from the end of last season, rockwood has been in a process of humbling themselves. losing 2 of 3 last year at BORO showed them that you cant just show up and win. also during this season, they were brought down to earth very quickly when they got smacked by coalfield. that brought them down to earth for a good while. then they started getting a bit cocky, assuming they were going to make it to state. they rolled through the district and went into region thinking it was a cake walk. then baseball being baseball, wartburg beats coalfield twice and rockwood has to play coalfield in an elimination game.rockwood was then a dropped ball away from not even being metioned on coacht til next year. i was at the game. coalfields players were all out of the dugout celebrating, and bam! again, baseball being baseball. that again was a wake up call that it would all be over like that. the harriman was bad for many reasons. it got bumped up and i dont think rockwoods heads were ever right for that game. not using that as an excuse because harriman played great. then they get the W when it counts the most on the road and end up drawing JCS, the team that beat them twice last year, again in the first round. sounds to me like all this could be fate. i mean rockwood was a pop fly away from being done, that kid had caught every ball hit to him all day and had that last one in the glove. i hope rockwood comes to play tuesday. gas is too costly for me to drive up there for an ole fashion butt whoopin.

for the first time maybe in history. we have two teams from one county in the state tournement. ive never heard of it before, but maybe im ignorant. this tourney is loaded with talented teams. LV is a very good club. as is Friendship Christian and Jackson Christian. who are your picks to win it.

I believe Harriman has a good shot at winning. but y ou never know. i heard that hancock has a pitcher that is 10-0. any truth to that.

you guys are really making the whole standing in front of the ball thing way more than it really was. congrats to harriman. they played their butts off and deserved to win. good luck to both teams friday. everyone needs to forget about whose fans were the meanest and worry about friday.

i talked to an ump after the game about that situation. he told me that this player thought the path from first to second was his. thats why he stopped and just watch the ball. he thought that since the line was his that he could do what he wanted. thats why he stopped. and i saw no shove when it occurred. the only thing that happened was the harriman player nudged him out of the way to catch the ball. then #25 went and discussed with the ump momentarily about what had happened. by no means was that cause for an ejection. and im pretty sure the calls for him to be district MVP on here were that of sarcasm. prob one of his friends on here just giving him a hard time. good luck to both teams friday.

out pitched? both teams had great pitching but coalfields pitcher gave up ten hits. so i dont know if he outpitched #10. there is not such thing as luck. only fate.

well nostrodomus, you're 0-2 on your picks so far. would you like to go for three in a row. maybe you should Gogetta a football and work on makin the playoff cause your done with baseball my friend. no one gives them credit because up until a few days ago they had no hardware. coalfield out played rockwood tonight. the better team DID win, but not sure if they deserved to.

top 10 pragrams in east tennessee? ha. ok everyone is giving you guys credit for beating coalfield. but up until that point, what has your baseball team done? nothing. there are many schools that are way better than yall at basketball and baseball. you wanna know how your team stacks up against other teams, take a trip to lookout valley one weeked and play some of the teams up there. then get back on here and talk about gettin some respect. warburg is not a top 10 program when it comes to athletics. they are good at basketball. they are a basketball school. yes you beat coalfield twice, and you might beat harriman tonight. might. maybe. could. but i believe saying that you have one of the top 10 schools in athletics in east tn in a little farfetched. good luck to all teams today

i think wartburg gained a ton of respect by beating coalfield TWICE in one day. however most people think that harriman is the better team

coalfields coach doesnt seem to be very concerned about playing rockwood. when asked what he thought about having to play rockwood he said something like "we've played them before and beat them so im not that worried." allegedly. the yellow jackets shouldnt be concerned in his mind.

i think we both spoke a bit too soon. wartburg wins the first game 4 3. and is now winning 4-0 after one in the second game.

with wartburg beating OS yesterday it sealed the final 4 teams in the region. rockwood will likely play wartburg and harriman will play coalfield. the harriman coalfield game will be a great match up. rockwood should beat wartburg but you never know in the game of baseball. im sure everyone is wanting another rockwood harriman rematch as those games have proved to be very exciting. who do you think will pitch in all these matchups and what will the outcomes be?

hats go off to the midway greenwaves who should have been playing for a shot at district championship. i watched them against harriman and i believe they should have won that game. my heart to out to ratliff (spl?) of midway. kid was in tears after the game. hes a good kid and im proud of his career. rockwood played great tonight behind the arm of breazeale. harriman hit the ball well but he was able to shut them out for about 7 and a third before harriman scored two runs. rockwood made some changes to their batting line up after the grace game and it seems to be working. congrats to harriman and rockwood. your thoughts.

you have got to think that harriman will beat midway today, so do they throw off or do they have to throw AJ because of it being an elemination game? harriman is better than midway but because of this being an elemination game and it being high school baseball, does harriman have to throw their ace against midway? the officiating was bad both ways. harriman got some calls that should have ggone rockwoods way and vise versa. OS prob threw off so that they could have their ace ready for the elemination game. a win there would give them a spot in the region.
