  1. You misunderstood my post, what was your motivation to post your original post? You knew what kind of response you would get, and you did. Yours was a BAIT post, and you know it, just the kind of post a TROLL would make!
  2. Pep, Just what is the purpose of your post, really, what do think your post accomplishes. The way I see it, it's just like the pot calling the kettle black! I know you don't see it that way, but before you hijack an Oak Ridge thread to judge another poster, for gods sake take the plank outta your own eye!!
  3. WOW, since when did giving directions become a pissing contest, 500 miles, really??? I'm sure their are those who will take 399, and others who don't. Each to their own, right?
  4. Boobie, I can't vouch for all of the years that the Wildcats fielded a team, but I can tell you about my three years at ORHS and the following three when I was at a local college and followed alot of my friends from those teams. 1975 12-1 State Champs 1976 9-1 1977 12-1 lost in the semi's 1978 8-2 1979 13-1 State Champs 1980 13-0 State Champs Total: 67-6 Three State Championships For the three years that I played at OR, I knew the entire team, from grasscutters to High School, with the exception of three players who came to OR in Jr high, one was a starter and the other two were backups. The following three years were also OR boys from the beginning till the end, with exception of two players, who did play, but were not our star players. Did someone ever tranfer to Oak Ridge because of football, maybe, but not while I was close to the program, and those were six pretty good years for the Wildcats!
  5. He's a troll, don't take the bait!!
  6. This is a message board, some of it you'll like, some of it you won't. Respond or don't respond, it's up to you. Just remember, it's all just opinions with some facts thrown in every now and then. Take it for what it is, ignore that what you don't like, and participate that, that you do.
  7. Against my better judgement I will respond with these facts: LaVergne 2010 record:1-2 Points scored: 35 Points allowed: 97 If this is improvement, I guess we should have kept him!! LOL
  8. Sunbright=worst record in the district
  9. I'm pretty sure you took my post the wrong way, I know from your previous post on the T, that you bring a fair and logical view to the table. And if you say that you think it was an unfair evaluation of the player from Powell, I'm saying that I believe you!
  10. Well it looks like ol tiger is finally coming out from under his rock again, even after the Yellowjackets spanked that butt this weekend. If I remember right, which I'm sure I do, the game last year between OZ and Sunbright ended in a defeat for Sunbright, just like this weekends game with Coalfield. Sunbright= 0-1 the worst record in the district-- LOL , Oh my belly!!!!!
  11. Based on HTV's history on CoachT, if he says he has seen the tape and it's a none issue, then it's a non-issue (other than the grape issue- LOL).
  12. Yea he did, my question wasn't meant to sound like why is Spencer coaching the linebackers instead of Coach Mitchell, I was just wondering why Mitchell hasn't been coaching the linebackers all-a-long. And, I don't mean that to be critical of whoever was or is coaching the linebackers, it just seems like a good fit for him.
  13. Bobcats get the Win!!! I would agree with Jet, the best way for most of the OZ fans is to take 27-South, then 24 West at Chattanooga.
  14. JadedDave, It was Riverdale over your LaVergne team 34-0. On another note, it's great having Spencer on board, my only questions is why doesn't Coach Mitchell coach the linebackers? That's where he starred in college.
  15. Not much on CoachT about OZ, this is always a big game, given the few mere miles that seperate the two schools. What's everyone's thoughts about this game? I guess I got ahead of myself, the Grundy game is next for OZ.
  16. Ahhh..... another sore subject concerning OR football, Off-season conditioning and time in the weight room!
  17. ORidgeKat, I agree with your post, and your right about the number of teams in the system at the Boys Club compared to then and now. I have and will always support the boys playing for OR. I do think however, that more could and should be done to better prepare them for high school football. The situation at the Boys Club is what it is, and I don't see that situation changing much in the near future, however, the two middle school programs need be given the attention they desrve. They need to be treated as an important part and role in the development of our kids in regards to football. This is not impossible, if you look at alot of the surrounding teams in this area, the middle school programs are working hand-in-hand with their high school programs. You post about all of the things these boys deserve, and I coudn't agree more, but, they also deserve to have the same opportunities that you and I had. The format or formula may have changed a bit, but, not enough that it should be totally ignored like it is now.
  18. I'm not only a fan, but an alumni who played for every coach mentioned in my post except Orlando. I'm not trying to be critical, but, it's about time to look at the whole situation concerning football in Oak Ridge and start taking the necessary steps to right the ship, starting with the feeder programs mentioned.
  19. Instead of blaming or talking about the current or last coach, why not address some of the obvious reason for the decline in the Oak Ridge talent pool. First and formeost the middle school programs have suffered in recent years. Everyone talks about the Emory Hale era (which they should), but look at the feeder progams that were in place then. You had Coach Hahn and Coach Ford at the midget level at the Boys Club, then you had Coach Russell at Robertsville and Coach Orlando at Jefferson. Now you have a track coach at Jefferson, (I don't care who his assitant is either, he's a boys club coach at best), and Robertsville seems to be finally moving in the right direction with their coach, but, the last few years have been up and down. The Midgets at the Boys Club used to beat teams from all over the south east, and at one time Jefferson had a winning streak that was untouchable. Basic fundamentals are not being taught by proven coaches before these kids are getting to high school. Plus the fact that kids today seem to have a wide range of interest other than football. I told a coach just a couple of years ago that some of the best talent was walking the halls, his reply (no this was not an Oak Ridge Coach) was that if they didn't want to play, he didn't want them on the team. HELLO, wake up, these are 15-18 year old KIDS, maybe a little encouragment is what is needed, they may wind up helping you win some games and even save your job. Times have changed, if your not willing to change with them, it's your lose.
