  1. I am just going off the bracket that I see on the internet. 13 out of the top 32 places in the 15 under division were 15 year old teams and the rest were 14 under. Now as I look at the 16 under open division 29 of the 32 places were 15 under teams from the schedule on the website with only 3 being 16 year old teams. Just stating the fact and not wanting to start a argument. I know the Memphis Bobcats are 15 under and it seems they did really well in the 16 under open division finishing 10th. Just wondering why your 15 under team traveled that far and played againist 14 under teams.
  2. I am unsure on how this tournament works but it looks as if your 15 under team won the 14 under division. The lower 16 under division look to have all of the 15 under teams in this event. The teams that were in the final four were all 14 under teams but just what a outsider see when looking at michaeltwhite.com. How did the Flight teams do at Boo Williams???
  3. I had the chance to watch Flight 15 under this past weekend. I am unsure what other teams have but this team looked very good. They scored 110 points in a game Saturday night and 92 in there game Saturday morning. I talk with two of the parents and it seems that two 6'2 post players out of Kentucky were not with the team this past weekend due to playing in the Kentucky State Tournament. I was also told that all the kids are 14 under besides two of them.
  4. I was really excited to see the Tennessean to finally put more effort into High School Basketball this morning when I read the paper. I have always been a little bit down about the coverage compared to how other papers across the state cover High School. As I looked at the Top 10 players I couldn't help but notice that 9 of the to 10 players in the State all played together in July with the Shelbyville AAU club. This says alot about where the best players in the state play in the summer they do a great job of promoting they kids. I hope that Heritage and Oak Ridge make it to the state tourney this year due to not having a chance to ever see Cait McMahan and KeKe Stewart play in High School. The List of the top 10 players in the state; 1. CAIT MCMAHAN - School: Heritage - AAU Club: Tennessee Flight - Height: 5-6 - Class: Senior - Position: Point guard - College: Tennessee 2. KEKE STEWART - School: Oak Ridge - AAU Club: Tennessee Flight - Height: 6-1 - Class: Senior - Position: Center - College: Middle Tennessee 3. JACKIE PICKEL - School: Bradley Central - AAU Club: Tennessee Flight - Height: 5-8 - Class: Senior - Position: Point guard - College: Middle Tennessee 4. LAKENDRA PHILLIPS - School: Ridgeway - AAU Club: TN Tigers / Tennessee Flight - Height: 5-10 - Class: Senior - Position: Guard - College: Florida 5. BIANCA THOMAS - School: Chester County - AAU Club: Tennessee Flight - Height: 5-11 - Class: Senior - Position: Guard - College: Mississippi 6. JESSICA MOONEY - School: Hillsboro - AAU Club: Tennessee Flight - Height: 5-9 - Class: Senior - Position: Guard - College: Vanderbilt 7. CAITLIN HOLIFIELD - School: Powell - AAU Club: Tennessee Flight - Height: 6-1 - Class: Junior - Position: Foward - College: Undecided 8. BRANDI BROWN - School: York Institute - AAU Club: Tennessee Flight - Height: 6-2 - Class: Senior - Position: Foward - College: Middle Tennessee 9. JANAY ARMSTRONG - School: Shelbyville - AAU Club: TN Tigers / Tennessee Flight - Height: 6-1 - Class: Senior - Position: Forward - College: West Virginia 10. JAZMINE TAYLOR - School: Ridgeway - AAU Club: TN Tigers - Height: 5-8 - Class: Senior - Position: Guard - College: Arkansas State
  5. Showtime and myself would sign up as volunteer assistants to this dream team on the bench! thumb
  6. ...yeah and if Coach Fleming went to Franklin Co, I heard he would take his son with him as his assistant - great combonation
  7. From the NCAA Rulebook: Rule 5-11.4 "The game clock and shot clock shall be started simultaneously when a throw-in touches or is touched by another player on the playing court."
