  1. give some more info on what they did before the game....just currious.. did they hold hands and sing cum ba ya? I was at the Columbia Shelbyville game and enjoyed the game. I have relatives on both teams and really though Columbia was going to win until the refs called the charging foul on Columbia's 34 when she made the basket. Shelbyville's posts were dominate but you expect that. I think the Lady Lions may surprise some folks in the tournament
  2. Any stats from either source to take a look at?
  3. The thing is who wins their home games and at most 3 losses on the road could win the district. It would not surprise me with the champ (any of 4 schools) could have 3 losses but you better win at home.
  4. Great choice! he was the players choice for sure
  5. This might actually be a good thing for both the coach and school. The school has a tradition all be it a while ago but that community will turn out for a game and follow the bus on the road games. All they've needed is someone with the ability to get the interest from the students back.
  6. I hope for the pool of talent that is left in L.C. that a fit will be found. I think it will be hard because of the last 10-15 years of track records with what happens to winning coaches. Maybe some of the administration and School Board guys and gals could just coach the team and solve the problem. That was naughty I'm sorry... I do have a question Has there been a coach with a losing record at Lawrence Co. lately
  7. Yes the possibilities for Columbia with Janay were fun the explore but the deal is she is better off where she is. She is a senior and signed with West Virginia. I think the poster was talking about Coffee co instead of Tulahoma also. Tulahoma is always rebuilding over 30 district losses in a row. Columbia will have to re tool and work hard as will most of the teams in 8AAA. The district will look a bit different next year. Shelbyville will obviously be the favorite going in but I think Franklin Co will have alot to say about who wins it next year. Everybody has Columbia in a downward spiral but that may be where we need everybody to think we are until the games begin. Well off to the softball field see ya in the funny papers
  8. Well I enjoyed the season, I hated losing to white co. on monday but the best team on that night won. The face of the district won't be that much different next year. Everybody is singing Columbia's death knell but don't count them out. All the posts return and guards that got playing time with new talent coming in. May not be in second but will still be good enought to have a say in the matter. Remember we went to the state with a 15-13 team with no experience! go lady lions! see ya next year
  9. After last year, I'm really interested in what the coach at Cookeville has in store for Shelbyville, they only lost to Columbia by 7 and that wasn't till the last minute. The Cookeville coach usually has something up her sleeve. I don't necessarily expect them to win but it will be interesting. white Co and Columbia have a history but it was too long ago for most to remember I think as long as Columbia doesn't flatten out after an emotional game with Shelbyville that they win this one. I think Riverdale probably beats Coffee Co. I also think The Wildkitties from Lawrence Co sneaks up on siegel also. Time wll tell and there ain't much time left.
  10. Go to their website www.columbialadylions.com They have a well balanced team.
  11. I realize Cleveland is playing well and I didn't say Shelbyville and Columbia would definately play twice I said they could play again twice. Both teams are capable of beating Cleveland we'll just have to wait and see. I know Cumberland Co is good also but they lost.
  12. Congratulations to Shelbyville and Columbia 2 points separate the teams for now I hope we get to play again. I know there are some other teams that will try to keep that from happening but let's hope so. Jarrell was the difference in the 2nd half. It was a war and Shootmore is right that's what it is all about. I think the Shelbyville "having been there so much" makes them use to winning this type of game. The Lady Lions have to get one more notch up and the'll be fine. Wonder what the chances of meeting 2 more times is? Who knows once again great game ladies and nighty night!
