretty good market for crow...so, I'll call ahead, 'cause I don't think the concession company at Vol State normally sells it. Heisman, you probably ought to eat two helpin's... Love it! Congrats!!
  20. Not in this sport today. And since it didn't work in this case, what does 'the whole-game stall' do...besides screw-over the fans?
  21. Ahhh, Monterey, TN...that hot-bed of basketball! wingman, did you coach in Monterey 30 years ago? Trust me, Coach Spencer is no Dean Smith. Hey, did y'all hear the one where a lot of people in Nashville paid $5 to see a basketball game and instead were forced to watch a starin' contest?
  22. Glad you guys don't work in a nitroglycerin plant! The only ones that 'played' this game were the coaches...and that just ain't right. They shoulda just flipped a coin.
  23. A good man. Always very respectful and good for the game of girls b'ball. Thankful that those medical people allowed God to worked through them, but all glory and honor goes to Jesus! Recover and get well soon, Mr. Spann. And to his family: Hang in there. God is good!
