  1. Ok, that makes sense. Coach Cleve was at CPA for the duration of my 13 years there, always a pillar at summer sports camps and a uniquely gifted coach. He also helped keep our athletic facilities and fields in top shape. I'm very happy for him to finally be getting some recognition as a high school coach after many years of coaching middle school, aau, and as an assistant. Enworth girls seems like a great fit for him.
  2. Ensworth Middle? I'm pretty sure he is being hired as the HS varsity girls coach.
  3. I agree that he is clumsy at times, but name me a 6'7'' Freshman that has better ball handling.
  4. Just want to give a quick shout out to JSS coach's shirt and tie combo.
  5. What a great game. I love single A bball.
  6. ...and here he comes. DC coach must have heard you.
  7. SW is doing a great job of fronting him and denying the pass.
  8. This is looking like a blowout in progress already in the 1st. Southwind is just too much, and are making it tough for DC to play their game. Only way DC can stop SW is to foul.
  9. ...and most everyone else's I'd assume.
  10. I never said that you said anything about race. And you didn't answer my question, maybe it wasn't clear enough. Why do you doubt the Lindsey's ability to pay for CPA?
  11. Maybe, just maybe, the Lindsey's were able to locate and pay for an apartment all by themselves. And that goes for tuition as well. Do you doubt their ability to pay CPA's tuition because of their race? Because of where they moved from? Because of Jalen's skill? I don't get it. Do you have intimate knowledge of their financials? One of the most common criticisms of this CPA team. I would be more suspicious of recruiting had he not previously played for Drew Maddux. He played AAU for him. He liked him as a coach. Drew Maddux gets a job as a high school coach. Jalen wants to play for him in high school. How is this a "HUGE RED FLAG'? It makes perfect sense to me.
  12. You are clueless. Speaking of Barry Bonds, his nephew is CPA's point gaurd!
  13. The rule is a bit ridiculous, since logo's are allowed on shorts, shoes, and socks. What is more ridiculous, and what I assume coachrus is referring to, is the fact that CPA wore the same jerseys in 3 state games last year without a technical, and that the technical was assessed after the first quarter. I feel dumb having to explain this to you.
  14. Go Lions! These girls don't get near the pub that the CPA boys do, but the girl's run over the past 2 seasons is more impressive than the boys to me. Win 2 more and CPA can take home 2 gold balls again!
  15. CPA's 3 games this season vs. Pearl-Cohn have been wins of 16, 22, and 21. CPA has won 57 straight games vs. teams in TN since their loss to Clarkville NE on 11/19/2011. CPA being ousted by Pearl-Cohn would be quite an upset to say the least. I do agree that the gap between CPA and the other top teams is smaller this year, and that they aren't as strong or deep at the gaurd positions as last year, but I'm pretty confident that CPA will capture their second gold ball. The craziest thing when I think about CPA basketball is that they very well may get 5 straight Mr. Basketball awards. Of course we can't predict the future but I could see it going Bradshaw, Lindsey, Lindsey, Blackwell, Blackwell.
  16. CPA lost again today 68-59 to Orem (UT). It was much closer than the first game but Orem led most of the way. St. Rita was a very good team, but CPA should have beaten Orem. CPA shot 33% for the game. While injuries and the flu played a part, CPA has looked very flat and has completely lacked the spark and fire that their competition has brought. Blackwell was a non-factor, Allsmiller still hasn't found his shot, and Lindsey has not looked like himself. I couldn't help but think how differently this team would have reacted if they still had Bradshaw and Wharton. It's hard for me to believe I've been watching the same team that just beat the top 3 teams in Kentucky. All that being said, I've observed that historically CPA has struggled in just about every post-Christmas tournament under Maddux, but they always seem bounce back in a big way. So while I'm scratching my head at their performance the last 2 days, I'm confident that this will be a learning experience and that they will still contend for a second state championship. CPA will play Myrtle Beach in their 3rd and final game of the tournament on Monday at noon. Interesting note: CPA's loss to St. Rita on Thursday was thier first loss in 364 days.
