Gov, WB is about to face a whole new level of competition here in a few hrs. I know you are the eternal optimist, what is your prediction for this game. Seriously, no if we do this and if we don't do that. what do you really expect to take place tonight. I'm not being a smart***, I'm interested in your take.

Hey tis, let me answer for the Powell folk. It's because nobody wants to talk to him.

WH4L, get your rain gear on buddy. I think the rain helps West a lot. West can run the ball on anybody and the West run D is stout. The WB rb is good, but he won't break anything long on West. WB gets alot of their points on long passes. If this becomes a grind it out game because of the weather, it will be pretty one sided affair.

You can never underestimate how important athletic success is to a school and community. When athletics, especially football, is going well, the whole culture within the school and community is healthy and positive. When a train wreck like this is allowed to happen, the negative effect it has within the school and community just can't be measured, especially at Powell in particular. That is a very, very tight knit community with a ton of pride in their school and their football program. It will take some time to repair the damage even if they cut bait right now. Who is the principal there, that's the person that hired this guy.

Running off the excellent radio coverage they had has to be one of the dumbest moves I have ever seen. SS, you going to Karns tonight?

Does anybody know why he did that to those players? I have never seen that before. I probably would have taken my gear off and chucked it over the fence and said I'm out. But that's just me. As I understand it, these kids are tired of being yelled at. I know coaches yell, it's part of it, but when you're this down and you continue to lose, continue to show up for practice and all you get is yelled at. It's a bad situation.

I really feel bad for those players and fans, they deserve much better leadership than what they have gotten. If they don't make a change, I don't see them having enough players come out to field a team. It's not good. I counted 14 freshmen and about 35 varsity.

yeah, they are dangerously close to taking up the equipment. I don't see how Allen could possibly be back next year and field a team. Those kids are over it. I feel for the players.

Nole, you are correct sir! Future looks very bright. If we can find some good lineman to help 55 Verner next year, we are in business. Do you know of any lineman prospects besides Brinkman?

Yeah, they have some good young athletes and one thing for sure. Coach Rosser's whole mantra for this team is to go hard for 48 minutes. And they do that win or lose. Clinton had to play 4 whole quarters to give themselves a chance for victory against CC. So Clinton has shown they can do it too. This should be a great game, I wish the weather was better for tonight. Again, never thought I would say this but Go Dragons.

osu, I saw something that I have never seen before in hs football. I turned on the tv and my son said "daddy, why are those Powell players standing behind the fence"? What in the world was that all about. I know they were freshmen, and there were only 14 of them, but why even bring them and dress them out if they are not allowed to stand on the sideline? That is a first for me. Implosion of epic proportions is an understatement. Wow!

This game should be exciting to watch, two excellent qbs. Kirby can play, he's going to be a good one.

So far on our 3AAA thread picks for the week, there are 6 that pick AC, and 3 that pick Catholic. Who is considered the favorite in this game?

2 days inside, Wed. was just ok, not great.

Right now the other teams likely will include Ooltewah, Cleveland, Rhea County, Cookeville, maybe Walker Valley, Stone Memorial. Of course it all depends how many teams qualify for quad 1. Looks like there 10 teams from here east that will qualify. So, that could bump 2 teams from here down to quad 2. And yes, I think Mav4L is exactly right on district winner seeding.

Gov, that would be more fun. Karns is giving up nearly 50 a game and they are riddled with injuries.

Clinton is much improved and having a really good year. I'm hoping for 7-3 finish and trip to the playoffs for you guys. I think Clinton and OR could end up in quad 2.

92,I heard he was going to transfer to Oak Ridge for his senior year. His family was spotted looking at houses over in Briarcliff area of the Ridge. He would look even better in Cardinal and Gray.
