165 penalty yards against Cherokee. 22 flags thrown at critical times. This is unheard of in a high school football game. Snifffffff.....smells like home cooking to me. It was obvious to everyone in Hawkins County this was the biggest bunch of cheating refs ever to officiate a ball game. Heck, even some of the volunteer fans said they were ashamed to watch the game. Yes, these penalties had everything to do with the outcome of the game. It was obvious by the game against Tennessee High that Volunteer wasn't a playoff caliber team and unable to play without their extra players in the stripped uniform. But we are talking about basketball. I believe Volunteer basketball players play dirty to compensate for their coaches inabilty to teach sound basketball fundementals.

You obviously don't follow the Green Devils basketball very closely. The only reason Wiggins only scored 10 points against Cocke county is because he only played like 5 minutes in the entire game. He played all 4 quarters against Cherokee. Also, Cleveland is down this year. A win against them is nothing to brag about. Can you tell me the name of the Cleveland D1 prospect and where he has signed? I have seen several 6' 9" basketball players that aren't coordinated enough to tie their own shoes.

Wiggins seems like a good kid with a good attitude and I will admit he did a great job from the freethrow line (8 of 8) at the Cherokee game. It's obvious that if he has time to stand there and nobody is guarding him, he can shoot. I bet he is really hard to beat at games like horse in the back yard. However, Wiggins didn't have one decent look all night unless he was on the freethrow line. It's obvious he is out of shape and has no size or strength to be a threat inside. If Wiggins is a D1 prospect, then who ever recruited him needs to be fired. Science Hill had better players than Wiggins coming off the bench.

Cherokee. Why? Because they are by far the more superior of the two teams. Sorry Volunteer fans, all those letters that you have wrote to Santa Clause about how good you have been and that a Volunteer win against the Chiefs is all you want for Christmas, will be disappointed. I talked to Santa personally, and he said that he checked his list twice and that Volunteer wasn't on the Good list afterall. Also he said that even though he can bend time and space to deliver toys to all the girls and boys on Christmas night, a Volunteer win against Cherokee is one miracle he can not perform.

Wiggins and Gash are too talented? Were you at the same game? Cherokees defense has shut down alot of big name players. Do you think it is by chance that players, who average 20+ or 30+ points per game, suddenly have an off night against Cherokee. The talent seems to disappear against Cherokee's tenacious defense. My crystal ball reveals the prophecy, Yes, it's becoming clearer as the scene comes into focus.......... Defense didn't have much to do with it? You obviously were not at the game or have a hard time dealing with reality. The reality of the situation is that the defense had everything to do with it. Williams and Haun have shut a lot of big name players down this year, and Wiggins and Gash were no exception. Do you think that it's just by chance that a player, who is averaging 20+ or 30+ points a game, suddenly has an off night against the Chiefs? The Chiefs defense is tough. However, the Chiefs offense had 25 turnovers. If Greeneville was half the team that everyone thinks they are they should have killed the Chiefs with that many turnovers. What_a_game expand your mind and allow the truth of reality to filter in. The truth of reality isn't that Wiggins and Gash had an off night, but that the Chiefs had an off night with ball control and that Greeneville was lucky to leave Cherokee with a win.

What were Wiggins shot percentage from the field ? shots taken vs. shots hit?

Most of wiggins rebounds were over the back. I believe the refs cut him some slack because of his name. I counted 8 fouls against Wiggins from the stand and he only had one foul called (a charge). Wiggins shot wasn't off, he was just defended well. He didn't put up one shot from the field that there wasn't a defender's hand in his face. It's apparent that if a team puts a little muscle on wiggins he can't handle it. His legs were starting to give out in the 3rd quarter. If the Chiefs controlled the ball a little better, (25 turnovers) , this game would have been a blow out. I believe that if the Chiefs slow the game down with better ball control they will certainly be a contender at he end of the year.

Its funny cause if i do recall correctly we beat alot of top ranked teams in north east tennessee hmmm, its funny how being stereotyped cherokee that we automatically are a bunch of sucky hillbillies who will never be good enough to claim any respect in any conferences hopefully this year we can change the way that cherokee is looked upon by everyone else in tennessee and demand the respect that i think we deserve

Mobuck_21 you're so serious. Get a life dude. Cherokee is only off to its best start in Cherokee Basketball history and won the Hardees. I believe this is enough evidence to talk smack on CoachT. MObuck_21: the upset would be Greeneville beating Cherokee not Cherokee beating Greeneville. As long as the Chiefs continue to play with sound basketball fundementals as a team, they should do very well this season.