  8. I would agree with everything that was said above. The tournament was very well organized and was a great weekend for AAU girls basketball. Thank you to Larry Vaughn, Alan Bush, and everyone involved in putting on and running an exceptional tournament.
  9. They did well, comming 2nd out of pool A, behind eventual champion Shelbyville Sport Shop. They lost to TN Team Pride in the semi-finals of the tournament to be eliminated. I thought they were vastly improved since last year and could possibly contend for a national bid in the state tourney.
  10. See earlier post about rosters, Sport Shop's roster is posted there.
  11. SwampRat - if we both get that far and bring two gold balls back to TN, the we just MIGHT have to do that, tickets at $10 a pop - with all proceds going to buy Coal Oil and a rag for Puff
  12. CPBG06 has officially been placed under watch due to a nervous breakdown that has occured after her team lost to a mediocore 15 and under sister team. Pretty bad when we have to result to correcting grammar. "Nope, thats not it either"
  13. In the words of a famous ball coach: "Nope, that ain't it either"
  14. Well, its like this. If you can't beat a 15 and under team that has NEVER beaten Sport Shop, how in the world do you figure you can even compete with a vastly improved SSS? To go on top of that, it was the 1st time this years version of Sport Shop had EVER played on the floor together with the two new and very strong additions. Speaking for the entire Sport Shop orginization, we have not been and will not be in the practice of ducking/dodging any competition and will play anyone on a neutral floor. Try to stop the right hand and you get hit with the left!
  15. I would encourage any high school team in the state, or out of state for that matter, to attend the Shelbyville Team Camp. A friend and myself were talking at the state tournament 12 of the 24 state tourney teams in A,AA, & AAA attened Shelbyville Team Camp. Just from experience, it is the single most competitve 4 days you will find anywhere in the state during the summer. On top of that all 4 state champions this year in TN are regular participants at Shelbyville's Team Camp. Can't wait to the 1st and 3rd weeks of June!!!
  16. Got to pull for 8AAA - Go Columbia and make the midstate proud! Congratulations once again to Rachael Gobble-Moore on a fine coaching job!
  17. I agree with all of the above, should be a great tourney. MVP: Alex Fuller - Shelbyville Coach of the Tourney: Rick Insell - Shelbyville / Clay Young - Knox Powell Darkhorse: Columbia - if they get hot, watch out!!! All Tourney Team: Fuller - Shelbyville Newman - Shelbyville Ogan - Knox Powell Bullard - Craigmont Gassie - Wilson Central Lyons - Greeneville
  18. Didn't mean to slight anyone- all 8 can play - might switch Hall with Dudley but that kid can play. Beechboard has been and continues to be overated as a player. LA will get to see Dudley up close and personal 1st round, just like they did Johnson and Seymour last year. Best of luck to Laura, know her personally and love that kid. She can play for me anyday!
  19. So much for 8AAA being down this year! 2 teams in the State Tourney is a great accomplishment. Congrats to Coach Moore and her very young team, should see much more of them for years to come. Great job Rachel, hope it is an all 8AAA final
  20. Starters Abby Lawson -Cheatam Co. Caitlyn Dudley - Gibson Co. Bianca Thomas - Chester Co. Marissa Hensley - Jackson Co. Brooke Johnson - Seymour Off the bench Laura Hall - Oliver Springs Jana Cross - Loretto Katrina Beechboard - Livinston Academy
  21. Flemtone - it was good to see you this Saturday at The Grill. Congrats on your teams success this year. So "are you ignorant or just............."
  22. Ask Jackson Co. and White Co. why they call it the grill. Congratulations again to the Eaglettes!
  23. 85 - I will go out on a limb and say it right now, if Shelbyville and White Co. play next year, the Golden Eaglettes come out on top. Just check out the bottom line: Gold Balls: Shelbyville 10 White Co. 1 (1929- should we even count that?) Silver Balls: Shelbyville 6 White Co. 2 (both to Shelbyville)
