Don't know what to say......Columbia Lady Lions will keep you in our prayers.

Showtime 7 made the point that AAA as a whole was down this year and that may be right. I think 8AAA is up overall. You didn't have the dominating team like the last 2-4 yrs or so but you still have the top 2 teams that can beat anybody in the state on any night and 3-6 could go deep into the region also. I hope all the teams stay healthy throughout the tournament. Here's my tourney thoughts First round winners 1. Columbia 2. Lawrence Co 3. Franklin Co. then 2nd round Columbia over Franklin Co Shelbyville over Lawrence Co. then, Columbia over Shelbyville (in a game that could go either way but I'm for the Lady Lions so Shelbyville fans can flip flop it if they want) Lawrence Co over Franklin Co (home court helps out) THEN here it gets fun Region Columbia vs Cookeville rematch from last year Shelbyville vs. White Co. Riverdale vs. Lawrence Co. Seigle vs. Franklin Co. and guess what 8AAA sweeps okay okay but it's food for thought What do you think?

they will be posting a vacancy for the girls job at Culleoka. The younger talent is there but winning will have to be taught to these girls. It would be a great challenge for a coach looking for a challenge.

What is the rest of the bracket after 2=7 3-6 4-5 play? Is 1 in the bracket with 4-5?

I am going long and a post pattern and saying my buddies from Lawrenceburg win by 4 in OT they play much better at home than on the road and they got spanked tues and probably want redemption.

you got that right...I just saw lynard skynard and couldn't refuse to say that I'm singin it all the way home. I think he meant 3 win in the first round of the region and I think we could sweep region.

Looks pretty good to me. I can see 2 coin tosses. Coffee could upset Franklin Co. I hate that we have to wait until Wednesday the 15th to see what the seedings are.

Close. IF...Franklin Co. loses to CC then they are 6-6 as L'burg is 6-6. You have to look at what you did vs. Franklin Co. head to head. IF that doesn't settle it... it looks like a coin toss for 3-4 seed. it looks like Lincoln Co will be 5-7 so if Franklin Co wins. they'll be 7-5 and in 3 spot with you L'burg 4th.

shsshhhh don't talk about the system you might get red lady all excited and she's been quiet for a month.

Ouch! The Lady Lions came out on a mission tonight. I'm here to tell you that if this is what the ladies have in store...It could get very interesting for the tournament. Way to go ladies and the Senior Citizens rocked.

#1 Shelbyville's only weakness is at guard. they have beaten the teams ranked 1 and 2 in the state. #2 Columbia has battled USA top 25 teams and fared well and beat some of the same teams Shelbyville has in pre season and camps. They have beaten each other on each others home floor. Something the current 1 and 2 teams in the state so far have only done once. This district is not as strong as 9AAA but still could send 2 teams to the state tournament with work.

Absolutely not this district is as strong as any. Just wait til region. #'s 1-2 could go to the state in the right brackets. 3-4 are and will be no slouch and we don't know who they'll be. Don't give up on the district. Big if with Lawrence Co. Columbia could say the same thing.

Yeah It's easy to overlook that win as they are "AA" so we don't get no love. We'll take care of business and business is at hand! It was a great win but like KW said 8AAA needs to take care of it also

Now don't call anyone a fool there are alot of folks who don't even know where Columbia is. We'll have to work hard and in the end the work will pay off. Speaking of the bus.... I was so hungry after the game I'd saved them all that trouble of pouring the happy meals on the bus if they'd let me. It was covered up but they said they had cameras and would find out who it was. They had an idea anyway. It don't matter at least it wasn't tuna. As far as the game... tourney atmosphere. Physical and the Lady Lions took the first step of showing the naysayers that yes we will have to be reckoned with. Great game. No call at the end was just that. That wasn't the only chance Harpeth missed out on. the missed free throws and high turnovers gave them chances also. Latera Owens (31) continued her consecutive double double streak. As a soph she has raised the bar as one of the top soph prospects in the state. Great win and good job coaches and ladies!!! GETRDONE

For the tournament, 1 seed gets a bye 2 hosts 7 3 hosts 6 4 hosts 5 Right? then 1 playes winner of this game 4-5 and the 2-7 3-6 winners plaly soooo Looks like the whole tournament seed could almost be done with a coin toss. More than likely the 1-2 teams will be a toss and 3-4 teams for 3-6 seeds could also. It is looking like a 2 seed (getting to play a game in their own gym) may not be such a bad thing huh. Agree Disagree?

Last year's game was a good one. It was during a run Columbia had that focusing was hard. We just had a hard fought win tonight over Franklin Co. and go to Spring Hill tomorrow. Tuesday will be here soon enough and we'll see. I thing it'll be a great game also and we'll lace em up and go from there.

I don't think if Harpeth can't handle physical play of a AAA team that it necessarily means they won't do well in the tournament. They have a good team and should do well in the tournament irregardless of the outcome of Tuesday's game don't you think? It will be good for Harpeth to play Columbia but more from a fresh face that using the game as a measuring stick for how they'll do in the tournament. I do think there'll be a bit of a difference in the style of play each team is use to and that will shake things up a bit.

Well, I don't know the Lawrence co. score but... Columbia 50 Franklin Co. 43. way to go Lady Lions Shelbyville 49 Lincoln Co. 37 bout as expected looks alot like a coing toss for first seed. But, 3-5 is going to be a rat race and some good team will not make it past district.

This discussion springs out of a conversation on another thread. Without highjacking the Harpeth folk's thread... I thought while things get so heated up that for a moment one could think about halftime or between games. What gets your motor running? My vote: Lawrence County. the smell of the grill hits you in the face when you turn the key off. Great Burgers, chili pie and sweets. Whatchuthink?

er Columbia did last year and kw is right about the food. It's a tradition in 8AAA the road trips are soo long. 120 miles one way tomorrow night to Franklin Co. heck we might eat twice

Well I was comparing schedules, Can't really get too much to compare. I remember the game in Columbia last year. Loved Mendenhall great shooter. Columbia's record is a bit misleading if you are looking at it. We don't get any state wide press cause we're too far from the state wide newspapers to follow us. The district 8AAA is very balanced so we beat up on each other. Harpeth being #1 in the midstate is a great accomplishment but looking at the schedule you've played some good teams but not the best in AA yet but you probably will during the tournament. Columbia isn't ranked, we don't really care. We've played the #2 5A team from Georgia, #3 team USA Today from Delaware, #23 USA Today from California, #2 team 6A from Texas, also so far have split games with some little ole school from Shelbyville Tn. each winning on the other team's home court. Not trying to belittle the situation or Harpeth's team but it will be a war. Very physical. Lots of 3's, Lot's of pressure on both sides. It'll be FUN! Columbia by 15
