  1. I haven't been on here in a couple years myself. Good to see the rivalry is still alive and kicking. I've noticed a couple things. 1. Someone said they were applauding the kid's effort in the game not the punch he threw. I find that hard to believe seeing as he was in for like 45 seconds and ran up and down the court 3 times. Maybe he ran hard all three times, I don't know. 2. Not to say that there weren't elbows thrown, but for those of you that don't know basketball (which by reading most of these posts is a lot of you) you are allowed to chin the ball with elbows out and pivot. If someone gets hit, tough. Get out the way. Although I do believe some were thrown a little wild. 3. That last post about a text message. What relevance does it have if you're not gonna say what it said? Sounds like you're just making something up or trying to start something. 4. I liked both student sections. Keeps the crowd alive for the players. Administrators did a good job of controlling them I thought. 5. Terrible refereeing job. The whole situation could have been avoided if tight calls would have been made early in the game. The refs let the game get out of control really early. I thought there was a lot of reaching and hand checking from both sides that was not called. And then a lot of weird calls made later in the game. The refs should have known it would be a physical game and took control early. 6. Both teams played well. I enjoyed watching the track meet. DC seemed to want it more in the 3rd quarter. That was the difference of the game. Good luck to both teams. If they keep their heads on right they should do ok in the postseason.
  2. Smith is a junior. He has the best work ethic in the state, no doubt about it. And it has shown up this year.
  3. Dyersburg handles Milan 11-0 tonight. What's everyone think about this game?
  4. Yea, I think it was the same player who benefitted from the referees choking on their whistles at the end... Glynn was PUSHED!
  5. Well if the start of the season indicates anything, this won't be DC's year in baseball. Dropped 2 games to Covington 6-3 and 8-4. I could be mistaken but i believe Dyersburg beat Covington 15-3 earlier this year in a scrimmage.
  6. This senior transferred from Ripley and it was his first year under Coach Brown. You are from DC so i don't know how you know that Coach Brown blamed the losing on anybody? Unless somehow your in the administration and snuck back into the locker rooms? If you were, i believe you would have a different opinion of what took place. Do you even know who said what and why the senior was not allowed to attend? I have no idea so can you please tell me how you got this info so I can be informed too?
  7. I'd like to think there were teams better then them in this area. Let's face it, what team could be successful after losing 10 seniors???
  8. Tyler Childress. P/1st base They also had an honorable mention, Steven Brown ( Michael's older brother), but he graduated last year.
  9. I'm going to have to go with USJ and Dyersburg.
  10. Michael Brown from Dyersburg. One of 2 sophomore all-state players on that team.
  11. Dear Coach mr bigster and Coach DCfan74, Since ya'll know so much about coaching, referreeing, and playing the toughest position on the court, why aren't ya'll coaching, referreing, or playing the toughest position? This game tonight was amazing. Both teams played their hearts out. But, you two mr know it alls come in here and tell everyone how one player cost dyersburg the game just because he's the coach's son. Being the coach's son is the hardest thing because of ppl like ya'll. Every thing he did wrong is blown out of proportion by ppl like ya'll. And to say Justin transferred because the coach's son played more then him is ridiculous. He barely played much last year, but his role was expanded after the sudden quittings. The pushing off you 2 refer to is what is called " arm bar " . Read your rule guide to learn more about that one.
  12. not sure of the score but north side was up by alot early.
  13. dyersburg wins by double digits. they were up by as much as 17 in the first half. brighton made a come back but the trojans held them off and won by about 11?
  14. The two teams played in the jamboree. DHS was without 2 starters. BHS jumped out to a big lead but the Trojans fought back, took the lead for a little bit, but the Cardinals won by about 4 i think
  15. i would say him or victor mclin of dyersburg.
  16. what??? this is high school basketball!!! these are young ppl!!! you don't go to a game to cheer against another team, i don't care if it is your rivalry!!! thats pretty ridiculous
  17. umm...they only beat dyersburg by 14! and the last score was at the very end of the game. dyersburg shut them down after a long pass midway thru the 2nd quarter
  18. That story line won't work for this game. DHS resumes classes this Monday. And it's home coming for the Trojans so i think and hope that they'll be focused.
  19. i know the score was 28-14 but that was not a "big" win. it was 21-14 and dyersburg had the ball with chances to tie it. if the same thing happens in this game, it will be another close and exciting game to watch!
  20. what is the status of andre flowers for this game? will he play? if so, will he be 100%?
  21. i think elam is going to be fine. if im not mistaken he did return to the game friday night. however, junior tyler childress chipped a bone in his ankle and will be out 3 to 6 weeks!
  22. The ripley dyersburg was a great game!!! it went right down to the wire and tyler caldwell scored the winning touchdown with 15 seconds on the clock!
